    A number of responses have mentioned using the survey. I do believe that positives on the survey serve those who you point out or areas you praise. But, they totally ignore negatives especially where it deals with your experience on the cruise. They will appease you on a call, but it still generates nada in response.
    Just under ten weeks to Odyssey and excited to experience her as well as our first visits to Labadee, Aruba and Curacao.

    @Adriana You are way too kind.  If I am interpreting your experience correctly, then heads need to roll for the treatment you experienced.  Every manager who failed to help you needs to be named on your survey, and your experience described on the survey, just as you described it here.  It's additionally shocking that you're receiving such bad treatment as a Diamond member.  Even the bottom tier passengers should not experience such apathetic customer service.

    @Adrianathe family got in to a cabin reserved in your name and under your financial arrangements and used your card, in your name, tied to your account?  Better keep an eye on "your" room charges...even if RCI said they got that part straightened out!

    Wow.  Just wow.  First the people who were in my room would be getting out.  After the one experience of waiting for a guarantee room...I only book rooms I've selected.  After they got them out, the steward would have to clean everything, because there is no way to know if they sat on the beds, used the bathroom, etc...  I would make sure that your unsatisfactory experience at guest services gets noted on your survey.  I find it unsettling that they entered your room with your card.  You know....the card you may have a payment attached to.  The housekeeping supervisor should have been alerted to fix the problem, instead of having it be "your" problem.  They probably ate your C&A cookies that they weren't suppose to get.  What a hot mess!

    @Adriana you have a very high tolerance meter that I'm sure I don't have. You definitely set the bar high for the grace under pressure. Hats off to you. With all that had gone on the Diamond Manager would have been the straw that broke the camels back for me. He would have taken a full brunt of righteous anger; controlled but angry. I can't even imagine how much you have spent to become a Diamond... 😠

    If you don’t get aggressive in a situation like this then you are not going to get the proper results YOU PAID FOR!
    You cannot be afraid to confront someone who has unnecessarily caused a problem for you.  You are THE CUSTOMER.

    I don’t know if I missed it or not but what type of room had you originally booked and what type did you end up in?  Was location and deck level comparable to your original?

    I would have said, not my problem. Just like I pay extra to choose a specific seat in a plane, I purposely choose my cabin. I wouldn't have accepted anything but the cabin I booked. I would have escalated it to GS Supervisor, then social media blasts, etc while standing in MY cabin, calling security to kick them out.
    That's me. I am known to overreact at times. I physically feel it now for you. You're better than me for handling it so well.
    Still take the previous advice and reach out as well as social blasts. Personally feel you're owed a little compensation, even if it's just a bottle of wine and a relaxing meal at a specialty restaurant. 
    I am so sorry this happened. I hope the rest of your cruise is enjoyable.

    We had the UDP for our Symphony of the Seas Cruise in June (100% capacity).  Once we boarded (10:30am checkin), we did our muster drill, booked our shows/entertainment for the week and than went to chops to book our dinner reservations for the night.  We got all the times we wanted.  I would think you will be able to get times that work for you.  There were open tables at every reservation time when we went.  I could see it being a tad more difficult if you have a large party 8+ people.

    Pre-cruise reservation availability is only a percentage of total available reservations. Once you get on-board, all reservation times are available. 
    Last month, we had UDP and before the cruise, I went in and looked at booking availability for multiple restaurants, and only found very early and very late seatings. When I got on-board and went to book all my UDP reservations, I had pretty much any time I wanted. The host confirmed the pre-cruise availability is not "the whole picture".

    Some folks will do both.  They buy the restaurants at full price, get the reservations, then buy UDP.  When onboard they get refunded for the individual purchases leaving their reservations in tact.  While outside of the spirit of the system, it is within the boundaries of it.  Of course you have to float the additional expense until refund.
    Only you can really determine what is worth it to you.

    Clearly for making reservations yes.  Those paying full freight can make their reservations right away.  Those on the unlimited dining package that get them meals for less than full price have to wait for the reservations.  That's the trade off.

    Yes, you can only do drinks, internet, dining, etc. on the cruise planner. But the app, which is mainly for when you are actually sailing, allows you to select a check-in time without having to fill everything out.

    This may seem like a ridiculous question as I'm new here.  Do you mean to check in on the app on your phone rather than going through the cruise planner on the internet?  Is there something else I should have? I've noticed there are differences between both (app and internet) such as only being able to purchase packages/excursions when logging on through the internet and not through the app.

    You have to know their booking numbers and a passenger DOB and last name.  Then you can add in the booking and you should be able to do check-in and cruise planner, etc.

    You can do the check-in times for all linked reservations; I recently just did this across 4 reservations for 7 people. I then got together with them a few weeks later and input passports and other info.

    If you do it in the app, you can always come back. If you do it through the cruise planner, they will require you to fill out almost all of the things to get a time.

    you can go back and finish. I went on to get my early arrival time - i went in a few days later to do the health questions, and i still have to take a photo for my app as well.

    It won't be exactly 12am but around that time based on the port you will be sailing out of.

    Yes to both questions (although I have only cruised from East coast ports which is my time zone).  I have read several other posts on this forum noting that the time zone of your departure would be the proper time to checkin.
