  1. Mind blowing how these glitches are so frequent for a $17B company they've now become comical
  2. I've canceled numerous packages/excursions and they were all processed correctly during that glitch time. This one package, for whatever reasoning they want to use, wasn't. It appeared on my end as refunded correctly to my credit card and canceled/refunded in the cruise planner correctly. Then the unexpected news out of left field is feels as if they're pulling a shady deal on you like a NYC sidewalk shell game.
  3. Thank you for sharing a similar experience. Royal Caribbean certainly needs to do better! The pathetic attempt of compensation is appalling and insulting.
  4. I'm sharing my experience to advise the aftermath of the Black Friday System Malfunction. As RCL is realizing their errors, they're reaching out to customers to correct "their accounting". A Senior Manager at Royal Caribbean shared there was a major accounting error on Royal Caribbean's part during the Black Friday Sale calling it a "System Malfunction". It seems when a package was purchased from the cruise planner then later canceled, the money was refunded, however RCL advised the refund was allocated in error towards the cruise fare (already paid in full) instead of the cruise planner. This resulted in the cruise fare having a "balance due". The stateroom is now in danger of being given away for nonpayment as sailing is in a few days. RCL insisted on my paying the almost $500 balance due, again, so their accounting error is corrected and the cabin saved. They'll then refund the same amount from their other accounting system, in 7-10 business days correcting their error which will reflect on my credit card after I return from my sailing. My travel agent also advised upon further review in working with the Senior Manager the past few days, they are finding more and more clients who this happened to. I'm extremely confused to say very the least, the reason the customer is being held accountable for correcting the accounting at RCL.
  5. Update: Saturday morning my travel agent (highly recommended from this blog) emailed and shared the senior manager from Royal Caribbean will be contacting me to explain the issue. It seems "the refund from my pre cruise planner was allocated to my fare instead and apparently the 2 RCL systems don't play nicely with each other. Right now it looks like I haven't paid in full and my cruise is in danger of cancelling". I'm supposed to be sailing in just a few days! Meanwhile no one has reached out to me yet. If the two systems don't play nicely together then how can a credit for a cruise planner item be credited to my already paid in full cruise fare?
  6. My travel agent shared that RCCL was looking for my additional balance due although I've already paid in full. It seems during the pre Thanksgiving/Black Friday major glitch, something got really screwy. I purchased then decided to cancel some packages. That refund is now described as a "refund of part of my payment" and showing as balance due! What the heck!?! I've screenshot the cancelation and hopefully things will work out smoothly... however causing me stress
  7. The cooler with water already increased $5 to $29.99 per package... at least in my planner
  8. I wouldn't even consider traveling without a passport. You never know what could happen.
  9. Thank you for mentioning the ALL DAY coming and going behind the beds. It seems that it would be the case. I may not walk as fast as I originally intended now. I much rather be on a path less traveled.
  10. I renewed mine June 29th and had it back in the mail surprising early by the end of July about 4 weeks later!
  11. If I buy the voom and stream for an upcoming sailing, that should that cover the upgrade to Starlink provided it's installed?
  12. This is great advice you shared: when you leave the ship, make sure you have everything you need so you can carry on and enjoy your day. This isn't the itinerary of when I'm sailing however in the event of a change, you should always be prepared.
  13. Looking forward to February 4th saying hi to CBP. Stay safe everyone!
