Glad to hear that you got to keep your A1 two bedroom for this cruise.

Just received confirmation from RCI that our May 2022 Mediterranean cruise on Allure has been transferred to Wonder of the Seas at the same price and cabin grade. Great news for us because we have booked a Crown Loft suite and there are very limited numbers on Wonder compared to Allure. In fact there are only 8 of these cabins on Wonder compared to about 25 on Allure. We usually book junior suite or, occasionally, grand suite so this will be a wonderful experience for us and we are really looking forward to it - YIPPEE 👍🏻😄

I kept A1 two bedroom from Allure to Wonder.
Two other families traveling with mine had 2 bedroom grand suites on Allure and given Junior suites, maintain sky class benefits and $300 on board credit.
They are both traveling with kids, making a Junior suite a challenge for total space and separate/quiet area for kids.

Looking at deck plans, Wonder does not have connecting suites. There is one Junior suite on deck 6 starboard which connects to a balcony. This combo has been requested.

    Both families are likely cancelling.

That's great that RCG did right by you. I have been reading on FB and the other blog of people going from Star class suites to Jr. Suites.

Yes, we have been allocated a CLS cabin on deck 18. Originally, we booked a CLS cabin on Harmony for May 2021 and that was cancelled. We then had a lift and shift to Allure for the same cruise in May 2022. That was cancelled a week or so ago and we have now been transferred to Wonder with the same cabin grade. I think that we have been given priority because we originally booked so long ago.

It will also reduce the D and D+ in the suite lounge which will be great as well.

I think the drink vouchers loaded on to the Seapass is a great idea as you are able to use the vouchers at any time during the day. We are D+ and would receive up to 5 free drinks per day which is plenty for us. If we want any more than that we would be happy to pay for them. ?
It will also reduce the congestion in the DL in the evenings, which is also good. ??

We “invested” in sailing on one cruise line to get the perks.  Take this away, there is no benefit for loyalty.  Emphasis will be on shopping for sales and deals.  This is the same for airline frequent flyer programs.

Yes, I think RCCL have created a monster that they cannot feed. The number Diamond and Diamond Plus members is increasing dramatically every year. I think RCCL should introduce a new Crown & Anchor loyalty level at, say, 350 points. Access to the Concierge lounge could be awarded from that level. By the way, I am Diamond Plus with 262 points so I am not suggesting this to benefit myself, but merely suggesting the change as way to address the problem of the overcrowded lounges. The Diamond lounge could then be restricted to Diamond Plus members with less than 350 points. Diamond members would receive the normal 3 free drinks on their sea pass each night.
Only my opinion. Hope I don’t upset anybody.

Well it looks like we will not be booking any more RCI cruises, at least for the foreseeable future. Our TA contacted RCI and they confirmed that the new TC’s that I posted earlier in this thread will be in force for all future cruises for at least another 12 months. Looks like P&O, MSC and Cunard will be getting our bookings from now on, as they are all taking a much more reasonable and realistic approach to the pandemic situation. ??

Not sure where these new TC’s will be applied. So far I have been advised that they apply to UK and European sailings for 2021 and 2022. I am not prepared to accept them and want a refund for any of the booked cruises where they’re to be applied. I did not get informed about these conditions when I booked each of my three RCI cruises, departing May 22, Aug 22 and Oct 22. They were only presented to me recently when RCI updated the details for the Aug 22 cruise. My TA has advised me to wait until just before the final balance is due, by which time the situation may have changed. If it doesn’t, then I will be requesting a full refund for the amounts paid.

I have today received an updated set of booking conditions (16 pages) for our upcoming Mediterranean cruise on Anthem for August 2022. Having read through the plethora of additional conditions now being posed by RCI in respect of COVID-19 and Health Protection Measures, I find them to be totally unreasonable, extremely onerous and in some cases may even be illegal (in the UK). They impose huge potential liabilities in terms of risk and costs that I am not prepared to accept. I am now in the process of cancelling this cruise and the other RCI cruises that I have booked and am now seeking a full cash refund for each of them.
I suggest that anyone who has booked or is considering booking a European cruise with RCI should carefully read these new conditions before going ahead. Just a “heads up” so that you are aware of this.
We also have two P&O European cruises booked for 2021 and 2022 as well as an MSC UK Islands cruise next month and neither P&O or MSC have imposed anything other than what I would call reasonable and understandable conditions in respect of COVID-19.
It is totally understandable that due to COVID-19 the cruise companies need to impose a number of additional precautions and restrictions but I think that RCI have gone completely overboard (excuse the pun) with them and many potential passengers will not accept what RCI are imposing and go to another cruise line who are much more reasonable and understanding about what the normal passenger is willing to accept to get onboard a cruise ship.
