  1. My understanding is that all but $100 per person is refunded as a FCC as long as you cancel before final payment date.
  2. Unfortunately, not on Royal Caribbean ships.
  3. FFP2 masks are still required on flights and public transportation. This is the US equivalent of K95 masks. Make sure you bring them along as it it seems like you will need them in Italy.
  4. With Sky Class, the difference is Coastal Kitchen - a suite only dining room. It is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It has it's own menu and most (but not all) would consider it an upgrade over the MDR. If you are mainly interested in the dining upgrades, you could probably get a regular balcony room and purchase the Ultimate Dining Plan for less than upgrading to a sky class suite.
  5. Updated mask requirements for May 1st to June 15th. FFP2 masks still required on planes, trains, buses, etc. Covid-19, table of permitted activities | www.governo.it
  6. There are multiple reasons to use a TA - at least to manage your cruise. It does not cost anything and can be a major timesaver, especially if anything goes wrong with your booking. I use MEI Travel. They are sponsors here and many here use them with great results. You can use the "get a free quote" feature on the main page of this website or contact them directly at https://mei-travel.com/
  7. You can always pay for the room service. Its only 1 charge for as much as you want. Worth it if time is a factor.
  8. Call your TA right away, or Royal if you booked direct. They will tell you your options and pricing.
  9. I had my wife hold it. It helps to have another person but can be done by yourself. The proctors are patient.
  10. It lists arrival at 7am. I would think you could do self carry walk off at 7:30 to 7:45.
  11. It's 270 days to be considered fully vaxxed. You would be allowed on the ship, but would have to follow the unvaccinated protocol. It may not mean much, but it could affect certain ports. If it were me, I would get the booster.
  12. Royal has offered the same cruise in the past but had to change because of the restrictions in Grand Cayman. There will be issues with that itinerary on the Oasis class ships because they are unable to visit ports that use tenders rather than a dock.
  13. Buy the Royal Caribbean recommended eMed tests and you can take them anywhere where you can connect to the internet. https://store.optum.com/royal-caribbean-tests/
  14. I didn't see where you could get one at the Beach Club.
  15. I am a planner and have cruises booked way out. I typically book at the first sale that comes up after the cruise planner opens for bookings.
  16. My son would rather be doing things with his friends rather than eat with us, but our rule on a cruise is that he has to eat dinner with us.
  17. You can drink it anywhere. You can even bring it to the MDR. They are supposed to charge a corkage fee but It is rarely charged. On my last cruise, I brought a bottle of Italina red to the MDR and the waiter not only opened it, but went and found a decanter to put it into to aerate it - still did not charge the corkage.
  18. We have been able to book some things. There are excursions for each port except Barcelona. I can order the 3 night dining package, but not the UDP. I also cannot make MTD reservations.
  19. Thanks for the info. Hopefully that is the case. I can do the whole check in so it's not that big of.a deal, but I would like to have the app while on the ship.
  20. Great post, and much more representative of my experience on Royal Caribbean.
  21. What has happened in previous cases is that the CDC will appeal but drop the order. The entire case will be set aside as moot because there is no longer an order in place. That way the government ends the order without agreeing that weren't allowed to make it in the first place.
  22. I tried that. As, I said above it works for my other 4 cruises also. I am going to try Royal CS but I have low expectations.
  23. Biggest takeaway is that once again, the judge ruled that the CDC exceeded its authority just as it did with the conditional sail order. These types of rulings make it harder for the CDC to implement future restrictions on cruising.
