If you are booking as soon as the schedule is released (I am assuming Oct 2019 is your Autumn) you shouldn’t have a problem finding the cabin you want. We normally book a suite and there are usually a choice.
The only cruises I find that sell quickly are the once a year repositioning cruises. E.g. Singapore to Sydney, Hawaii to Sydney etc. I am not sure if Ovation is coming back to Australia / New Zealand in the 2nd half of 2019 as it maybe replaced by Spectrum. All should become clearer next week when the Australian season is released. China will not be released until June.

We booked the May 18th sailing out of NJ on adventure and we got an spacious ocean view balcony GTY. We were assigned room 1670, pretty far aft directly under the WJ. I’m not too worried about the noise from the wj, I am however a little worried about being that far aft as I’ve heard we may feel vibrations and any potential rocking is worse in the back of the ship. We rolled the dice to save (which was around $300 total for our family of 4) so we’ll see if we’re happy or not. We did receive our room assignment about 2 months in advance. Also this is my first cruise as Emerald so I’m excited for that too.

Thanks !  I love those cinemas.  They are so great - especially on long cruises where you really look for something to do on multiple sea days.  I hope they NEVER get rid of them !

Sorry to hear that.  I actually stopped smoking with it TWICE.  It was so easy the first time that I thought I could just be a "only smoke when I drink" smoker.  That was folly, of course.  So I did it again and the second time was permanent.

You are a genius. I have been dieting to be at the proper size when I go and buy a whole new wardrobe exactly 8 days before my cruise. I have a plan.

I booked 1D Ocean View Balcony on Symphony for December 2018 sailing in late February just before the last KSF promotion rolled out with NRD.  When I checked again on the next weekend, saw the KSF promotion and noticed a substantial price drop.  Was able to contact the TA on 1 Mar and got a huge price drop of $1070.    

So I get off a ship and you board another one. I love Serenade. I did a B2B on her a couple years back. I will be following as usual. I had three slices of my favorite cake.
