S0nny got a reaction from teddy in Bugs?
I was curious and tried to find statistical data about prevalence of bed bugs, but it’s apparently not monitored by the CDC or other regulatory or monitoring agencies.
As a healthcare practitioner, my recommendation is an “ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure”.
I would definitely recommend being overly cautious and check for signs. But I wouldn’t let it discourage you from something you may enjoy! Even 5 star hotels are at risk...
When in doubt; seek them out! If none are found; let the fun abound!

S0nny reacted to NateL in Swim diapers - Independence of the Seas?
There is a diapers only area on Indy. There was a small slide to climb up and go down with a splash landing, as well as two splash animals and the splash tower. My 18 month old enjoyed that area. See photo from video posted above.

S0nny reacted to Dawn T. in Anthem RoyalUP Bid Successful
My husband always bids on RoyalUP whenever he has the opportunity. I always tell him it will never happen. Well, we are sailing on Anthem next week, and he received an email yesterday that our bid was accepted. We originally booked a 2C (ocean view with large balcony) long ago. I wanted a junior suite, but it was more than double the balcony price. I kept checking the JS price, but it was never reduced. We ended up with a J1 (junior suite with large balcony) for $1,000 (total bid). We think it is well worth the upgrade. We get a bigger cabin, better bathroom, giant balcony, plus dinner access to Coastal Kitchen. We are hoping to get dinner reservations for CK every night. We sailed on Ovation in March in a grand suite. We had 5:30 dinner reservations every night in CK, and the place was practically empty. We’re hoping for this on Anthem. For those wondering about bid timing, he placed the bid on 7/29/19. Upgrade email arrived yesterday 10/1. Sail date is next week.

S0nny reacted to Matt in RC Rewards credit card
In terms of rewards, it's not the most lucrative credit card in the world. It's best for someone that wants to earn OBC and/or free cruises and that's it.
Personally, I prefer other credit cards that give me flexibility to earn cash, travel rewards, gift cards, etc.

S0nny reacted to CHRIS WONG in Hello! I Am A Crew Member!
Hey guys!
So I have some exciting news!
I found out last night that I'm going to be transferred to Oasis Of The Seas in 3 weeks time. This is a big step up for me, and a lot more responsibility is going to be put on me - but I'm excited for this challenge.
I'll be flying out to Spain to join the ship, and then crossing back to America for the beginning of the Caribbean season.
Let me know if any of you will be on Oasis! I look forward to meeting you!

S0nny got a reaction from KenCP in The Key? Is it worth the price?
I nagged and NAGGED my husband because he wanted to book The Key. He’s always been a bougie elitist... the quintessential champagne drinker on a beer budget ? We normally only get one internet package, so I wasn’t convinced of the added value...
Our upcoming sailing on Harmony is practically sold out... and while I was savvy by pre-booking our entertainment... With the ship being so full, there are so many factors with dinner (UDP and no reservations) and whatnot... I’m happy we have a little more wiggle room! I will post a blog of our trip and put details in there about whether it ended up being worth it to us!

S0nny got a reaction from Kerry in Overnights on Coco Key?
I think a beachside dance party with fireworks, live music, included beverages would be a lot of fun! You could have all day to relax and soak up the rays, and party into the wee morning hours. Sounds like a blast to me. Having cruised most of the Caribbean destinations, we are considering cruise itineraries that include multiple stops to Cocoa Cay and Labadee. We always have a blast on those days!

S0nny reacted to JohnK6404 in The Key? Is it worth the price?
Just a little tip based on our experience on Allure with the Key. Plan to arrive no later than 15 minutes or so before the show starts (sure beats the typical 30+ minutes and a prayer to get decent seats especially with a group).
We pushed it to 10 minutes once at the Aqua Theater and just made it! The crew members explained that about 8 minutes or so before the show starts they drop the rope to the reserved section to fill the section.
Have a great time!

Day 12 Sunrise as we approach Key West
Security is camped out down the hall on my deck. Someone's cruise is ending early. Have to give them credit for thinking this through and getting kicked off in Key West, a lot easier than getting kicked off in another country. I suspect they'll have to pay the penalty for violating the PVSA though so there is that.
MSC Armonia at the naval pier so we scored the better pier again this time.
Some history on Mallory Square.
When in Rome...
I went for a walk along the marina waterfront and saw some Manatees doing what they do. Just sort of float there.

I always buy the unlimited package.. As long as you go book your reservations as soon as you get on the ship you will be fine.. And yes the Unlimited package includes Hibachi BUT only the one protein option if you want the 2 protein option you have to pay extra...

S0nny got a reaction from USCG Teacher in Recommendations for disembarkation day.
If you have never experienced Cuban food ?? I highly recommend you try some while in Miami! I recommend this place we ate at last time we were there. It’s close to the port, and would make a great refresher before exploring! Try the Ropa Viela, Cuban Sandwich, and Cuban cordadito (Cuban coffee crack!). If you’re not an adventurous eater, at least try Cuban coffee (can be found almost everywhere in Miami). My favorites are cordadito (the sweet nectar from heaven ), a colada (for your afternoon perks), or just your café con leche (your inner basic white girl drink with some Cuban pizazz!)

S0nny reacted to JLMoran in Internet Packages
Hi @J-Fitz, welcome to the RCBlog forums!
If each of you buys the Deluxe Beverage Package w/VOOM combo, then each of you can connect one device to the ship's wifi network.
Before buying that, though, look at the price of the combo package vs. the price of two regular Deluxe Beverage Package purchase and a single 2-device VOOM Surf & Stream package. With this, each of you buys the drink package, but only one of you buys the VOOM plan. It's perfectly fine to share a multi-device VOOM plan with cabin-mates, and very often it's more economical by at least a few bucks to buy the 2-device plan with separate drink packages. This is especially true if you find a good sale price on the drink package, as those usually come at the same time as good sale prices on VOOM.
If you're OK with the current combo package and it's at least as good as buying separately, go ahead and grab it so you lock in that price. You can always cancel the purchase with no penalty and then re-buy if a better sale comes along -- whether that sale makes it better on the combo or the separate purchases.

S0nny got a reaction from ChessE4 in Checking in
Our first cruise with Royal was out of Ft. Lauderdale. We showed up when the “check in” time told us to (which had to have been around 12:30 or 1:00 pm. ) It was busy, but the line was always moving. It took about 45 minutes to an hour to get on board.
This last cruise, our entire group checked in online. That means your picture is already done, your documents signed and have your set sail pass in hand. At the time we checked in, there never seemed to be more than 20-30 people in any of the different loyalty lines. The terminal seemed like a well oiled machine.
Definitely check in before the terminal, and just have your passport/ID in hand with your set sail pass. The quicker you get through the line, the faster you get to the bar!
