  1. I have four, First cruise ever 2006 we took my son's friend with us & we were not aware that we needed to have a notarized letter from a parent that we could take her, we arrived at long beach port trying to fax docs back home to get signed & notarized so we could board the ship,2016 boarded our ship in port Canaveral after many Miami vice drinks needless to say I passed out during outside muster drill practice missed the whole thing, Husband & brother-in-law on the same trip had to many drinks on day 2 at sea and by day 3 they both were covered in blisters from their sunburn luckily we could purchase aloe on the ship, June 2022 Alaska I bought new dress shoes for formal night that I could not wear comfortably, I spent the next couple of days looking for shoes in port with o success I ended up wearing my water shoes lol!

  2. FCC is an absolute joke, I will never take the 125% again, Definitely not worth it. I have spent countless hours on the phone with RC trying to get credits which finally happened but I don't believe I received all of it but I gave up and excepted what I finally got....

Let me explain that I have never been on an RC cruise. I have had both of my scheduled cruises in the past two years involuntarily canceld because of circumstances beyond RC's control. I do not blame them for that. What I do blame them for is the absolutely ridiculous and flat out horrific customer service that they provide when you call them. It is so beyond bad, that I am amazed that they are still in business. Honestly, it is that bad. Consider these facts:

    * I received a future cruise credit from my first canceled cruise in 2019

    * I used that cruise credit to book another cruise in 2020 which was also subsequently canceled

    * When I booked the 2020 cruise, my 2019 cruise credit covered the entire fare except port taxes, fees and a $1.00 fee per person (more on that in a minute) which I paid with a debit card. I still had $177 left on my 2019 cruise credit.

*Anyone who had a cruise canceled because of the Coronavirus received the email from the President of RCC laying out the options. One of the options was receiving a 125% future cruise credit, which I decided upon choosing.

*Lo and behold I get my 2020 future cruise credit and it is the same amount as the fare I paid. Not 125%. Honest mistake. I call RC. Here is where the fun begins.

    * I call three times and wait a total of 5 hours and 46 minutes. No lie. No joke. I speak with 5 different representatives, all of which give me completely different answers and none of them can figure out why my FCC is the same as my fare. Until the last representative: who tells me this:

*A future cruise credit is a credit applied to a fare. When it covers the entire fare, RCC charges $1.00 per person to make up the fare. So in essence, my fare was $2.00 and the 125% was based on my $2.00 fare. Are you kidding me? What about the fact that I paid for my fare back in 2019 and that money was just applied to the 2020 cruise??? Nope. Sorry. That's the way we do it he says. So I lose my mind ansd ask for a manager. I am told that they are in a meeting. They take my info and say a manager will call me back in the morning. That was two weeks ago. No call, no manager. And oh by the way. My $177 credit from my 2019 cruise is now null and void because I can't use it.

What an absolute scam. This company is an international joke and will never ever ever get a single dollar, other than the ones they already scammed me out of, from me.

    The absolute worst -

I use travel agent to let them deal with the issues

I’m on Enchantment of the Seas right now as well. I have a different perspective.

Tuesday afternoon a 600 foot tanker ran into an 80 foot fishing boat at the entrance to the Houston-Galveston Ship Channel. 1 person confirmed dead, 1 person in the hospital. The Coast Guard abandoned the search for two other missing crew members today and they are presumed dead. The crew of the Pappy’s Pride fishing boat and their families are having a horrible week, much worse than I ever hope you or I have. I’m happy to be enjoying time on a cruise ship with my family this week.

Due to this tragedy there has been NO ship traffic in or out of the ports of Houston, Galveston, or Texas City since Tuesday afternoon.  The economic impact of shutting down tanker and other ship traffic in this area is staggering.

After Enchantment waited offshore all day, the Coast Guard was gracious enough to allow her into port Wednesday afternoon as she passed within yards of the wreckage site at a very slow speed while the responders were still securing the wrecked vessel, controlling the environmental damage, and searching for two missing human beings.

After waiting all last night and all day today, Enchantment was escorted out of port this afternoon in heavy fog with two pilot boats off our bow to ensure we safely traversed the fog. I was deeply moved as we passed the crash site at a very slow speed so as not to disturb the small fleet of boats and the crane platform that were continuing the recovery operation in the channel.

Enchantment of the Seas was the ONLY ship allowed to come in or out of the area since Tuesday afternoon. Then Carnival Dream was finally allowed in this evening after she waited offshore all day. As of this moment the area remains closed to all other ship traffic. Only a few small service boats have been allowed in the area.

Royal Caribbean provided text and email updates about every two hours yesterday as we waited to learn when we could board. Enchantment’s captain provided several updates last night after we boarded, and several more updates throughout the day today. There was little information that they could provide because they had no control over the weather or the tragic situation in the Galveston Jetties, but they checked in with us regularly to let us know they were communicating with authorities and trying to get us underway. They also did not offer false hope or speculation  because they knew the situation was fluid and telling us one thing and then changing their story would have drawn much criticism.

We’re now underway to Cozumel and I’ve been having a great time, all things considered. I’ve used my cell phone as a tool to find out as much as I could about what was happening with our situation, much of which is spelled out above.

May God bless the crew of Pappy’s Pride and their families. May those who perished Rest In Peace.

Much more accurate perspective, God bless the families. If my cruise was delayed for this reason I would totally understand & be respectful
