Thats exactly my point. Im sure there is some good that can be pulled from it.....but good LORD would you want to have to be the one to sift through it all to get that good? Its like a twitter poll.....keyboard warriors and jokers mucking up the results. Why would you subject yourself to that if you REALLY want answers? Id ask doctors, epidemiologists, people in the cruise industry with knowledge of how lines actually operate, people in logistics even.....then people that actually cruise.....not people that never have, or ever will. And definitely not just anyone on the internet! 

Reading the post on the blog by @Matt (basically a list of things they want our input on) felt like they were saying "this is why we havent allowed cruising." But some of the questions were just ridiculous: "a. Should cruise ship operators deny boarding to passengers with COVID-like illness or confirmed infection with COVID-19?" uhh.....ya think?!?!?!
I think asking questions in that list to Joe and Jane Doe is begging for ridiculous answers.  Youre going to have a large portion of people saying "nothing can be done....cancel cruising forever" and youre going to have a large portion saying "nothing can be done....just let me on the ship" and theyre going to have to sift through to get REAL information????  Feels like they just threw out something to say "see......we care........" Im not buying it.  If they CARED theyd work with people that have the knowledge to actually answer these questions (looking at you, Blue Ribbon Panel)....not Steve in South Carolina that punches keys on a computer all day.

I think they do not really wants answers they just use it as a way to show people why they have the no cruise order , it's just a "positive" way to explain their act

Just my opinion, but I think more than anything, this shows that its not worth sinking money, time, energy into a 2021 BIG GROUP cruise that may not end up being a BIG GROUP. I think, believe, have faith that cruising will resume by 2021, but they wont be full or close to full. These huge group cruise things are expensive to organize, and its just not cost effective if you cant max it out. 

Kinda feel like this gets lost in all of the other garbage...weve done unheard of things.

This is a pretty standard USG RFI format.     Long list of questions - the lines have to build a story and rationale for each one.    Its a lot of work.   At the working level all those cruise directors will all have to recreate their entertainment programs with the output of that RFI in mind..

I fairly certain that the CDC doesn't want to hear MY opinions on anything. Whatever I would write to them would have way too much ranting and obscenities! ?
On a serious note, I really hope that not too many submissions come from the "anti-cruise" crowd.
I'm sure you know the type. The people that always NEED to comment "This is why I would never go on a cruise" whenever a negative story about a cruise pops up.
 

I guess were blessed to be so close to the beach. My parents have a condo over there, and we get to go often enough. We went down a couple weeks ago for the week, and enjoyed some great family time on the beach.  We ordered pick up from the restaurants, and went to do the fun kid stuff early to avoid any crowds. Didnt really feel like a different beach trip, all in all.....headed to the mountains this weekend.
Ultimately, we are definitely spending more time doing FAMILY things together......and that aint all bad! 
 
 

Now, THAT makes some sense. And goes back to my point of, they dont really CARE what the public thinks.....lol. Makes sense that a govt. department has to feign interest in the public input before taking action.

Our backyard is completely flat and open as well.  There is (or was now lol) just grass.  We had the perfect set up.  D11 has always wanted a pool but funds kept going towards cruising which she loves just as much as I do.  However, with no cruising this year and maybe even next, we decided to YOLO and do it.  Truthfully, if you are really wanting to, you should get on it now.  Many places are already booking into next spring...
Also, the cool down vs. heat up idea, our "hot tub" is actually a spillover spa that will be connected to the pool.  We can heat it or it can have the same temp as the pool water.  That is an option if you want use the hot tub to cool off.
It's true.  We are doing inground but above ground pools are also completely out of stock everywhere.  You can't even get one around here right now if you wanted one.  We started looking around for a builder in May and decided on one mid-June.  Most places were already booking into September-October or next spring at that point.  The builder that we fell in love with said they could squeeze us in mid-August and we went for it.  As luck would have it, the pool kits for the few people before us are not in due to Covid backups and they are building ours now since our stuff is here, a month ahead of schedule.  We are beyond excited.

Ive done the bourbon trail....well.....a good portion of it. Woodford, Buffalo Trace, Makers, Wild Turkey, Evan Williams, Heaven Hill (makes a lot of different ones), and Willett!  LOVED IT!!!!

I'm super excited about this...no disruption in my beverage package service ? ?
But, I do worry about older cruisers who are less tech savvy...I'm technologically "functional" at best, and when I've had to help my mom (who does enjoy cruising with her best friend) figure out anything tech related, it makes me want to beat my head against the wall. Please dear Lord sweet baby Jesus have some crew dedicated to helping out the less tech savvy and senior citizens!

I'm excited about the positive implications here. I am concerned that this is a truly non-scientific poll.  It would be ideal if they could limit responses to those who have cruise experience and, at the very least, reduce the weighting for those who have strong opinions but have no idea why. Many rebels without a clue out there! ??
