My DBP jumped to $65 too but I locked in at $52 hoping it would go cheaper before we sail in September.  Seems like there is a "sale" every two weeks or so.  Fingers crossed labor day "sale" is a good one.

I'm not heading out until August 2020, but my Cruise Planner DBP just went up to $65 today as well...

God, this is such an easy solution once someone points it out to you.  ?  Thanks for the direct link, @cdixon22, made it all that much easier.
For future topic searchers: looks like the outdoor movies on Oasis are at the Aquatheater, which while probably not QUITE as exciting for the kids, makes a ton of sense logistically...

I have not sailed on Oasis yet, but check out some of the past Cruise Compasses for information on show times and activities:

You can filter by ship and similar sailings.

I am glad these things exist now.. I am 32 years old and I have Asperger syndrome.. I am very verbal and open to talking about it.. But anyway when I was a kid my first cruise was at age 9 and it was very difficult for me.. I was extremely shy and scared of going to the kids program.. In fact I am not so sure back then they would of known what to do with a kid like me.. Now I still have my issues but I am high functioning (Went to a great college program that helped me really come into my own).. Anyway I love cruising but I still have issues especially sensory issues and even at 32 I call the cruise line and explain my issues and they help me anyway they can.. I am always allowed to have separate muster drills (the loud noise really bothers me also don't like to be touched by people so being herded outside like cattle doesn't work for me) But its great to know that they have come leaps and bounds with regards to their children's programming. Just thought I would share my perspective as an adult on the spectrum.

Depending on the time of day, Schooner Bar, Captain Tony's or Hogs' Breath would most likely fit the live music option.
There are a couple different trolley tour operators that will give you a tour of the island and let you hop on/off as you wish. A good way to sight see a bit. And you can get the obligatory tourist photo at the southernmost point. ?
Duval St. is the main shopping/restaurant/bar area, but try to get to some sights off of there if you want the "real" Key West, IMHO. If you're a history buff, the Hemingway Home, shipwreck museum or Truman's Little White House are all interesting.

Absolutely.  The Hamilton night was good for the convenience of going into town and exploring the bar scene until the wee hours, but other than that it wasn't a huge deal.  What WAS impressive was watching them navigate into the port.  You could lean over the sides and it sure LOOKED like you were mere feet from the reefs on both sides coming in.  I was still in the Coast Guard at the time, and the thought of being on that bridge gave me palpitations! ?

I did that exact cruise on Empress of the Seas (it was still Nordic Empress at the time!) back in 2000, and it included an overnight in Hamilton!  It was a really unique cruise having all of that time on the island with no rush to get back. We absolutely loved it!

It's been a LONG time since my last cruise, but back in the day I had luck with these bad boys:

No wire or surge protection, but grounded.  No one ever gave me any trouble.
As an aside, on my last family trip, we foolishly left our sound machine/projector at home, and the boys were not happy about it.  Downloaded an app from the Apple Store called Night Light which provided a nice choice and volume of white noise options AND scrolled through a series of colors on the screen if you wanted to to light up the room with some soft light.  It was a lifesaver, and the basic version was great (you can pay to upgrade for me sound options, but we didn't find that to be necessary).

Yes, I was going to say it depends on what deck your are on.  I would go with forward if on a lower deck and aft for mid-decks and higher.

To me the towel policy is no big thing, you go get a towel, you take a towel back.
But I'm also not a chair hog, if we are going to go get something to eat, I turn my towels in, go get lunch, comeback and get a new towel.
I definitely won't stress about it.

USCG Teacher reacted to ellcee in Swim Dress Code
Sigh. Not to be disrespectful to your opinion but this hard to read and my eyes just rolled to the back of my head. Everyone should wear a swimsuit in the pool, if they so choose...whatever they may weigh. I say this as someone who refuses to wear a bathing suit because I think I look awful. Honestly, I love seeing confidence in anyone, no matter their weight. My issues are mine alone and I would never impose them on anyone else. We should all be comfortable in our skin and not make people feel bad for how they look.

    Even bigger sigh.

Haven’t used groundlink, but anytime we have a ton of luggage and don’t want to wait we like using execucar.  It’s a sister company to super shuttle and so far we’ve had nice and clean suburbans and Yukons as cars.

Hey everyone!  This site is such a wealth of knowledge, thank you all for taking the time to share your experiences and expertise.
My name is Jerry, and my wife Andrea & I are taking our two boys (age 5 & 8 ) on their first cruise on Oasis of the Seas out of Bayonne on 8/16/20.  The wife and I used to go on a RCCL cruise every year when we were young (I proposed to her on stage on Enchantment back in '99!), but we've not been on one for 14 long years now.  We couldn't be more excited to be cruising again!  Until then, I'll be digging through these boards, watching some live feeds and probably asking LOTS of questions.  Looking forward to getting to know you!  ?
