THIS! I'm normally a very laid-back, relaxed person anyway, and not too much gets to me. I can go with the flow pretty easily in almost any situation. But when I walk up to the bar, or the buffet in the WJ, or any other sort of line/waiting situation, it's not hard to "read the room" and see who's there, see where the line forms, and see who's probably been waiting a few minutes before you. But I'm always astounded at the amount of people who just walk right up and couldn't care less or don't bother to check around, and expect simply because they are there, it's their turn and no one else matters. That really frustrates me and usually shows me the people I avoid trying to start a conversation with or getting to know, and very quickly points out the nice people I will try to talk to while waiting for other said "problem children". ?

Line cutters...in the WJ, at a bar, waiting for doors to open at a show, at the ice cream machine, getting on /off the elevators. I know it's not RC specific, but it seems quite a few people lose their manners on vacation.

    Okay number 2.
Having to re-enter my details over and over again when searching for a cruise.  CAS #, age, state of residence, etc.
I should be able to enter that once per session or login and it already knows my state, my age, my CAS#, etc.

They will, which is why they're losing roughly 47% capacity instead of closer to 94% if they lost them both. Typically 4R-22L is used for landings (it is the only runway that is Cat. III certified as I understand it) and 4L-22R is for departures.  Now, 4L will handle just about all of the traffic, except for the crosswind runway.  The controllers are going to have their hands full.

Couldn't agree more, one of my top 5 "avoid" airports.  Unfortunately, JFK & LGA are on that list, too.

Bulkiest outfit?  Amateur hour.  Bulkiest outfitS? Now you're talking!  In all seriousness though, I have a bag that is extremely similar to @sk8erguy1978's that came with packing cubes designed to fit it.  It has saved me tons of money on checked baggage over the years.

I hate dealing with JFK & LGA. Driving from Orange County NY, zipping into NJ for EWR is ideal.
A friend and I got into a discussion about EWR being famous for delays, etc. I said, I've NEVER had a noticeable flight delay from EWR and how it's my favorite of the "big three" ... mainly for its accessibility for me. The next flight I took out of EWR was delayed by 12 hours ... well played, well played LOL.

While "currently unavailable" a backpack like this (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078N6SVS2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) can hold a significant amount of clothing. I purchased it in 2018 and it's my go to for weekend (and overnight) getaways. It holds a few days worth of clothing, my laptop and more. It could help fill the gap of what doesn't fit in a carry on.
Besides that, re-usability will be key - re-wear jeans, less shoes, etc. As @Sharla suggests, doing laundry will help, and organizing with packing cubes might too. Check out YouTube, lots of packing tip videos.
Finally, think about what you're saving to do laundry, buy a new backpack, packing cubes, etc, vs just paying to check a bag... Price might be comparable.
Finally, Finally, some airlines give you a checked bag as a perk if you have their branded CC (or some CC offer cash towards an airline of your choice) of course this usually comes with a yearly fee.

For one or two cruises, this might be a wash. As soon as you get to three or more trips with flights required, the savings will start to add up.

So, I'm well aware that the potential of summer cruises leaving from Bayonne is very much up in the air, this could pertain to many people in the community whether or not we are cruising.  Newark is shutting down runway 4R-22L from early July through October for repaving, refurbishment and upgrades.  That is EWR's main runway and handles almost half of the traffic for the entire airport.  There will be numerous flights cancelled going in, and you can probably count on significant delays and general unpleasantness for the flights that do remain on the schedule.  Just a heads-up to think about when planning any summer/fall travel to the NY Metro area...

One. The shorter cruises would be a nice way to end some "long weekend" sightseeing we've been wanting to do in the San Francisco & San Jose area. Although, with the over 6 hour drive to the port, we'd probably have to add a short flight from SFO to LAX. That wouldn't be a deal breaker as a quick Google shows prices to be less than traveling by car (rental, gas, food, etc).

Unfortunately, my date to rejoin a cruise ship for work has been postponed. I'm assuming it's because the CDC has still not confirmed cruising out of the US yet, and Royal are not ready for non-essential crew to return just yet.
