Goslings is the only choice, unless you're looking to make a "froo-froo" version of the D&S. Might as well put an umbrella and a slice of citrus fruit in it if you use Kraken.

Disagree that Kraken is "proper".  Goslings is the proper choice. Don't count my vote, though, I've never had Kraken, just arguing that it's not proper.
 
 

I'm just the opposite of Twangster.  I have tried Goslings but never Kraken.  I enjoyed Goslings.  We took the tour in Bermuda.  Which is easier to acquire ?  I would buy whichever is more elusive while you have the opportunity.

@JLMoran  Agreed - the deal needs to work for you.  We came off Anthem in June and couldn't resist re-booking.  For the inside I got the price at $90 per person per day.  It was the only way for us to afford a second 9N this year.  You got me wondering, so I just re-checked the prices for my sailing.  They have gone up quite a bit for an inside.  Crazy, but now the balcony is $421 pp more than what an inside is running.  I am now 3 months out, so maybe this will all change.  Still, I'm glad I YOLO booked when I did.  

CBS & media et al bashing aside, it was nice to see Richard Fain and the Celebrity Edge.  I agree with @monctonguy - this video should be good for business.  @princevaliantus Thanks for sharing.  Overall a good 5 minute video IMHO.

@YOLO, I haven't sailed in an inside cabin yet (only two cruises under my belt, one Balcony and one JS). But as I'm looking to try and start booking more cruises as the years go by, I'm seriously debating going to inside rooms and missing out on the balcony, much as I love it, if they have the VB equipped and the price difference from Inside to real Balcony room is more than about a hundred bucks pp.
My upcoming Anthem sailing is in a regular balcony (last sailing was the JS), and especially now as sail date draws near the balcony rooms are actually less than the inside cabins, simply because Anthem has so darn many balcony rooms that they can price them very low compared to other ships with less inventory. Even before that, the price gap was under $200 pp to go from inside to 4D balcony, so it was worth it to me. Long as the economics continue to work in my favor that way then I'll stick with the real thing. But if it ever changes, or I do one of those 11- or 12-night winter sailings where use of the balcony space becomes limited due to the weather the first and last couple of days, a VB interior room will make a heck of a lot more sense. Same number of C&A points for decently less money.

Joe - we liked it.  Second time we experienced the Virtual Balcony.  This time I couldn't seem to control it very well with the remote.  I couldn't get any sound this time like I could last time.  I am not sure if the sound has been disabled.  Also, I couldn't turn it on and off from the remote and I know RCCL frowns on you turning off the TV panel.  It looks to me that they really just want you to leave it on and not fuss with it.  So if you want complete darkness, the best you can do is pull the curtains as tight as you can.  On the positive side, it was nice to quickly see what the weather was outside and if we were in port yet.  Although we were on the port side, so the VB only showed us that side.  It would be cool to be able to toggle through all of the available camera feeds.  I did hear somewhere on the ship that the camera feeds were actually 4K (UHD), but the display panels are 2K (HD).  So maybe when the panels get replaced the picture quality will really be awesome.  Anyway, we enjoyed the VB more this time than our first experience.  Maybe our expectations were lower.  Either way, I would say all else equal, we would prefer the VB.

In June we had inside stateroom 12217 for a 9N cruise.  You might not call it a hidden gem, but we were seriously surprised as to just how much storage there was.  We ended up with several empty draws!  That never happens to us.  Really - never.  In fact, we liked it so much we are doing another Anthem nside stateroom this October.

So cute and clever.  You can tell you’re a teacher.  I have no imagination and would never have thought of this.  Well....plus the fact that I had no idea that you could just BUY a 3 D printer !  I thought those things were still experimental and only available to NASA scientists !  ??

I like your idea.  I do wonder how may of us would  take the time and make the effort to prepare for safety at home before leaving for a cruise trip.  But you are very right.  And, while it may be impossible to tell if advance safety preparation did any good, not having anything bad happen on your cruise just may be proof enough!
ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT:  Ship security really is everywhere.  Often closer than you think.  I know from experience and on the Freedom in fact.  Summon them if you ever need help!

We always remind the kids of our safety rules one last time before boarding.   If this family had done the same, Grandpa would have heard “no kids on railings, no leaning out windows, etc.”.   It may have made all the difference in the world. 

I want to add that I have friends who have never cruised, and they hear the parents on the news.   They seem to believe that the windows were child level, like the picture of the little girl banging on the hockey window, not up high and the open window was by the children's pool area.   I try to explain to them that the windows are not level with the deck, they are almost waist or chest high.  When I have shown them pictures they are shocked because of what they hear on the news, and they immediately see that the windows are open.   The lawyer and parents seem to be trying to convince those who have never cruised that the ship was at fault, and if listening to my friends is any indication, it is working.   I am sad the little girl died in this awful way, but angry that the parents and grandfather will not take responsibility for their actions, if they did, maybe they could teach parents to be more aware of how suddenly accidents can happen.   A friend's son-in-law drove over his daughter who was behind his car, she survived but was in the hospital recovering for weeks, he took full responsibility for his actions and told his friends over and over to always make sure your child is no where near the car, to not just take it for granted.    
 

Dan. my husband and I and my sister and brother in law will also be on this sailing. This is my first time on anthem, but I have done this itinerary quite a few times.  You will be able to use your cellphone data when the ship is in port, but not on sea days

I booked the OCT 24th version of your cruise: 9N Anthem to NE/Canada.  You shouldn't have any problem getting signal in ports.  I did the NCL Dawn back-to-back last year from Boston to Quebec City to Boston.  We stopped at most of the same ports.  I am on Cricket, which uses AT&T equipment and had no problems.  Cricket has a Canada option which I enabled last year and it worked fine too.  Not sure if I will bother with that this year with only 3 stops in Canada.  Did you find any excursion info?  I need to start looking.  I also need to make final payment as it is now due.

I love the hoody, go Pats! Laundry was always a 1st class guy, and as much as I respect Belichick, he could learn a thing about or two from Tom.

This is how NCL handles it on some of their ships.  They have two dining rooms at dinner time, one is formal all the time and one is casual.  Both serve the exact same menu.

Quick Google shows it to be hit or miss if they are reusable on next cruise. (If the new sailing honored the old band.) Hmm.
Guess it doesn't hurt to try ?

I'll check that out.  That would certainly make them more of a WOW band! ?

Sorry, poor choice of words. It's my understanding, I can bring the bands on another sailing and have them swapped (?) for bands compatible on that cruise.
