First, I couldn't care less what benefits the cabin attendant. Second, I see smaller to no tips at all for less work. And most importantly noticeable work like towel animals in evening etc. I think it's the realization that the person has come again, Making people feel special that starts the tipping thought process in many minds. They will get little to nothing from me if I see them once a day. It's the extra something that gets the extra something. I think this is a big mistake.

Alas, on my 6 day cruise, I only got 1 animal.  So sad. 

Depends though. Are you going to have 10 more special requests to manage?

I can totally identify with this. Unfortunately, DH is the sort who needs to always have something to do, so the busier the better. Then, when he's worn himself out and falls asleep on a lounger, I can get my book out! 🤣
Seriously, though, the thing that most bothers me on the big ships is having to book everything in advance. I prefer to be spontaneous.

I was just at the Captain’s corner on Ovation and someone asked about building smaller ships.
The Captain said Royal Caribbean is in the planning stage of a new class of ship. Something between Radiance and Voyager.
Has anyone heard of this?

We just completed a cruise in Europe and noticed a number of new employees.  They were all eager to please -- if they didn't know the answer to our questions, they sought out someone who did.  In the MDR, the new employees we met were very friendly and apologized for any delays that occurred (MTD was a bit of a zoo).  I imagine overall performance in all areas will get better with time.

This may explain some of the issues with food quality.  Hiring that many people requires huge investment in training.  Not everyone gets the training perfect on day 1.  In any job, there is a learning curve. 

I can tell you from experience just like on Royal Caribbean, some guests are aware in advance but most others are not. There are plenty of times people have thrown fits at the entrance to a closed ride because they had no idea it was going to be closed.
If your issue is with how maintenance gets notified to guests, I'm not going to argue with things can always be better and more transparent.
But like a theme park, cruise ships operate every day of the year and it's not unreasonable for maintenance to be necessary and areas shut down while they work on it. It stinks when it impacts your trip, but I don't believe anyone is entitled to compensation because of it.

Just like how if Splash Mountain is down for maintenance at Disney World for your trip doesn't mean you're getting any money back or compensation. Maintenance is something that has to happen. It is what it is.

I'm sure you'll find the cruise contract covers them.  I'm not aware that any space on the ship is guaranteed. 
Being pissed?  Absolutely.  Compensation?  Good luck with that.
I've seen the SeaPlex closed on a ship.  They were refinishing the floor.  Flowriders get closed when they replace the surface.  Slides are closed while they repair water leaks.  
Ship happens.  It's unfortunate but areas are sometimes closed.  Same thing occur at theme parks.  Plan to go on some special ride (to you) and it's closed!  Argh!  That's life.  

We didn't get off of Voyager in September.  Last time we were there we found the people to be pretty unfriendly, and knowing they don't want us there?  Meh ... Acadia is nice. It's not THAT nice.

Tender port.  Won't be missed. 

I put this into the same category as Charleston and Key West.  If they don't want me there, I have no regrets about going elsewhere.  No big loss for me.

I hoped you shared your complaints on your post-cruise survey. They can't make improvements at the corporate level if they never receive the feedback!

Understand that when you cruise, you are entering foreign countries. It is up to those countries, not Royal Caribbean as to whether to admit a Russian citizen and under what circumstances.

@Pattycruise yes, we have all the required information and they are 100% legal and residing permanently in the USA.  

Just my two cents: Royal has made nearly zero claims that Starlink will improve a passengers internet experience. Therefore it is only perception that Starlink will be better for the passengers; it in fact may not; it may be slightly better; or it could be substantially better...who knows? I am not jumping to conclusions about a huge improvement though. Here's why:
I believe that the change to Starlink  is primarily for the pursers office to record transactions instantaneously with shoreside, just like every other big, corporate point of sale system. There is substantial monetary gain to record sales as soon as possible. The next priority is communications to/from the bridge. Third priority? Remote monitoring of the engine room, just like the airlines do with every engine, on every plane in the air. Fourth...I'm sure every security camera onboard can now be monitored shoreside and also video archived and stored remotely shoreside as well. 
What is the priority tree on now? Fifth??? Yeah, that's for the passengers who pay $25 per day/ per device. In addition to negligible claims or promises of better performance, please notice that the Voom pricing on Starlink enabled ships is unchanged and still about $25 a day/ per device. I think we are all surprised an increase in the cost of internet somehow was ignored once it got a Starlink label put on it.
Believe it or not there is even a lower internet usage priority! You think Voom sucks in the pool or at the Schooner Bar? It's easily just as bad on Deck 0 for the crew and their segregated network. BTW, the crew are paying customers too but not nearly as much as the well heeled passengers. 
 
Who you would have thought to receive Starlink first? Coco Cay and Labadee. Installing Starlink on land would be comparatively simple, no? Also, 1050 Caribbean Way. I am sure those in the corporate office do not suffer from the same excruciating Voom experience we do otherwise they'd be jumping out of the windows daily just trying to get the afternoon Starbucks delivered.
