  1. Get a bamboo massage the first day (or another massage period). The massage was awful, the hard sell unacceptable and I hurt for the next four days and was miserable. Ditto on the pre-ordering a "surprise" for the wife. The flowers did not arrive until the second day after I told her the first day that she was getting some.
  2. The 125% from the first reschedule will stay the same, there will not be an additional 25% added for a cancellation of a reschedule. We have had 5 reschedules now from last year (wow it really is 2021) and only have received the first 25% additional monies. Wish it would keep adding up but realistically they are not going to give away the farm to keep you rescheduling. The latest blurb from the higher ups at RCCL indicates that they have had more interest and bookings now that the vaccine has come out than ever before, so I expect pricing to reflect that and go higher. Only additional extra money we have received in all this was some bonus onboard credit above and beyond the 125%. We were really, really nice to the agent at RCCL when we had to cancel the last cruise that was supposed to leave two days from now and he gave some additional OBC to use on the rescheduled cruise later in the year. Always say it pays to be nice to the people at the office and not complain and yell like so many are apt to do. My mom always said honey attracts bees better than vinegar. ?
  3. If you by measures and restriction you mean masks (we wear them so often now we don't even notice it), less crowds, more open areas and more staff per patron I'm all in. Let the "I'm not going until I can wave my freak flag when ever and where ever" stay home and I and my spouse will enjoy ourselves. We have four cruises booked throughout 2021 and I'm in-line for the vaccine as soon as it is available which will be soon here for my group in Texas. Will have our card and passports stamped "COVID-19 Inoculated" so we can enjoy life, the beach and other ports of call. Watch out 2021, here I come! ??️?️
  4. If they do what they did here locally, every other slot machine will be turned off with chairs only in front of active machines to keep the social distancing. Wipes are abundant and more attendants to sanitize the machines more often.
  5. Couple of years ago we purchased some jewelry onboard that was sold as "duty-free". Upon disembarking the ship we were greeted by a port employee who ushered us directly to the "special" customs room where they had an agent and one other couple. The other couple was tearing their luggage apart trying to find something and the agent asked us if we had the sales receipts of the jewelry items we purchased onboard. My wife, being the organized soul she is, popped open her backpack and pulled out the envelope where she keeps all large item receipts to put in our safe at home. The agent looked at us and the envelope and told us we could go on, did not even look at our declaration papers or bags. He then turned and was giving the other couple a "mild" hard time. Apparently the jewelry shops on-board give the customs folks a list of who bought what and they decided to check a few of us out. Always pays to declare and keeps receipts. The best part, the trip to the customs room skipped all the lines and we were out of customs within 10 minutes. They did not even ask us for our passports!
  6. My answer is yes. My company moved us to work at home if we need/wanted to through mid January so if we had to quarantine for 14 days after the cruise it would not be a problem. Plus I could work from the ship. I reviewed the protocols and nothing is a deal breaker for my wife and I, it pretty well follows what we a doing now except for the taking your temperature several times a day. We have been through several rounds of COVID testing with all negative and both of us are healthy with no conditions. So if they asked I would have the bags packed, preliminary COVID test scheduled and ready to go before they hung up.
  7. It would be great if this was the new normal for all buildings in the future. I know all our air is recirculated and about the only fresh air that comes in is when we enter the building and that is through double entryways. And I can attest that we are not using MERV13 air filters or even MERV8.
  8. If it applies to all sailings in 2021 then it will make up for the four we have had to cancel already this year. It would be a nice perk even though it was not their fault for not sailing. It would be even better if they awarded triple points for those of us who still have a cruise set up for late this year and are still holding out to see if we can go. It is a short one to CoCo Cay at near the end of the year so maybe we might get to go.?
  9. One late November, mid December and early January. Hoping for all three but really hoping December and January.
  10. Living in North Texas we usually drive to Galveston or New Orleans and fly to Florida or California for the others. We are scheduled with cruises out of Texas and Florida late this year and early next and do not have an issue with flying to the coasts.
  11. Was our second annual birthday cruise in January and we decided to decorate for others. Unfortunately we were in an end cabin and almost no one saw it. We will be back and bring it and others to change it up daily for the amusement of others.
  12. Still hopeful for 2 still booked for late this year and 3 so far for next year. As a strange year, I have moved almost all my vacation from this year to 2021. If the 2 this year fall through then we will move to late 2021.
  13. Our annual 2020 comp cruise that was to expire in March of 2021 was extended out to 2022. Extra time to decide when to take it. Not sure if they will offer another with the same expiration.
  14. Seen the new normal for boarding on our December short cruise. The earliest boarding time you can get is 2:30pm. Short circuits our getting on early and having lunch.?
  15. NCL also put their ships in semi cold storage so it would take them weeks to bring their ships up to have reinspected. November would be really tough for them to sail even if they started reactivation today. Gambling that the combined safety panel gets approval by end of September it would take them at least 6 weeks to bring back up and inspect the ships plus bring back the crew. November for them is a no go. We have had word that some of the crew for Royal has been contacted to report back to their ships. So I am still holding out for our end of November & December cruises. ?
  16. Congratulations on your new upcoming cruise. We know they will have a great time and next year will welcome them into the wonderful world of cruising converts. Fantastic news on the repricing.
  17. I actually called Royal direct and worked through the associate there and found the information about our cancellation. They then call my TA and authorized our refund of the taxes, port fees and insurance while I was on the line. Went a lot quicker that way. Make sure you have all your information when you call; booking number, dates, amounts, etc..
  18. As a followup on an old thread, we finally received the final refund for our cancelled cruises. The payment from our final non refunded cruise in June went through today and we are finally paid back. This is not a negative post as we had several great conversations with the Royal operators who were able to walk through all of our cancelled cruises this year and find where the delays were. They were always very friendly and it helps to be nice to them upfront and have all the data organized and ready. I am an organization nut and have all the payment and refund data for all our cruises in spreadsheets so we can access it anytime. We now look forward to our next cruises later this year and next and are optimistic that we will be able to return to the sea breezes, sandy beaches great folks we meet on our favorite form of transportation. ?️
  19. Sit 6 seats apart in the center of the theater "reserving" them for friends and family who never show up or do AFTER the show has started and have to chat and catch up during the show. Play through your putt-putt game while your ball is still on the green, no "excuse me" or anything. And then complain about it within earshot. And no I am not a slow player, they seem to be trying to set a speed record.
  20. One of my wife's good friends kept bugging us to go with her on their annual family cruise they take with all her brothers and sisters. We kept telling her we would be a "fifth wheel" on their trip but she kept at it. Finally the wife relented when another of her good friends said she would go and she cruises all the time. Sailed on Celebrity out of Miami to the Eastern Caribbean and both decided this was the vacation style we were looking for. Never have looked back and now go 3-4 times a year to make up for vacations we never took.
  21. December 7, 2020 - Mariner January 3, 2021 - Liberty May 2, 2021 - Liberty
  22. The last two refunds have been in the 10 business day range, usually over a weekend even though the refund date is dated sometime that previous week. Not sure if it is our CC company but they have not posted the refunds until late Sunday/early Monday.
  23. The pattern is every other week the prices flip flop. We base our excursions on these every other dates and so far they have been true to form. We do keep checking to make sure there is not a lower price that sneaks in. So far we have some great prices on our different stops. Just wish they would do that on the dining packages, they do not seem to budge on those prices much although their banners extol 20% and 30% off shipboard prices when the prices do not change.
