Using Loyalty benefits on Celebrity cruises
Mike.s replied to Mike.s's topic in Celebrity & SilverSea
Brilliant, that was all I nneded to justify me booking a 2023 cruise, not sure my better half is convinced that was a good reason but I've got 20 months to persuade her it was -
As it was a UK cruise in October there were plenty of available loungers on the pool deck , the inside pool and solarium were busier but we always found a couple of loungers. Nowhere on the ship felt crowded, not even We Will Rock You, though they did perform it twice.

Just spent 5 days on Anthem with 1699 other passengers, heaven

When do the summer 2023 cruises come out?
Mike.s replied to Beachgirl's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Celebrity have just released some of theirs today, Austrailia/New Zealand, Alaska, Pacific Coast and Mexico, would imagine Royal wouldn't be far behind them. -
It does for the UK, first time that I can remember it being available to us.

Excellent, it says we're working on the fun for our July sailing but at least it's not greyed out anymore

They did the same on Celebrity Silhouette in the UK when we had a case on board ealier this year
-
So it's not just us then, not sure why as we subscribe to their marketing e-mails, but then again they're pretty infrequent.

Looks like the restriction is being lifted on all sailings after 29th August, unless they've moved the goalposts again https://www.royalcaribbean.com/gbr/en/the-healthy-sail-center/getting-ready-to-cruise As a reminder all guests sailing on Anthem of the Seas between 07th July 2021 – 29th August 2021 must be a resident of the United Kingdom (including the Channel Islands & Isle of Man).

October 15th 2021, Anthem 5 nights UK

Just spent 8 days on the Silhouette, all I can say is WOW, just WOW. All the staff were so happy to see us and all went the extra mile, best service I've ever had on a cruise. We were fortunate to have a 1-1 staff to customer ratio (about 950 of each), no queues (except at the coffee shop), brilliant shows and fantastic food. Not even the British weather or Covid could spoil things. We did have a positive case in a minor, we were informed and updated the next day that all close contacts had tested negative. Loved the ship, it was our first cruise for many years without our son so we didn't miss the climing wall and family features etc. Think we'll be trying Celebrity again in the near future, but still can't wait to get back on Anthem next year. Oh and it confirmed what we all knew, we've missed cruising.

Sunblock ban/aerosol ban in the Bahamas?
Mike.s replied to Pattycruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Can't see them using "It goes on like tar and doesn't smell like a Pina Colada" as a marketing slogan ? -

2021 Transatlantic Cruises from Europe
Mike.s replied to RoyalGreek's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Anthem leaves Southampton on the 20th October heading to Cape Liberty, it's been recently reinstated on the website, wasn't there a couple of weeks ago. -
Assuming it's a recent photo I assume it's Symphony in Cadiz dry dock.

Celebrity requiring PCR test for UK cruises
Mike.s replied to Mike.s's topic in Celebrity & SilverSea
Brilliant, website has been updated again, states PCR and fully vacinated is required for sailings from the UK, not from Athens or St Maarten, seriously underwhelmed https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/healthy-at-sea/uk-travel-requirements -
Celebrity requiring PCR test for UK cruises
Mike.s replied to Mike.s's topic in Celebrity & SilverSea
Not sure that it is, it's not a requirement from the other cruise lines sailing on UK only trips, not even Royal!! Apparently (according to a Celebrity rep on Facebook, always a reliable source) it was posted in error, the final requirements for cruising have not yet been agreed. Booking a cruise during a pandemic isn't good for the blood pressure -
Just seen this posted on the celebrity website, not sure why fully vaccinated passengers need a PCR test prior to cruising? https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/healthy-at-sea/uk-travel-requirements

We'll miss it, we like to have a read through it when we return to our cabin at the end of the day to see what tomorrow brings, it's not the same on a phone
-
Can't see that you'll need one on Anthem this summer, it's only sailing around the UK and only available to UK residents.
