Hey all, just thought of something and wanted to remind you all -- If you have purchased travel insurance from a third-party, and you have a sailing that's scheduled to go close to when travel restrictions are currently estimated to end, and you haven't yet passed final payment date, take some time and give them a call to confirm a couple important things:
IF everything goes amazingly well and your ship sails on time, the itinerary isn't modified, etc. so that you do decide to sail, and you get sick with Coronavirus, will you be covered by the insurance's medical portion of the plan? If your sailing ends up canceled and you then rebook the same itinerary (or close enough for government work) for a year out, will they allow you to modify the existing policy with the new sail date, or will you have to buy a new one? I had to wait on hold for about a half-hour with Travelex, but I was able to confirm the answer to both of the above in my case was "Yes". This is a huge relief, as my final payment date is a week from now; if they had said I wouldn't be covered should one of us get sick, I would have canceled the booking now rather than wait to see what happens in August. Likewise, if I couldn't simply modify the existing policy with a new date, I'd cancel the booking now so I could also cancel the policy within their window and be able to get a full refund.
As it is, I'm now a lot more comfortable paying the final payment next week and then seeing what happens over the next couple of months.

I'm wondering if they aren't being more lenient on this policy. I'm able to buy a DBP for one of my cruises for just one of us on the Cruise Planner.  It can't hurt to call and ask.

Refreshment package went down to $22 for our Adventure OTS Holiday cruise, Dec 28, 2020. Wait, that's what it USED to be. Someone on these boards called it! They said the higher prices will be reduced to "sale" prices, reflecting the former price., i.e., Price last year was $22 (former sale would be $18.99), now regular price $32 and sale is now $22. Ummmm, no thank you, Royal Caribbean.

My October Symphony dropped to $49 DBP. I want to book it but I haven’t gotten my 125% OBC for my cancelled cruise. I’m sure by the time I get it (around April 30) the price will go back up. ? 
Pretty sure this sale is to get a flush of cash for RC. The massive delay in refunds shows to me they don’t have the money. Run a great sale=generate much needed cash.

We've had extensive discussions on the nature, susceptibility and infection rates of COVID-19 versus pretty much every contagion known to man. It always results in problems and rarely relates to cruising.

I knew this was going to happen, just was patiently waiting for an announcement specific to the actual date. Okay, with this being the case I still have 5 sailings my closest one 28 June 2020. Not sure if that one is a go BUT Sharla Manglass with MEI-Travel secured me savings on all of my future sailings due to this April promotion, so if you have reservations time to re-price! If you don't have the benefit of an amazing TA like me call late into the evening when the wait times are shorter. Here is wishing you some amazing future savings, thanks again Sharla...always looking out for us! 

The best thing everyone can do is just sit tight and once cruising opens up, we need to support them by booking and cruising as soon as possible. This is the way we all, AS ONE, can show our LOYALTY, LOVE and SUPPORT for the crew, for the cruise line and most importantly, for CRUISING!!!!

Yes, but for 2021 cruises running at $90/day that may actually be a cheaper route.  Buy the Bourbon, Gin, Vodka and Scotch with the sodas they give in the package.  Carry on your 2 bottles of wine and a case of H20.  Open up your own speak easy in your cabin, selling to your neighbors at 10 bucks a pop for mixed drinks, 5 for wine, 2 for H20! Voila you made money and now you can pay for that DBP at $90 bucks.  JK!  LOL?

Not only are cruise fares not budging but Cruise Planner prices are all topped out as well.  I guess Royal doesn’t want to collect money it will just have to turn around and refund if cruises don’t start back up soon.  It’s kind of a head-scratcher to me.  One would think that they would be happy to take in some cash on discounted Cruise Planner items (where they still make a nice profit) but they don’t seem to see it that way, I guess.  On something like internet packages, where their fee is almost 100% profit, you’d think they’d be offering a couple of deals, but nope.

I do not believe this virus is only a cruising issue, many things in our lives will change, but we have to continue living.  My late husband and I were enjoying our retirement, at age 74 he began feeling very tied and lost some weight in a matter of a few weeks.  After his doctor admitted him to the hospital and many tests, we found out he had acute myeloid leukemia and had maybe three months to live.   Our lives may change because of the virus, just like more security after 9-11, but we have to continue living.  We could die in a car crash or a plane, or die of a heart attack or cancer.  We change our life styles, or have more safety features, but we continue to go on living.
The virus is not the fault of people who cruise, stopping all cruise ships or travel in the future will not make viruses go away, germs and viruses are there.  I agree that when we have a pandemic, or even a crisis like 9-11, we have to take a step backwards, wait until it passes (after acts of nature, pandemics, wars, etc.) and move on, not stop living.   Life is to short, as we see, doom and gloom is not hope, we need hope to get us through this awful time.   
This is JMO, I am sure many people will not agree.   I accept your opinions, I just want to believe that though life may be somewhat different, we will still have dreams of life after the virus.  We cannot put our lives on hold forever.

Seriously, they just shove the two beds together. Never had an issue with a gap forming. Perhaps the mattresses are joined together.

You can even apply an FCC to a reservation that is already paid in full.  It ends up getting shot out the back side as a refund to your credit card.

I concur, just taught myself the floss dance on you tube, ( I'm ah 50+) My teenager begged me to stop, stressed and strained, mom, please just STOP!  Not sure what was more fun, the dance or the pained reaction!!
