  1. @She Sails Away When in Alesund, if activity level allows book through RC it's called Stranda Mountain Explorer. It's a bus tour that eventually takes you to a ski resort. You ride in a gondola to the top of the mountain. The transitions to the gondola are easy. There is a bit of an uphill walk from there, but it's very short and the views are breathtaking. Added bonus, there are waffles!

sadly the tortellini did not have truffles, crispy sage leaf, or small cubes of squash like in CK

At least there weren't any random peppers.....

  3. @Plasticbrain Sorry to see you go. I got to experience a Norway cruise a couple of years ago (July 2022) with @Lovetocruise2002, you can find our live blog in my signature if you are curious. I have to say, it was one of my favorite cruises to date. We visited Kristiansand, Alesund, Stavanger, and Flam. My kids continually talk about that cruise and want to go back.  Their favorite thing to eat were the waffles. I also thought they were quite tasty.

I would love to go back and hike prekestolen. We did a boat tour into Lysefjord instead, which worked out better because it was cold and rainy that day.

tbh they should expand ELF. it’s more popular than they gave it credit for

I agree. I don't think they anticipated the demand for quick tasty tacos etc. I also agree that they need to move the nacho cheese.

Its embarrassing how much time I spent in those chat rooms......

  5. I love how this blog took a quick turn to my childhood. I'm also a teen from the 90's. This made me go down a rabbit hole of all my favorite music videos on YouTube.

This made me legit laugh for a few minutes. There HAS to be a picture of hubby rocking this type of outfit.....

    now, this begs the question(s):

were they simply having a good time and… lost track of time?

were the swingers? (i have seen no pineapples on the door)

were they perhaps nocturnal? (we rarely hear from them during the day)

perhaps this is best left unanswered.......

Have a great time on Labadee. Hopefully Mother Nature took her midol.....sorry for the sexist joke....but really.....she better behave today for you.

now i am at the crown lounge and it is peaceful

I too love the ships early in the morning before it "wakes up." I tend to be an early riser too and enjoy walking around, and nice cup of coffee and as @OCSC Mike says....pre-breakfast.

I' glad you made it safely on board, and was still able to get your funnel cake. It's too bad you didn't get your full beach club lunch. I really like the food there. The people that live on the island probably ate well that night😅

THERE IS A LITERAL WALL BETWEEN ME AND HUMANITY.

i could not be more delighted 😅🤣

    and thus, we ate.

    Sounds like the perfect table!

I am going to pretend I didn't see that Aqua80 photo......

I should also mention, any time I'm in the car with my son, and The Power of Love comes on my radio, he makes me change the station because "its not the same without the aqua theater."

the mac and cheese was disturbingly good AND the bbq chicken was outstanding. i don’t know why we all sleep on portside. we can definitely do dinner there again.

also mine (the chicken + mac) was a KIDS PORTION.

    like. c’mon. 😎

Portside is so good!! I could eat there all week and be happy.....well, except I still need night 1 fillet in CK

  9. Yes you can do one way rentals. You would then have to either drop off your family at the port, and bring the vehicle to a rental return location, then uber/lyft back to the port, or drop the car and have everyone uber/lyft to the port.  You would then have to do the same in reverse to get home.

You can price this out at any of the rental agencies. There is usually a checkbox for "return to a different location"

Sometimes though, you may find, its actually cheaper to keep the car for the week, park at the port, and bring it back to the original location than it is for two one way rentals, and ride share fees etc etc. Also the convenience of just having the car there too should be factored into your decision.
