I’m also on this cruise and am slightly uncomfortable with being among the first to cruise under questionable conditions (assuming we sail) but I am brave !  Somebody has to be first !

As I'm sure @Matt will report (so this will be outdated soon haha), Royal mentioned on their earnings call during the Q&A that they will be making an announcement soon about canceling sailings through end of July.

I disagree about getting extra points for cancelled sailings.
First, it will dilute the program.  Think of it like inflation for C&A points.
Second, and more importantly, this is a situation out of RC's hands and I don't think cruisers need to be "coddled" with points as a means of making us feel better about the cruises being cancelled.
If this were a logistic gaffe and RC messed up (like the $18 drink package), yes, I can see where it makes sense for them to try to make it better.  But this is a global issue and RC is along for the ride.

I disagree as well.  You did not sail, so no points.  Book a replacement cruise & you will get the points then.
Now getting extra points by taking a FCC is a win-win for both cruise company & cruiser.

This is exactly where my thinking is at.  I'm fine with going, we need to be cautious but cannot live our lives in fear.  And it just make spending more time in my cabin the cool thing to do.  We normally hang out in there a lot anyway.  We cruise for relaxation, we don't need to do much.  I need the borders to open though.

So finally finished, just to find out the Royal would NOT honor my reservation for a Lift and Shift.  I "bought" the cruise with Marriott Vacation Club Points, and Royal told our TA that it was purchased under a certain promotion that was not eligible.  I could definitely shift it, but it would've cost me another $650 to move it (kinda defeats the purpose of the Lift and Shift program).  So, I did not Lift and Shift, I'll cruise if I can (in August) or take the FCCs if it's cancelled...  (Too much way-too-fine print I guess).  ?  I feel for my TA who spent 2.5 hours working this.

This has been the name of the game with Royal since this all began!  If you don't get the answer you want you can call back and wait another hour or so and then you get someone that MIGHT do it for you.  Wish they would shut the call center down one day just to train all of them so they all knew what was going on.  Royal never imagined or planned for call center agents working from home.

Snotarni reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Update from Royal on FCC and Refunds
I have never received a single, solitary correspondence from Royal about my 11 May cancellation (we requested 125% FCC for everything).  I think Michelle has gotten something, but I have not.  Being patient b/c I don't expect my cruise to even be officially "cancelled" until 18 May, which is the date when the 11 May cruise would have terminated.  It's such a shame to see so much chaos coming out of all of this.  It's bad enough that all of our cruises have been cancelled, but for them to have f'ed up these refunds and credits SO badly is just unsat.

We cancelled 3/10 for our 3/15 sailing.  We just got our excursion money back this past week.  I think it was Thursday.  So 5/7. ?

Freedom had her AMP refurb shortly before the stuff hit the fan with Covid-19, so she's got a lot more new shiny than Adventure right now -- Playmakers, Lime & Coconut, etc.. I would get on her in a heartbeat if given the chance at no extra cost!

Not sure what agency you are working with but I can tell you that we have seen so many mistakes on the FCCs, questions on the Lift and Shift, prices changing - always good to have someone in your corner to help navigate you thru all this.  The wait times to get to a live person at Royal is well over an hour and a half so while I know the waiting on replies from your TA can seem like it is taking forever, at least you are not holding listening to the advertisement over and over again - not to mention finally reaching someone to then have the call dropped or disconnected when they go to transfer you to the department you need.  I know this is happening on Consumer side and to the TA side.  Way too many people having to call in all at one time.

They could sail on cruises that depart out of the US.
In addition, the 100 day no sail order can be rescinded at any time through at least 3 different means. So you shouldn't look at it as "written in stone".

So far L&S has been a huge bust for us.  The folks taking the calls appear to be incredibly overwhelmed and uninformed.  We have been denied shifting 3 cruises; 2 times each. What has been published on the Royal website has not been honored in practice.

Will verify that the HOLD TIMES ARE INSANE!  Took one of our agents over 6 hours in two days to get FCCs applied to a reservation before final payment was due.  I know all TAs no matter what company they are with are working 3 times as hard to make changes at Royal than they ever did before.  We will all get thru this together!

I'm trying for the 4th time to get L&S.  I get thru to the TA quick enough, it's just the long, ridiculously long, hold times for her to get thru to RCCL.   Been on hold since 10:05am; we'll see. ?

I don't see it happening ..... if they were to test all passengers before boarding, it would kill the business.  Nobody will book a cruise, make the investment in airfare, hotel, etc and run the risk that they could be turned away at the last minute....and if someone tests positive, what about those in the terminal near that person?
People (myself included) will just say, No Thank You, not worth the hassle, I'll just use the $$ for a land based vacation, or, perhaps, an all inclusive.
Now, as @whitsmom just mentioned, for crew, not passengers.  That makes a lot more sense.
