Very disappointing - And no mention of the double status credits compensation in that letter!

The Transpacxific cruises were cancelled and also the NZ Oct 16th 
Attach is the letter from guest relation. It is addressed to guests on the Quantum even though I was on the Ovation.
They aHave cancelled Quantum, Serenade, and 2 x Ovation
So sad and frustration, was really looking forward to a 28 day B2B to make up for all the lost time

With all that is going on with our various Premiers and Health advisers, there is no way there will be Australian cruise season. 
The games politicians are playing with all our lives is disgusting.
I am fully vaccinated but stuck in lockdown in NSW and I can't travel to visit my sister six hours north, let alone my ill dad in WA. This is not right, why bother getting vaccinated if I am not free to live my life. 
Sorry to turn the conversation away from cruising. Looking at and reading all about how well Royal and Celebrity are moving forward, I would feel so safe on a cruise; more so than going to my local shopping centre where certain types don't wear masks. 
Waiting for Royal to officially cancel my next two cruises, one is now only 88 days away. This will be our seventh cancelled cruise and my disappointment is turning into frustration; not with Royal; they are a business. but with our elected officials. 
      

Welcome to the blog and to sailing with Royal Caribbean.  
Before the COVID pause in cruising, the Suites Lounges for the Oasis class ships had an open bar from 11AM - 11PM where suite guests and Pinnacle Crown & Anchor members could enjoy a limited selection of beer, wine, water, soda and juices.  It is not clear if that same level of service will be available on the ships once cruising resumes. So the answer to your question is....we really do not know right now if this will be the case or not.
Whether or not you need a DBP is certainly a personal issue.  We do not find it particularly convenient to go back up to the Suites Lounge (SL) to get a drink, if you are in a different part of the ship.  We nearly always get the DBP b/c it gets us just about anything to drink that we could possibly want.  It includes alcohol, water, soda, specialty coffee, fresh squeezed juice, wine, beer.  It is a "convenience" thing for us...plus we know that we have already paid for all of our drinks before we board the ship.  No big surprise bills at the end.  So if you want to be able to get a drink of your choice at any and anywhere, the DBP may be a good choice for your group.

Not so when it comes to lobster tails! ?

My waiter on the Harmony in 2017 must have realized that I was going to order A LOT of lobsters, so he probably told the kitchen to stop the fancy plating by Lobster #4...

... and just brought me a plate of lobster tails.

Laughed as I read it, because my very first cruise on Freedom in 2018 had our waiter come to the table the night before lobster night, purely to ask each of us how many lobster tails we expected to eat. I told him four, and just like your picture above I was given a full plate and a plate of just tails.
And then 20 minutes later, when he saw both of my plates were empty, he brought another three tails and set them in front of me. Not in the middle of the table for sharing. In front of ME.
Of course I ate them. It would be rude not to. But in the back of my head, I was seeing that scene from Bill & Ted where the server is standing behind Napoleon and chanting, "Who's a piggy? Who's a piggy?!?" ?

We’re on Adventure now and fortunate to so far be completely unaffected by Elsa. Just a couple of notes:
1. We’re staying here at the CocoCay pier overnight. Pretty sure all previous cruises have left and come back. Some seem to think it means we have enough fresh water, or maybe it could be weather related?
2. Last night for the 4th, we were floating next to Odyssey for the fireworks. A decent amount of smoke was surrounding her on the starboard side. Hearing today that there may have been a fire at the Seaplex but haven’t been able to find it here or verify it any other way.
3. Last night was pretty amazing out here. Seeing all the other ships while we rolled up was incredible. As we all gathered on the top deck, it was certainly the most “normal” feeling I’ve had in the past 16 months. Just so great to see cruising back and Royal making a big statement!
If we come across anything else interesting, I’ll post it here.

Our biggest fear is that we have both had the two Astra shots but the USA don't recognise that brand. I know things will change but I would be shattered getting to the US in Jan for our series of cruises only to be knock back by Royal. This is assuming we can get out of the country by then. I hate all this uncertainty. 
Fingers crossed we open a bubble with Singapore and can jump onto the Quantum for a cruise or two before the end of the year. 

So sad, we booked an Oct and Nov. I wish the Government would at least talk about a plan but too busy locking down the state of NSW for 82 cases. 

This is the problem. Locking down over small number of cases is not conducive to starting cruising. We as a country are not learning to live with COVID properly. This suppression/lockdown cycle is getting us nowhere. 

It's the vaccines that will get us somewhere. Until that gets rolled out substantially, lockdowns will continue.

I am assuming our Transpacific in April will be cancelled eventually which will be very disappointing as the whole extended family was going.
Even though we are fully vaccinated it is very frustrating but being able to plan anything with any certainty.

Cruising from the US has been such a roller coaster ride... that isn't finished yet... but does seem to be past the wildest parts of the ride... I hope.

Sometimes you wonder why they bother sending through a statement like that. 
I am reliably told that Royal will announce cancellations of all their Australaian cruises up until the 31st December. No word on after that time. So two more cancellations, FCC, and all the casino comp negotiations; what a nightmare
