CruisingOz got a reaction from Neesa in Bath Robe on Pool Deck
In my experience, the people that wear the robes on the pool deck tend to strip off revealing quite inappropriate swimmers for their age, leaving not much left to the imagination. Please keep the rode on, there are images that can never be erased. LOL

Well that's a shame. NC and Lifou still open for business:

CruisingOz reacted to wavejumper in Bora Bora Will Not Allow the Ovation
Thanks CruisingOz. From my reading, that is the more developed area for picking up tours and going ashore for self-led exploration around town. We have tentatively booked a Saturday glass bottomed snorkeling boat tour w lunch included, and a Sunday vehicle tour to the fruit juice plant, flower garden, farmers market, etc.
Papeete on Monday looks to be a walk about in the town that's adjacent to the dock.

Masks will no longer be required in cruise terminals when Royal cruises recommence.

Moorea was already on those itineraries, so does that mean 2 day stop?
No, it is an added sea day and to ease the pain they have given the guests $100 on-board credit as compensation, which is a nice gesture considering it wasn't Royals fault. I can fell a 4am casino night, pizza with the dealers and a sleep in. Shh, don't tell the wife.

Hmmmm....I checked the CruisingPower website and it is showing all categories as "closed". I can't really guess what that means, but it is reminiscent of the way the cruises used to look whenever they were being COVID-cancelled. I'm not trying to alarm anyone. It might just be that the cruise truly IS completely booked but this kind of ship-wide status has, in the past, been an omen.
I sure hope everything is ok....this would be super late to be cancelling a cruise. Perhaps they're just updating something with the cruise database and have temporarily closed it. That has happened in the past as well.

Same thing happened to my sailing a few weeks ago. It still showed in my cruise planner though and also on the app. A few days later it reappeared on the RCCL website.

Did you have to declare your vaccination or anything?
-
CruisingOz reacted to F1guynz in Australia/NZ Cruising News
I had to upload the vaccine certificate listing all the doses we had and what dates. Royal must check them and a few hours later I got an email saying we were officially ready to board

In the article it said Royal’s sending management there , I think you should be OK.
Hopefully while RC management is there they might do something about getting Lelepa on the move.

First quantum out of Brisbane is supposed to do Vanuatu but is a week earlier than those dates. Bit disappointing but no word yet on change of itinerary.

It was the same for the upcoming Quantum. It too changed to 1pm
We also got the 1pm boarding for the Ovation, but we are B2B, so curious if we will be allowed to board earlier and have our complimentary Chops lunch. Also this would effect the Key guests.
The latest check in time on the app is 6.00pm, but the email we got today say to be on board by 4pm. You think the various department's would talk to each other?
See you around the ship

Old ships have to do a technical dry dock every 2.5 years.
Unless something changes the authorities define "old" as 20 years. Once 20 they can no longer use an annual bottom survey as a mean to supplement the dry dock schedule of 2.5 years like "new" ships can. She launched in January 2002.
Her amplification was Feb 2019. In April 2021 (during the shutdown) she went into dry dock to get shore power added to be California CARB compliant and presumably for some other technical work.
I see a break in her schedule Feb 12, 2024 through April 12, 2024 which would be in the natural dry dock cycle from the Feb 2019 dry dock. She has four LA based cruises after that break in her schedule.
Singapore would be a presumed shipyard for a spring 2024 visit. They could easily dump those four April 2024 LA based cruises and redeploy her after a spring 2024 dry dock. It would be odd to send her through Hawaii down to Oz and then send her to Singapore for a dry dock. If this Feb -Apr 2024 break is for a dry dock I would think they would send her direct to Singapore empty and then do something with her rather than bringing her back to LA.
Time will tell.

Yes sure is. Email received today Eden cancelled on my Nov 9 Quantum cruise. Swapped with an overnight in Sydney instead. Interesting thing is that on the 2nd day Quantum has to move out to the "ancourage" in Sydney Harbour as the Overseas Passenger Terminal has Majestic Princess that day.
