The US has fallen well behind the rest of the world with that border vaccination requirement, which is disappointing.

How is this even a thing still? A year and a half ago US was amending laws to get around Canada’s strict vaccination policies so cruises could go to Alaska. But even Canada got rid of the vaccine requirement for entry many months ago but the US still hanging on. A quick google search tells me there are currently 96 countries with no vaccine requirements to enter……can US come in at 97th?!

I love those stone beds. However, I really don't like where they are on most Royal Caribbean ships.  I like a heated bed with an ocean view.  When they put them in a room facing a wall ... well, the experience just takes a total dive for me.  I think the only ships that have a few facing a window are on Radiance-class ships, which is so disappointing.

That is my wife’s problem with Royals thermal spa as well. It is almost like an afterthought. Unfortunately, this is the reason we are booking less Royal these days as the thermal spa is one of the biggest draws for her to cruising and other lines do it so much better.

  3. I’m not 100% sure but I believe it may actually be cheaper because they are usually running a promotion on the first day. I believe that’s why she waits till getting on board to book.
If it’s not cheaper then it would be around the same price. We are Canadian so the cruise planner price is in Canadian (higher price) and when we book on board it is in USD so that may be why it seems cheaper. I’ve never paid that close attention to it.

It's so complicated that I'm really having a difficult time making a determination. I know Allianz is very comprehensive, but the devil really is in the details. I read the credit card coverage and it's difficult to find all the "covered reasons" and exclusions. I'm sure I'll figure something out but it isn't made very easy. Thanks for the input.

This is on purpose. The amount of legalese in any policy is designed to confuse you, which may lead you to not file a claim. Or to give the insurance company an out. They will never give you a simple bullet point list of what their coverage is because they are in the business of making money, not helping people and paying out claims.

We are a family of 4 looking at a cruise, however there are no accommodating connecting rooms or rooms listed for 4.

My questions is since we co sleep with our youngest already and our second child is pretty young and can use the couch.. would anyone say anything if we only actually occupied 1 of the rooms?

You shouldn't need a second room if your 2 children are that young. You should be able to get a room with a pull out couch and only pay for 1 room

I hate these articles that say he "fell overboard"

No one simply falls overboard.  To go overboard one:

    1) Wanted to jump

    2) Was pushed by someone else

    3) Was doing something very stupid and felt the consequences

Totally agree! I’ve seen several accounts of this story but not one says how he went overboard. That’s an important part of the story as far as I’m concerned as one does not simply fall.

regardless, the fact he was located (in the darkness no less) when they had no idea where it happened is nothing short of miraculous

No there isn't. Aqua 80s, CATS and Frozen in Time are all there is. As far as I know, there are no known plans to add an original production show. (a shame, CATS is blech)

Thats unfortunate. The Oasis class all used to have 1 broadway and 1 original production show. I have no interest in seeing Cats again but was hoping for another show. I am looking forward to Auqua80 and Frozen in time

Yep.  Sailed five lines since the restart.  Some of them before the restart.  Looking at other lines for some bucket list destinations where I don't want a mass market experience.

I do really enjoy the on board experience with Royal.  I'm just tired of every booking turning into drama pre-cruise.

Could not agree with you more. I love the onboard experience from Royal but am no longer loyal. Each cruise line has some things better than other lines and some things worse but I am enjoying different variety.
