When I saw the thread title, I was like... "They have a 15 year old passport and they want to bring it?"
That crossed my mind as well......lol

I know this has affected some Canadian cruisers wanting to sail out of the USA
Interesting story on this. Most land border crossings have not been checking for this. Recently some friends of friends (1 who is unvaccinated) drove across the border and flew to Miami to take a cruise on Odyssey. The focus was on getting across the border from Canada into the US since Royal is not checking for getting on ships and Canada doesn't require it coming back across. They got into the US at the land border no problem and figured they were home free.
What never crossed their mind (nor mine as I knew they were doing it) was that they had to go through US customs again coming off the cruise ship in Miami. She was detained for 2 hours while the custom agents figured out what to do. They eventually just let them go (probably because no one really gives a crap about the outdated requirement).

Many airlines offer the option to pay for a status level. Any experts know if RCCL is considering such an option?
We’re about 4 points away from D+ and would like to enjoy the benefits on our next cruise versus having to wait for the cruise after that sailing. For a reasonable amount per point I would be willing to pay. TIA.
Yes, its called purchasing another cruise.

Living in northern New England, most cruise ports are a long day’s travel from home… before any travel delays
I hear that. I’m from Vancouver Canada so have to traverse the continent when cruising from Florida but on the plus side we gain 3 hours going home

Everyone here, myself included, loves to get on a cruise ship as early as possible on embarkation day to begin enjoying the ship and everything it has to offer. The downside to this is on disembarkation day we are kicked off the ship much earlier than I think most of us would like so the next passengers can get on early. I’m curious how many here would like more lines to adopt Virgin Cruises schedule where the earliest embarkation time you can get is 1 or 2 pm but you don’t need to disembark until 10 or 11am?

I may be wrong but I believe MSC does some Caribbean cruises (not originating in US) where there passengers started or ended their cruise in various ports along the way. I vaguely remember seeing a video about this.

The refreshment package allows mock tails. My question is and please don’t judge. Can my grandson age 13 also get a Mocktail? In my mind they are alcohol free. I will call Royal Carribean if I can’t get an answer here. Thank you so much for your time.
Yes he can. As there is no alcohol in them there is no issue.

19 pools?! Wow! I would love that. I wonder if you'll actually be able to get a chair by the pool then.
19 pools is somewhat misleading. This number includes kiddie splash pools and whirlpools

That is the same with my husband and I. I have learned not to ask to keep peace in our relationship. I am a tell all girl while he won't say boo about anything personal to a stranger much less a room full of strangers.
My wife and I are the same way lol. She is an over sharer and I am the far opposite. I love to watch the show though

I do a lot of the 1 way pacific coastal cruises as well. These are reasonably priced, only require 1 way airfare and I'm happy just to be on a ship.

And 5-years ago, with Royal, we cruised Seattle-Astoria-San Francisco-Victoria-Seattle. Even in the summer, it was not a warm weather cruise, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If they used Ovation or Quantum with both adult and family fully enclosed solariums, as well as the seaplex and 270, there is still plenty to do regardless of the weather. There are ships doing year round trips in the UK which has a very similar climate.

I LOVE THIS IDEA.
I wish Royal did more cruises from the west coast. When are they going to notice that sailings on Navigator are 100%+ more often than not? We have so few choices that it's constantly Navigator - Navigator - Navigator for us. It's kind of forcing me to look at other lines to get a bit more variety on this side of the country. Still, love Navigator, love the convenience of driving to port or taking a quick flight over, and love not having to fly to the east coast!Don't tell anyone here but I do the Mexican Riviera itinerary on other cruise lines as well just to mix it up.........

I've mention it before many years ago and understand not really feasible because of distances but I would love to see roundtrip year round options out of Seattle (preferably Vancouver but Seattle is close enough). Itineraries would be limited as well but doable in 7 days. Seattle, sea day, sea day, San Fran, Santa Barbara or LA, sea day, sea day/ late evening Victoria (to satisfy PVSA), Seattle. Could also do 8-12 night itineraries as well with more options.
I do also enjoy the 7 night Navigator itineraries as well though. It is also a short easy flight from Vancouver, just not quite as convenient as a short drive.

We were once on a sailing with a very large group of MLM 'entrepreneurs'. They were very loud and disruptive and took over a lot of spaces. Didn't let it ruin our vacation, we just found other places to be.

I can confirm that Canada has no vaccination/testing requirement at all for arriving into Canada so not sure why that was put into effect.
On a side note. I am cruising from Vancouver to Alaska in early may and need to show proof of vaccination because cruising to the US. My how the script has flipped from 2021.

I see this string is kinda old, hoping someone can still answer this. We are thinking of getting therms suite couples pass for 7 day cruise. Is it really unlimited? Can I go any day and any time? Can I go twice in a day? For as long as we want? When I try to purchase in cruise planner, it makes you pick a time, is this the time you have to go any day or can I go a different time?
thanks
With the pass you can go any day any time that they are open (usually 8-8). You can go multiple times a day. The picking a time at purchase is only because of Royal's low budget IT.

We also bring sanitizer to use after getting our food and before we begin eating.

The price will be whatever the market will bear. With the price of 'add-ons' at Coco Cay I'm not holding my breath that this will be within my budget. There seem to be a lot of people out there with a lot more money than me. Either that or people are blowing the budget on 1 vacation. Myself, I prefer to go more much more frequently and not break the bank on 'extras'.

Pardon my ignorance but what reason (benefit) would the cruiseline have for throttling the speed?

Brand new ships vs. Amplify older ones
in Royal Caribbean Discussion

I'm sure Royal would love to amplify all their ships, and I would love for them to do it. However, I am not prepared to have cruise fares triple in price to cover it
