Don't miss Three Sequins and a Feather in the main theater.
It's a small ship with a big heart. The crew like the ship because they become one big happy family. If you let them they'll welcome you into their family.
The crew parade of flags is usually a lot of fun. It's great to all the nations that come together and function as a team, a lesson the rest of us could use to learn.
The Schooner Bar is central to a lot of activities like trivia.
Chops Grille is one of the best in the fleet if you like specialty dining.
The casino is smoke free so that's a huge plus. The only one in the fleet and it means the casino bar is a great alternative when the Schooner Bar is busy or has trivia going on if you are not into trivia.
Did not know that the casino is smoke-free. May need to reconsider Empress for a future cruise

We find dancing as well as dressing up for dinner very romantic. One does need to search for the best venues for the preferred style of dancing (we prefer ballroom).
Dressing up for dinner on the ship, is something we enjoying doing. We dress up, so little in our daily lives and it changes up the routine

We missed Coco Cay last weekend on Sunday on Mariner so we had a sea day. I've seen on FB that Allure folks going to Labadee, that'd be a pretty great alternate in my opinion.
Yes, I've seen a number of facebook posts that were again going to Labadee, still a beach day, but missing that beautiful pool

I've had this happen a few times. I usually go up to the pool desk and just enjoy the peace and quiet and stroll along the outerdeck.

You can, but they will hold it for you until the end of the cruise - you can't bring it back to your cabin. I believe they deliver it to your cabin on the last night (so you can pack it).
yep they hold it until the last night and then bring it to your room

I believe the special cups are for the Coke freestyle machines. She can get a soda anywhere, no cup needed unless she uses the machine.
Yes, just show the bartender your sail and sign card and it will have a sticker that says soda package on it and they will give you a glass of whatever pop you want. To use the Coke freestyle machines, you need the special glass, which has a microchip in it that will active the machine.

Just sailed on Allure last week as a first time* cruiser. It was great (I will recap more later) but we ran into one issue I wanted to ask about.
When we arrived at Port Everglades Sunday, after exiting and getting through customs, I tried to get on my phone to call a Lyft ride. My phone showed several bars of Verizon coverage but the Lyft app would never connect. Other apps didn't work either or were very slow. My family tried to get the Lyft app on their phones but the download through Google Play reported it would take 22 hours it was going so slow.
I walked around to try and get a better signal with no luck. I wasn't sure what to do and we had a plane to catch in Miami so we ended up taking one of the van services that was set up there.
I have not seen mention of this before here. Has anyone else had trouble with no/slow cell networks upon arrival into port?

I have verizon and never had any issues in Port Everglades, we're been through the cruise terminal 3 times in the last 2 yrs

They are very small brown bread rolls with poppy seeds on top. If you Google "Royal Caribbean savory bites" and then click the images tab you will find lots of pics. They used to be a standard in the MDR but now you can only get them by asking specifically for them. I can take them or leave them but my SIL really likes them.
Thanks for the inform. I checked the images on the web and they look good. Will need to askfor them on our Freedom cruise this March during spring break in the dining room. This will be about 3 weeks after Freedom has been amped-up leaving out of San Juan.

Of course they will...they all will...just takes one cruise line to be the brave one and take any heat for increasing them...then the rest of the sheep can follow shortly after.
Airlines do the same thing

I hope it's very similar to Coco Cay, I absolutely love what they did there!
Agreed. Labadee is getting somewhat tiresome. I love a good beach day, but some new things ,especially a pool, would be nice to have and better food would be nice, as well.

DH and I just returned from a 6 night cruise on Adventure with stops at George Town in Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico (and 2 sea days).
This won't be a full blog as I don't want to put everyone to sleep (it was pretty low key without our kids), but I thought I'd give a short review and some thoughts.
To date, I've been on Grandeur, Voyager...many years ago, and in more recent years Allure, Mariner, Independence, Symphony, Navigator, and now Adventure. Thus, I can give some comparisons, and we've almost done all of the Voyager class ships.
Following as well. We were deciding between the Adventure and Freedom for this upcoming March 2020 cruise to the ABC islands, leaving out of San Juan to the Southern Caribbean. We decided on Freedom, primarily due to its size and its a newer ship with it being newly amped up, compared to Adventure. Curious about the dining and open deck areas in particular.

Does anyone know if we're allowed to have more than 6 people at the thrill waterpark cabana? We have 8 in our group, but not all of them want to do any waterpark stuff. I'm not sure if you need a waterpark wristband to get to the cabanas though, or if it's only for the rides. We'd like to all hang out there while the kids run around and play if that's an option.
You need the water park passes to access the cabana in the water park. Bummer, I know

The prices have been fluctuating a lot lately. We have what we want sorted for our time there. The waterpark cabana still holding at $499 compared to $999 when they 1st came available to book. Being our 1st RC cruise and 1st time to Coco Cay we decided to pay the extra for the passes and a personal space for our family to hang out. Definitely not elite over here, just splurging a little on vacation.
We have a cruise on Harmony of the Seas in June 2020 (2 adults + 2 kids) and our cabana in the water park,, which we are sharing w/ another couple (2 adults) is priced at $999.00 + water park passes has been at this price for about 5 months now and I'm not expecting it to lower in price. Its a bit pricey, but when we are returning next year on Allure, we'll probably skip the cabana. Its a nice, item to have , but not wouldn't ruin our trip, if we don't have one. We went to Volcano Bay at Universal Studios last year and it was a nice perk to have, since it did rain for an hour or 2 in the afternoon.

I am debating on going to Maya Key or Mayan Princess in Roatan. Anyone done one or both of these?
My initial thought is to do Maya Key because it would be fun to take a quick boat vice a bus, some history (even if it is replica) and the monkeys. Maya Princess has a great review on the blog so not sure.I reserved Mayan Princess during one of the sales making it slightly cheaper than Maya Key but very comparable so price is not an issue in the decision.
Thoughts? Thanks!!!
Our family (2 adults + 2 kids - 14 yrs and 8 yrs) went to Mayan Princess in Roatan last year during spring break on Symphony of the Seas and it was a nice experience. It was a 20 minute bus ride to the resort. We had beach chairs + umbrella, unlimited drinks from the bar (limited bar menu, which was 3 beer choices, about 10 mixed drinks, and soda). Lunch was ok, nothing special,: hamburgers and hotdogs for the kids, chicken w/ rice and beans for the adults and a salsa bar + chips. We were there for about 4 hrs. The beach was very clean, great for swimming and the sand was very soft (no rocks) for the kids. It was also nice to walk along the shoreline. Would recommend the excursion, which we purchased through RC.

I complain on every survey about the smoke in the casino. I always plan to gamble, walk in then pretty much walk right back out. It’s the people who flock there just to sit and smoke and drink. They’re not even at a table or machine. It’s awful.
Same with me and my wife. We mention it on the survey with every cruise
Does anyone have photos of the vendor booths on Coco Cay?
