I use MEI!   I was just trying to get some information without bothering Sharla because I know she's swamped right now.

Thank you.  You are correct.  I should have said FCC, not refund.  I do not expect a refund for either, a FCC and a Future Air credit, perhaps?

    Good morning, all.
My DH and I leave Sunday on the Oasis of the Seas.  We are very excited!  I sailed in a GS on Harmony with a friend in August and it was wonderful!  DH has never been on an Oasis class ship or in a suite.  I bid through Royal Up and won with a slightly above minimum bid (still on the lowest part of the weak scale)  a Crown Loft suite.  I think DH is going to be in shock-I haven't told him.  We have the $18 DBP-thank you intern.  We do not have the UDP and have not made any specialty reservations.  I really like CK, and we plan to eat there every evening.
Having said all that, I am a boring person and won't be taking a computer with me, so I will not be blogging.  But if anyone has any particular questions, let me know, and I will do my best to find the answers.  When I return, I will certainly give my impressions on the difference in experience in a loft vs. a GS.

If the day is clear and you have extra time, you may also enjoy the Mount Roberts Tramway.  I would not pre-book, but it was a fun "add on" to our day in Juneau.

? After the last vacation with the whole family, my 15 year old daughter remarked to me (in regards to my mother) in a sotto voce aside: This is not a vacation. It's driving somewhere else to complain about things...
My mom isn't a horrid person but she tends to always focus on the things that aren't perfect versus the stuff that is good. That can be exhausting after a few days in that she is always polite to staff but when it's just us she wants to replay every moment and offer her critique. At least she is nice to them and only complains to us. Still. Exhausting.

Food quality is equal.  I like the combination of specialty quality food with a consistent serving team. Best of MDR traditional experience with specialty restaurant food.

    Cruise Summary
This cruise was a pretty fantastic experience overall.  New Zealand is pretty amazing and every port was very welcoming.   Sydney was a great city to start from.
A couple of days pre-cruise to adjust to local time was perfect.  In general terms I haven't found the time changes to be that hard on the system on either end.  The long flight helps the transition.
I was able to use credit cards in most cases so there wasn't a need for a lot of cash.
Third time on Ovation.  I'm very comfortable with Quantum class and it was a good fit for this cruise and the environmentals around New Zealand.  Tendering wasn't an issue, they seem to have this down to a science on Ovation.  In fact they did a better job tendering on Ovation than Vision did on a recent cruise with a tender port.
I booked this cruise for the ports of New Zealand yet the time in Fiordland was the highlight of the cruise.
This was a photo intensive cruise.  Picture stats: 4,828 pictures taken, 870 posted.
I hope you enjoyed following along and I thank you for viewing.
PS - some menu pictures coming soon.

Ok, first, if you're reading a forum where people are shaming other people, leave that forum.  That's unnecessary.  We don't do that here. There's no reason for you to feel badly about a cruise like that.
$50 is plenty because it truly is on top of what is expected.  If you WANT to leave more, that's fine - if you want to leave less, there's nothing wrong with that either.  I've left less, I've left more, depending on my particular room steward.

I am sailing on March 1, so I got my acceptance with 17 days to go.  On this and other boards, I have seen people get accepted as early as 45 days out and as late as 24 hours out.  As far as I can tell, it is random.  Best of luck.
I was happy with what I had and to me, the randomness was sort of fun.  I enjoyed checking every now and then to see if anything had changed.  I used the theory that "you can't win if you don't enter".  As far as randomness of room location, I think most of the categories you mention are in good locations.  I am not sure how we will like having the handicapped bathrooms (we got an accessible suite-which I feel a little guilty about) , but I know we will enjoy the extra space in our suite.  We also have an elevator, which I find amusing because I positively hate elevators and go out of my way to take stairs whenever possible.
