I agree, when you step foot on the ship after walking up the gang way and a smiling face welcomes you aboard.  

Well everything but that is not the real question. I love when you first enter the ship, first walk onto the ship, that to me is when vacation officially begins and this is my home for 7 days. God I love Royal Caribbean!

So I have folks in my neighborhood (Harbor Inlet Neighborhood) in Fort Lauderdale that see the ships coming in and out on a daily basis and are fuming mad that “cruises are still operating”. Literally people so uninformed as to believe that cruises are coming into Fort Lauderdale and leaving with passengers. I’ve had to explain to my neighbors and friends that these people they see on the ships going out the inlet are in fact crew members not in uniform. Interesting to note we are seeing lots of ships come in for fuel & provisioning then heading back to anchor off shore. 

I miss everything.   The excitement of embarkation day, the first drink by the pool, getting to see our room for the first time, first night in the dining room, and so on.
But one thing that particularly stands out for me is watching the sun go down, the stars come out, smelling the clean ocean air, and watching the wake drift lazily behind the ship.  Such a calm and peaceful experience (for me anyway).

After breakfast my GF and I took an inventory and headed into Penticton to do groceries so we wouldn't have to go back, The guys and teen1 went on a 2 hour walk around Kaleden, Teen2 was working on his brain being pickled with his screens...... or maybe a nap as they stayed up VERY LATE? OR got up VERY EARLY?
We were able to find a golf course that was open
Osoyoos Desert Sands Golf Course and we got a tee time of 3:10pm.... that is late as we needed to have the carts back by 6:30pm. Unfortunately there was a group of 6 ahead of us. We were not happy as this really slowed our play down as we had hoped toget all 18 done.... Oh well we ended up getting 15 done! The wind really picked up while we were golfing (started at about 15'C and by the time we were done it was 9'C and very windy!)

The teens also emerged from their basement suite! This house is very neat.... Upstairs we have a king bedroom with closet, queen bedroom with dresser and tv, downstairs has a queen bedroom and then a queen foldout couch. Both up and down have full kitchens and bathrooms, upstairs has a tub, downstairs has a shower stall. Our favourite place is the beautiful deck with the lake view!

@CHRIS WONG You described a weird feeling regarding your Day 5 vlog, and those of us following you certainly feel the same. We have been very grateful for the perspective you have been giving, and hope this does not mean that the company is planning a longer suspension. On land, it can feel like there is no end in sight. We prefer to think positive and do what needs to be done. God bless, and hang in there...I hope you keep us informed...and thank you for your posts.

Oasis of the Seas in 2017. Eastern Caribbean itinerary. We had 12 people (all family) and just had a great time. Highlight was chartering a boat in St Thomas for the day, snorkeling with sea turtles and then lunch on St John. All cruises are awesome but this one was the best. 

Favorite cruise was Alaska on Ovation. Nothing better than just lounging and watching the beautiful scenery go by!

Have been on Oasis 3 times. Currently booked on Symphony for May. I just love Oasis class. Started on Song of America and have sailed several RC ships and Oasis I just live. Trying Odyssey October 2021. It’ll be my first Quantum class. 

My favorite cruise was on Allure of the Seas in September 2017 during Hurricane Irma. Although it negatively impacted many people and islands, it was a wonderful extended cruise for us. It was a great way to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. We vlogged our cruise experience, which you can view HERE.

Every single cruise has special memories of time with family and/or friends...I can't name just one.

My favorite ship specifically is the Adventure of the Seas and generally is the Voyager Class from RCCL.  I've been on Voyager Class ships several times.  The layout is great and the size is perfect from my view..
My favorite cruise is without a doubt January of 2007 on the Carnival Legend.  It was Ships and Dips 1 (Barenaked Ladies Cruise).  I've written about it here before.  The Barenaked Ladies remain a favorite of many in my family and they gave an up close and personal experience to the passengers on the ship that week.  There was the Barenaked at Sea photo, and it was there that my brothers and I met the band Gaelic Storm, a band that is not just our favorite band... a great band, but has become friends to our family.  A band that is played at every family party.  My parents, who are in their 80s, saw them live last year and loved it.  My mom said she had to see them and meet them to thank them, specifically Patrick Murphy the front man, for their friendship and care during my brother's illness and ultimate passing.  Bands and celebrities don't care, but Gaelic Storm does.  Go see them live.  It is unforgettable.
 

Our first cruise was amazing and where we caught the cruise bug. It was part of our honeymoon and we sailed on the Disney Wonder back in June 2004. We were not sure if we would like cruising ?, so we went with the Disney Land & Sea package. Needless to say, Disney set the bar very high!
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed every cruise to date on Royal and are definitely loyal to Royal and look to book with them first. Best balance of variety, quality and value in our opinion (and newest/best maintained large fleet). We never feel disappointed or cheated with Royal. Each cruise seems to be better than the last somehow! We would consider other lines (Disney again, NCL, etc.), but have not been tempted to date.
Our favorite cruise was our last on Allure back in May 2019. We stopped at Labadee, Falmouth/Jamaica, and Cozumel. Our first Oasis class cruise was epic! What also made it more enjoyable was that we went with good friends. Not that a cruise with family is not enjoyable, but one with only friends is completely different for sure! 
Hoping our upcoming 5/31 Oasis cruise is not canceled! We were supposed to be in Nassau on our anniversary date (6/4). May have to book a backup just in case in OCT. My wife and I are going alone on this one. We also can’t wait for our 4/24/21 cruise on Symphony... back with our friends from the Allure cruise... we affectionately refer to that upcoming cruise as “Epic II” the sequel!

We made dinner, relaxed with a couple of bottles and wine and called it a night. It was a long day travelling and we were exhausted! We had a time change too so we lost an hour which made us even more tired! Good night! I will be better tomorrow I hope ?

We have arrived! We are staying at Spanish Mid Century Villa on Skaha Lake in Kaleden BC. We found this through Airbnb and Jay is our host!!! Oh my goodness what an amazing individual. He is so kind! For the love of all that is Holy & Healthy, let's be positive for once, just one positive thread, please? I have written the CEO & the COO asked them if they could be mindful of their amazing loyal to royal customers and implored for them a transition that is as painless as possible, especially for their staff. I pray that we get a handle on this soon, we as a family are sheltering in place not because we are scared we practice good habits, but because we were asked to. I wanted to set a good example for my kid. I refuse to be all doom and gloom, this too shall pass, I know tragedy and healing comes in due course.
Since we are blessed here to know we work hard and reward ourselves by vacationing harder, our choice RCCL as soon as they sail again I hope we all jump on sailings, use those FCC"s as soon as possible, you know you are going over to Next Cruise anyway while on board. Please I implore the fans (and I know it's hard I feel for our friend @Lovetocruise2002 whose support is unwavering and then the whole FCC mishandling)  but can we choose to be positive just this one thread? Thank you @Branderson610, I smiled when I read your post. My next sailing isn't until June 2020 but I am not cancelling, I am going to "let the frustration go" and roll with it. I did go ahead and book an additional amazing sailing Thanksgiving 2020 on the Odyssey too!
