VolFanInGa got a reaction from J.reynolds in Should I buy two drink packages for both my kids or will one be good for the both of them??? Please help
Water, lemonade, milk, tea and juices (from concentrate) not fresh squeezed are included.  Because of that, we are not buying the soda pkg or our kids.  We're sailing with a 6 & 9 yo this Spring, and we plan to carry on a case of Capri-sun or juice boxes.  Those are more so to have a packaged beverage option for them at the pool and in the room.  They are both pretty good water drinkers, but we want to make sure they both drink plenty.

As promised,  here are the photos that I took today of construction progress. I don't have a fancy camera and I didn't edit at all (sorry, guys) but you'll get the gist.

James Van Fleet, Royal’s Chief Meteorologist tweeted about Majesty making a similar swap.  High seas and surge in Costa Maya made it unsafe to dock one day this week so they headed to Cozumel.  Perhaps Indy did the same.

Not here on Indy.  I've not yet run into any closed activities signed off for Key only but I haven't gone looking for it either.
To be honest if i didn't see Key people during boarding on day one I wouldn't know the program existed.  Just lucky I guess.

On the natural side you can try Ginger pills and/or Ginger Ale.
A head waiter fixed this for my daughter once, it was hot tea with lemon, honey, ginger, had her eat a green apple and saltines (She was already sea sick), but after she did these few things she never got sick again the rest of the cruise.

Another option for your kids may be Sea-bands.  We have them for our kids' upcoming first cruise in April.  They are a relatively cheap alternative to medicines.  My brother and niece swear by them.  I think we purchased two pair for under $10.

If just being prepared then Childrens Dramamine and sea bands.  Only give if needed.  There isn’t much else on the market that is labeled for safe for kids.

$10 for everything but hibachi is my experience.

We did ultimate dining on Oasis.  They allowed us to do hibachi on the first day with our package which i’ve Only been able to do on Oasis (2x).  My kids are 6 and 9.  We did not pre pay for anything.  We were charged $20 at hibachi for my son as he ate everything.  They didn’t charge me anything for my daughter as she didn’t really eat much.  At Izumi sushi we just used our $70 to feed everyone.  At 150 they charged each kid $10.  At Chops and Giovanni’s they didn’t charge us for either kid any time even though they ate.  So we had 10 specialty meals and it cost us a total of $40 for the week for my two kids.
i don’t think any price would be below $10 if they do charge you.  I wouldn’t buy anything ahead of time.  You may get lucky and not pay anything but I wouldn’t expect it.  Also if you want to get some main dining food they will probably do it.  My son was eating beef carpaccio and salmon for free and my daughter had Mac and cheese for free.  If you are going to eat at the same place a good tip the first time increases the odds you won’t pay for the kids the second time you go.

I hope that answers you question.  If not let me know and i’ll try again.  I do think Oasis is the most lenient of the Oasis class on charging though.  It’s not consistent (surprising I know).

While I cannot predict the weather, April is a dryer season in the Caribbean.  There have been good recommendations about medication to take to combat motion sickness. Many medicines come with side effects.  We are taking sea bands for our girls this spring.  My brother and sister in law have had great luck with them, and we've already purchased some.  We'll probably take some Bonine as well.

I'm always scared to do this, because I don't trust that if I cancel and re-buy to get a better price, the OBC will be properly returned to me instantly for use in the re-purchase. Royal's IT has fouled up enough times that I can totally see it happening at least some of the time.
See, my feeling is that spending that extra $100 up front (or at least 90 days ahead of sailing) for $100 in OBC is just giving Royal a free loan with my money. If I get the case like @VolFanInGa mentioned, where the gap is more than a 1:1 in favor of the OBC, then I don't feel so bad because the "loan" is being repaid with some "interest" (extra OBC). But I'd still rather just have a smaller overall bill at the end. ?

Price is the deciding factor for me as well.  One scenario that would lead me to favor the OBC route is if it is more than a 1 for 1.
ie Cruise fare is $90 more but current promo also includes an incremental $100+ in OBC.
I actually had the opposite happen to me not long after I booked my upcoming cruise.  Originally booked our fare +$125 OBC.  Less than a month later, a new promo resulted in a fare reduction of over $170.  With that change, the OBC went down to $50. I still netted a $90 savings, so I was happy.

Hmmm.  Need option 4.  Lowest effective final price of cruise regardless how its derived.
To me I don't care if how it's presented, what is the final price?
    Fare $3,000, OBC $100 = final cost of $2,900
    Fare $2,900, OBC $0 = final cost of $2,900
Fare $3,500, OBC $500 = final cost of $3,000 <- bad deal and this is often what I get at NextCruise (a bad deal with lots of OBC).

    Hey Kyle! (Great name btw)
I have purchased the Key for my upcoming cruise in April.  Its a 5 night and first cruise in over 10 years (first solo so not Diamond or anything that gets perks).  We ended up deciding it was worth it at $20/day ($100) just from the math.  Voom surf and stream for 1 device is $18/day right now I believe which is $90 already. I was not completely sold on Voom because I kind of want to be disconnected from everything for the week, but seeing how half our group is on another deck it would make it easier to reach people, plus always good to have service just in case you want or need it.  The Chops Grille Lunch is included on embarkation day which goes for $22. I've always wanted to try it, plus no fighting the crowds at WJ.  Just with those two it is $112, so already worth getting it.  For me all the extra perks of priority on/off ship, reserved show seats, etc is all just a big bonus at a very reasonable price to enhance my cruise.  My 3 friends I'm going with, it is their 1st cruise so I want things to be a great as it can be.
If you are not going to use the flowrider/shows or didn't want Voom, obviously the value isn't there.  Or some have stated that price outweighs value over longer cruises like 9 day+ which makes sense too. But for me, as a non suite, non-perk C&A level, $100 for all the extras to enhance the experience was a no brainer.
Hope you have a great time!

Deck 7 corner aft on Voyager and Freedom class are also outstanding cabins.  The room is standard size but the balcony is about as large as the room.  Great view out the side.
