I agree with @twangster, that's beyond over the top. I would have refused to move and told them to go pound sand.

Lol, now this is funny! My wife is a pit bull in court and if you make it out alive, she will make sure that you are able to dock your new ship “oasis of the seas” behind your new mansion on the water! 

Hell, just do it. Remember, when you should find yourselves in harms way and suffer an unimaginable horror but managed to get out, you can then hire a "Miami based Maritime Lawyer" and blame the entire misadventure on Royal Caribbean. Because that's what people do.

I remember the thread you referenced/posted. The poster joined this site, complained, and then has vanished ever since.
As much I get obsessed with my upcoming cruises, I can't see how I could possibly forget that I have an upcoming vacation to pay for and have it cancelled on me.
I'm not as organized as @tiny260 , but, I am always aware of my outstanding balance and final due date.

My cousin was on the Carnival ship at the time.  All he got for his inconvenience was a certificate for  two free drinks.

I usually find the temp in the MDR and theater to be much too hot - which means my wife if very comfortable.
I usually find the temp in other indoor public areas quite comfortable - which means she is chilled.

Real first name is Mike. Fuzzywuzzy is my username just about everywhere. It was a CB Radio handle I used in the dinosaur era and it made its way to the internet.
I am " retired "and so is the wife. I spent almost 40 years as a LEO and did/do related private sector stuff too. The wife was a public school teacher for 33 years.  USAF (SP) veteran.

We did our earlier cruising with the mouse because it was always with a large family group or just with our own kids. We now do it just the 2 of us. Probably gonna be with Royal alot since retirement checks don't go as far as paychecks and Bayonne is an hour and a half drive.

My wife says I am sarcastic and have a bizarre sense of humor but she's been an accomplished liar as long as I've known her.

Every morning when I wake up a different body part hurts. Today it was my left elbow. You think it's a tumor?

Simply said, if you are gonna drop thousands on a vacation that you just can't enjoy without getting high, knowing it to be unlawful, then you have other problems.
