Awesome! Be sure to check out the various bars on board -- each one has at least one signature drink that you'll only find in that bar.

I am going on Freedom in a few months with the refreshment package. I am going in assuming I can get a free shake at the Johnny Rockets bar without a cover charge.
Anyone know if this is still the current policy?? I'm curious if things have changed as most of these responses are from 2018. Thanks!

Oh, by the way, protein shakes are also included in the Refreshment as well as the Deluxe Drinks package at Vitality Cafe on Harmony.

Second week on Harmony right now and happy to report that milkshakes are free at Johnny Rockets both with the Deluxe Drinks as well as the refreshment package. They swipe the card and a 100% discount is applied to the price.

Also La Patisserie, which is right across the walkway from Cafe Promenade and along with Cafe Two70 are the only places I found to get specialty coffee.

There will be indications in the daily Cruise Compass which venues are a fee, noted by a "$" by their name and hours of operation.
In addition, if any venue is primarily complementary (like the main dining room or Cafe Two70) but has some items that carry a surcharge, that will be clearly marked on the menu.

Very well said, and I agree.  We're going in July for our 2nd time there.  We enjoyed our first trip.  Plus, you're on VACATION...on a tropical island.  It IS beautiful and there are many things to do.  I'm excited to go there again and take my 16yo DS for the first time.

I meant figuratively..  Meaning there is no reason I a single parent can't travel with his kid. We had a big family vacation planned and now our family dynamic has changed.

I already have the letter ready to go.
I just meant there's no reason why my kid and I can't cruise together.  Just like my wife and her can go if they wan't. I'm well aware of the legalities but it was a figurative expression, not literal.

Thanks all! Just trying to salvage what would have been a beach day since we aren't going to Cococay anymore.  Might just stay on the ship and enjoy the pool!

Here you go. Dr Von D Mizell (formally John Lloyd) state park. Amazing beach and since you have to pay a small fee it keeps many of the spring breakers out as they would prefer to be by the bars on Las Olas and A1A.

Your drink package will extend to Labadee and they serve lunch there as well..if that helps you make a decision.

    Hi everyone...
Wondering what to do on Labadee.  Bungalow is out because of the price (I'd rather get a drink pkg) but we are comparing the beach lounger for 2 (we would need two because we have 3 people...$90) and the beach bed.  I have a few questions:  1.  do the beach loungers (that look like clam shells) include chairs or are you just laying inside them?  And can more than 2 people access the area if you only pay for 2 (ie...if the teen is gone most of the day, can we tag team the chairs).  If they come with chairs, can I pull them out into the sun?   Also, which beach are these on, because I cant figure that out.  2.  the beach bed is $175 and on adrenaline beach.  How is that beach?  Can you get to bar service and other areas easily ?  In terms of the bed, can you fit more than 2 people if we are sitting up etc..(ie like above can we tag team it and access the area for 3 people if we get one bed)?  3.  Finally, are there just lounge chairs available everywhere?  Do you pay for them and are they gettable?  And what beaches are they at?
I've tried looking at the maps, but I'm confused lol.  I've tried searching, but alot of the info I think i can find here is embedded in other discussions about bungalows, etc.  If one of you experts can help me, that would totally rock and save me a bunch of time ? Jane

We are taking a private charter that includes snorkeling while in Nassau on our next cruise with Island Time Charters. They have wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor and seem to get you away from the masses a little bit.  In the past, we’ve done a beach day at the British Colonial Hilton. It was perfect when my girls were younger and just wanted to play in the water. They give you a food and beverage credit for lunch and it was pretty economical. I personally really enjoy Nassau and have been to Atlantis on a land based vacation. The crowds and prices there are not ideal, but it is very beautiful.

OK, people have addressed safety issues here, and that is great. I'm from New Jersey, and know how areas of NYC can turn bad in a hurry. But does anyone have any comments on these ports, as far as other people saying they are 'dumps' or 's***holes'? I was surprised to read these comments, because the pictures I've seen look very nice.

    1.  Eat salad first if you're in the buffet; only eat dessert every other (or every 3rd) day
    2.  Take the stairs at least five times a day
    3.  Go for a "dawn walk" every morning -- at least two laps of the ship's promenade -- if you're early enough to catch the sunrise, you'll find it pretty open,
    4.  Drink water with every meal, and DON'T get the Deluxe Beverage Package!!!

We thought an Uber XL would be a stretch for our family of 6.  You don't know if you will be able to get something to hold all 6 of us and the luggage.  We used Go Airport Shuttle after a recommendation from this board and it worked out great.  There are several of us who used this service with good results.  It is more expensive than an Uber XL which runs about $75 but less than 2 ubers which is what I'm afraid I would need.  I think it would be less expensive and more time effective than renting a car.

Perhaps for (6) people with Luggage, Uber might be a stretch. There are endless amounts of Shuttle service companies that you could use as an option. Keep in mind, South Florida (Specifically Fort Lauderdale, Miami) are thriving  based in large part from the cruise industry. Both cities cater to cruise passengers. You will have zero issues staying on Fort Lauderdale and getting to port of Miami in the am. I’m certain someone can help with a shuttle company recommendation because it sounds like you will need a van with plenty of space for luggage.
