On our recent Allure of the Seas Cruise, we had the refreshment package and ordered, and enjoyed, virgin strawberry daiquiris, pina coladas and lava flows. Yum!

I have the final statement in front of me.  $700 was refunded.  It paid for 2 Deluxe Beverage packages, all gratuities, $20 on t-shirts, my wife decided she wanted a drink in a pineapple so there was a $10.62 surcharge for that, and she also bought $61 worth of perfume.  Our final bill was $94.17.

We were recently there on the Allure and took the “Old and New San Juan” excursion. Included a variety of sites in a short period of time and the guide was very informative. Our party of 4 enjoyed it!

Personal responsibility no longer exists it seems. Everything that goes wrong is someone else's fault. We are devolving.

They're offering a full refund which they do not have to do at all.  I think that's a pretty good deal if you really only chose the sailing for the port that is being missed.  Otherwise, you're getting the same amenities on the ship.  Oasis class ships are destinations in themselves.
The only effects from the propulsion issue is that the ship can't go as fast and thus can't go as far in the same amount of time.  Port changes happen all the time for a variety of reasons and often the cruise line can't even scramble up alternatives in time.  In your case they are giving you the heads up and allowing you to cancel the sailing without penalty.  I know it's a disappointment to have your original itinerary changed a bit, but I think you can still have a great time on the cruise.

I can assure you it's not a "bad ship", and propulsion aside it'll still be a great time. The last time the Allure had an issue with propulsion, we spent two weeks on board and besides seeing the wake missing a bit on the left side we didn't notice anything. Additionally, the cruise line can change the ports for any reason and happens often. It's unfortunate when it happens, but you can also choose to make the best of it. San Juan is a great port and even if it isn't what you originally intended, you can still have a fantastic time.

We were on Allure earlier this month and we didn’t feel anything related to the propulsion issue. The only way you might suspect there was any issue at all was when looking at the wake from the back of the ship! We went to San Juan (it was a scheduled stop) and loved it! Went on an excursion so we got a glimpse into different areas and places. Made us want to return just to San Juan someday!

Cindy Leslie got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Beach loungers on Labadee
We were in Labadee this past Friday and had reserved two of the beach loungers for the four of us. We got off the ship early and went directly to the check-in hut. We gave them our “ticket” and were given wristbands. We asked for the front row and the gentleman said he would give us a good spot. He took us to the front row and presented us with side by side loungers. We gave him an extra $5 per lounger to thank him and he was most appreciative! Later, when lunch was ready, he came over to advise us and to ensure that he would keep an eye on our spot while we were gone. We loved Labadee! It was really beautiful. Note: don’t forget to take water shoes...bottom of ocean was very rocky.

We just got back from Allure of the Seas and went to Sorrento’s numerous times...the pizza was always delicious! As was the antipasti! Only negative...walking by Sorrento’s, smelling the delicious aroma of fresh pizza, and being too full from dinner to partake! ?

Please for the sake of your fellow passengers do not take on anything bigger than an airline carry-on with you, let the porters do their job.  The Windjammer is packed on boarding day and your luggage will take up precious space and be in the way of others.  Not to mention taking up space in the elevators as everyone is trying to get to lunch or the pool.
Last people we heard several people pointing out families that chose to carry-on everything as "those people".

I was nervous about going on Allure (my first Oasis class ship) and it feeling crowded.  The opposite was the case... We had entire parts of the ship we never even got to and even the pool and sky deck weren't insane.  I loved Central Park, vintages and the dazzles 80s party.  Park Cafe was the best on embarkation day!  Jane

My first cruise was with my mom on a ship from Dolphin Cruiselines. Can’t recall the name. It was in 1982. I was 25 (mom was 52) and we went with a group of senior citizens from the mobile home park my mom moved to after my dad died. Went to the Bahamas during hurricane season. Oh my goodness...what an experience! After a show in one of the ports, we had to walk in ankle high water to get to the shuttle to get back to the ship! Ahhh...memories! First Royal Caribbean ship was the Viking Serenade in 1998! Much, much better!

Enjoyed reading everyone’s comments. We cruise a week from Sunday (July 7th) on the Allure! Have been planning this vacation (flying into Ft. Lauderdale Friday night before the cruise) for so long, and buying new things along the way. Lost track of all my new “must-buys” and now I have more outfits than actual vacation days. ? So, now it’s time to decide what I can’t live without and what I can live with leaving at home. Wish me luck!

First  "cruise" was on one of the smallest Navy ships...a destroyer escort. That sucker rocked so hard, there were times the mast almost touched the ocean.
First pleasure cruise was a 2 night cruise to nowhere on a Carnival ship. Second cruise was a Canada cruise also on Carnival. That was SO bad and corporate was SO uncaring and unhelpful that we vowed to never put another penny into their coffers. So we switched to Royal in 2010. We have never been disappointed with RCL and never looked back.
But still haven't done Hawaii or the Med. At least having the bucket list gives us something to look forward to.
