    1. Arrive to the port early. You are paying for your day 1 and the sooner you get on the ship, the sooner you can start your vacation.
    2. Bring a USB port outlet for more charging space. Do not confuse this with a surge protector, since it most likely will be confiscated.
    3. Be friendly to the crew and chat with them. Room stewards, for instance, enjoy when we have conversations with them because their jobs are very repetitive and have to clean up after us. It can really make someone's day.

The new Odyssey of the Seas will most likely be the ship sailing out of Rome to the Greek Isles ...I'm looking for the same cruise as you I think! I'm guessing the dates are going to be phase 2 and released the second week of December.

Check out https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compasses/oasis-of-the-seas/thu-2019-08-15-0000 and you'll see they refer to the days by the day of the week and they also talk about the shuttles and separate Muster Drill.
Kind of interesting to think about exactly how much the logistics comes into play for booking like this!

I’ve saved the best for last. Every night after turndown, we returned to the cabin to find not a towel animal, but a chocolate on our pillows. Huge throwback to classic cruising.  Deserves it's own post.

I know this is making it in there as @Matt is an early arriver..but it is absolutely my #1 tip for everyone.  We are fortunate that Royal doesn't make us adhere to the assigned boarding times like some of the other cruise lines do.  Take advantage of that always!

You're lucky i'm not in charge, i would ban smoking indoors (to include the casino) and make the only place for smoking, in the aft (designated section) upper decks.  If you get caught smoking in a non-authorized location, you would be dropped off at the next port.  I'm surprised that Royal Caribbean hasn't been sued yet, by an employee that has been diagnosed with cancer from second hand smoke due to improper ventilation in the casinos.

I just want to provide my experience a couple of weeks ago on Harmony of the Seas. We had the 3 night dining package and there was someone in the terminal by the waiting area making reservations. We lined up and made all of the reservations before we boarded. We didn't find out until day 3 that he confused our reservations and never booked Jamie's for us and instead changed the time of Wonderland. We had to go to guest relations and had very few options to make a reservation at Jamie's on the day we wanted.
Moral of the Story: Double check to confirm that your reservations were indeed made by either calling guest relations, checking the app, or calling the restaurants themselves.

Also, get a name of who took your reservations. Same happened to us a few years ago. We decided after boarding to do a 3 night package. When going Chops for our first dinner, they didn't have our reservation. But did find our other 2. We told told them who took our reservations and when/where, they got us a table right away.🙂
