  1. No amount of frozen sweet drinks would get me to do that to my body; but, tequila, there is no telling what I would do. ?
  2. I am so glad that worked. Now enjoy the rest of the cruise. I have become very in-tuned to rapid barometric changes. A large incoming storm can really give me bad headaches.
  3. I am really sorry you have a killer headache @ellcee I know how those can be and can ruin a day. It may be barometric changes that are giving you the headaches. If you have any storms around that can mess with your sinus cavity giving headaches. If that is the case you may want to try Excedrin as it opens the capillaries in the brain. Never know but if the Migraine meds aren't working you may want to give something else a try. I am very susceptible to barometric changes and get headaches if it changes too rapidly. Just a thought. I hope you feel better.
  4. I did that as well before I knew MEI existed, and this forum, and I was able to transfer waaaaaay past the 60 day mark. I would imagine that if you are a high volume Travel Agency there are some special things that can/are done. And I think MEI falls into that category.
  5. That price will change according to the demand for suite occupancy on the ship. As there is less demand the prices will come down accordingly. My guess for a normal 7 day cruise it would be in the ball park of $800-1300 +/-. On my cruise out of Puerto Rico next year on the Freedom of the Seas I have a Grand Suite but I always look at what rooms are left and they had an Owners Suite for about $800 more..not bad. I just looked again and it's $1100 difference so it changes all the time. You can go on the RC website and price it out pretty quickly by going to your actual cruise and looking for rooms and seeing the price differences. I do it all the time and you can also see sales and get your cruise reduced in price even if you have paid already.
  6. I am curious as I am very new to cruising. When Hurricanes are threatening an area that you are going to are the Cruise Lines vigilant about updating passengers prior to cruising? Or do you have to travel to the port location and then find out you are stuck?
  7. Me thinks he has other reasons not to go on a cruise and he is just using this as his line-in-the sand because the real truth will sound stupid.
  8. Opps I was wrong the on the number of ships...actually 5 31 October, 2018 Wednesday Majesty Of The Seas 07:00 18:00 31 October, 2018 Wednesday ms Veendam 08:00 17:00 31 October, 2018 Wednesday Disney Wonder 09:00 16:00 31 October, 2018 Wednesday Carnival Valor 09:00 18:00 31 October, 2018 Wednesday Carnival Victory 12:00 22:00
  9. That is a very excellent and detailed write-up that gives a lot of information to contemplate when arriving at Cozumel. I will be in Cozumel on 31 October 18 on another Cruise line, which dare not speak its name, but starts with a C and it's a party baby. I booked before I really knew about RC ? My only issue is we are the last ship in at 1200; I think there are two or three other ships there at the same time that come in earlier. So I just chose to go snorkeling instead.
  10. As long as they still make a hefty profit they don't have to put in deep sales and as far as I can tell they don't have issues selling cabins. They do the sales to let people think they are getting a bargain; no different than what malls and car dealerships do on a routine basis. As a consumer we are always looking for the deal, and as long as we feel we got a deal, we feel good and companies go on making us feel good with sales advertising. It's win-win for the consumer to big business dynamic. How many people go on a RC cruise even know about this site to get information? I did only because I am a researcher and have to always look for "the deal." There is a wealth of knowledge in these pages but only a select set of people will ever run across this blog to get a detailed understanding of the "inner RC."
  11. That sentiment is perfectly me on two levels. First, paying twice would be hard to do, and more importantly, I am not a big foodie so food is just a necessity not a vice. After many years within the Army system of chow, I have come to not be too picky in what fills the stomach, it just has to do the job ?.
  12. SPS thanks for that reply as I am also on that exact cruise on FOS in Sep 2019 and it's nice to know there are no tender ports.
  13. Wow and I didn't think cats could use a bottle opener - that's impressive. Bet he had kitty-hangover the next day.
  14. With all that is going in the world normal people don't make jokes like that anymore. Only someone with strange fantasies makes statements like his. He may say he is joking but he has the capability to do something bad if given the opportunity. He may not have the "balls" to do anything, but someone like that has a trigger that will light a fuse that will only end badly. Good on you for reporting it.
  15. Oh do tell for us newbies that have no idea, but prying ears and eyes are now intrigued to know. I have read a lot on this forum and lots of people seem to have EXPERIENCES in Jamaica that are not pleasant. Makes me want to think twice about going. Every time I see a Falmouth port call in my head I think, yea, I think I will pass on that cruise and I am not sure of that is a good idea. Same thing about Nassau. A lot of people seem to pass on that port too.
  16. As a newbie here I do read these live blogs, all ten pages, and learn something new. I still haven't been on a RC cruise but have two planned for the next two years, 2019 and 20. Thanks for taking the time to write this all up on your vacation; that must take some time.
  17. Matt got a little publicity in the Fox article: http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2018/08/15/emotional-support-animals-face-restrictions-in-southwest-airlines-royal-caribbean-cruises-reports-say.html "For travel by sea, cruise ships are tightening restrictions on ESAs, with Royal Caribbean prohibiting all emotional support animals aboard its international ships effective immediately, according to Miami's WFOR-TV and the Royal Caribbean blog, an unaffiliated industry site."
  18. I saw that today in an email and I was thinking, hmm, got to remember that one for a 2021 cruise, Yes, I am out that far already. When I mention that to friends they always have the same response, how can you plan out that far and I say, if you want the deals, you got to plan. Either you wait until the last moment or plan them out.
  19. Since that part was pretty close to the beginning of the movie I was wondering what I was in for. At the time I was by myself, wife was at work, and I looked at the dogs and said, did you hear that, they just looked at me and said, hey, where are our treats...ugh - dogs! What are you going to do with them.
  20. I saw it last night...cute and very predictable. The only thing I laughed at was the cell phone stuff. Throw it in the water and magically it still works; I don't think so. I haven't seen Kelsey Grammer in a long time so nice to see he still gets work. I just don't understand the necessity for throwing in profanity when clearly it is not warranted or needed. Do people really talk like that all the time?
  21. Well now I have my Friday night movie to watch
  22. ^^^^^^^^^That's exactly what I did. Why feel the hassle when someone else can do it for you.
