KJ1231 got a reaction from TheBurnsTravelers in Carry on luggage.....questions
I've never had luck with garment bags keeping clothes wrinkle free. I now get the plastic from the dry cleaners and roll up my clothes (slacks, sport coat, shirts, etc.) and put them in a suitcase. They come out better than the clothes my wife insists on putting in a garment bag. And pack a small bottle of the Downy spray to get out any wrinkles. Works great!

In a suitcase under the bed works for me. It would take some time and "rumbling" to get to it AND they would have to know it was there to begin with.

Even though that is sad to see written I think you're correct that pre-Covid cruising is gone forever. 😡  I have not been on a cruise since 2019...I was scheduled for one in March 2020 on Oasis when everything got shutdown.
I've been watching these protocols come and go and the one thing I have seen is they don't get relaxed much and they just shift the narratives. The cruise lines are trying to navigate these rules to make money, totally understandable, but we will not be close to even full cruises much less pre-Covid protocols again, if ever.
It's just sad I may never step foot on a cruise ship again. Yes I've had the shots, two of them, but I will not get a booster - I'm done.  Paying to go on a vacation to wear a mask is just not something I'm willing to do. Too many other places to vacation and spend my money. I'm still working for a couple more years so one vacation a year is all I get and it's got to be relaxing. Cruising to me now is just too stressful to just get on the ship.
I'd love to cruise again as I really miss it but...not looking good for VACruiser.

My husband booked our first back to back cruise. 8 day Bahamas, followed by 11 days Transatlantic. We had done 3 cruises in the last 3 months. I can't stand the face mask. If Royal requires the booster, we will cancel everything! I rather to lose the deposit money. Enough is enough with this protocols after almost 2 years. I sadly will say goodbye to cruising.

The 2 blaring things I see screaming out in there are

For cruise ship operators opting into CDC’s COVID-19 Program for Cruise Ships, CDC will continue to exercise enforcement discretion regarding the requirements of its January 29, 2021, Mask Order, applicable to operators of, and crew and passengers on board, cruise ships.
    and

Vaccination Standard of Excellence: ships with at least 95% passengers and 95% crew who are up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines.
“UP TO DATE” meaning you have to be BOOSTED as many times and the CDC decides they want you to be boosted to be “up to date”

If Royal goes along with this, I’ll probably be done cruising until everything goes back to the Pre-Covid experience!  I’ve had 3 Pfizer shots and had covid …… I’m done with the vaccine FOREVER and will never take another shot!  I’m also done booking trips that require masks in vaccinated areas  …… if that comes back again, I’m done as well!

Hello Ken, Thank you for your time. My name is Cat and I will be happy to help you today. Thank you for much for taking time to send us your consent to allow for your daughter Megan Illg and your wife to be able to utilize 1-xxxxxxx and 1-xxxxxxx on their upcoming cruise res number. While we are unable to physically change the name on the certificates, I have notated each certificate with your direct consent to allow for advised guest to be able to use them. For security reasons, we are unable to make changes on a booking with anyone other than the Travel Advisor, if listed on the booking, or directly with the guests booked on that cruise. We kindly ask that they reach out to us or their possible advisor for assistance with application of the certificates. Thank you for considering Royal Caribbean International. It is my hope that we can welcome you back onboard with us in the future. Sincerely, THANKS AGAIN @michelle!!!!

We sail with a group called Autism on the Seas.  The group uses the conference room all week as a meet up place, place for quiet, and for respite so parents can get a break while our exceptional children (and adult children) are well cared for by trained volunteer staff.
PS - The RCL staff is amazing with our kiddos at various venues.

My wife and younger daughter just returned from Caribbean (Miami, Nassau, Coco Cay, Miami) on Freedom and had a great time.
My wife and older daughter have booked Vision OTS, 7/28-8/5, in the Western Med. I have begged them to start looking at Covid requirements at each port (Nice, Provence, Corsica, Portofino, Rome, Palermo) as well as Barcelona where they sail from. They think because they are vaxxed and boostered that they are all set. I think I saw where Italy currently requires booster in the last 6 months which they won't have and currently not able to get another booster.
I saw where @twangster has put off Europe sailings and wondering if anyone is actually flying to Europe and attempting to sail this summer?
To be honest - I'm only just getting back to looking at the blog since I won't be able to sail until they open it up to the unvaxxed. Scrambling to help them now....

If there has been any problems they haven't mentioned them.
AND I just got another picture by the pool area and it is empty! So they are either all at he beach or hiding in their cabins....
Almost good enough to make me consider getting the jab....... 🙂
