I am curious now, how much money does everyone think they make at the end of an average 7 day cruise? I know they work very hard for their money.
If you were to take 1 bar person recieving $1 per ROUND of drinks from 20 customers in a day then multiply that by 7 thats $140 in tips per week.
A 9 month contract would $140 x 36 so roughly $5k
My guess would be that the above is vastly underestimated!

It's funny because I live DIRECTLY across the street from Pats steaks (and Genos on the other side) Definitely not the best, but in my drinking days it was a nice stumble from the bar, to Pats to my house all in a 2 block radius, lol.
I was going to try Pats back in March, however after walking from the station to the Rocky Statue then down to The Liberty Bell my missus decided enough walking had been done
Did have a Philly Cheesecake in Con Murphy's but can't imagine it would be of the same standard as Pats or Genos.

Crew use tips for when they go onshore. Whilst onshore they can also wire any extra cash back home through western union or similar money transfer company.

I buy most of my t-shirts from the guys outside the stadiums, half priced knock off? I'm in!
The price they charge nowadays for strips for any sport is shocking TBH ! So i can fully understand why people look at alternatives. I would also but places near me charge by the m2 so i would need to remortgage my house just to get a vest top

Celebrity does it too, so maybe Holland America is a better choice? Very few children on HAL.
Even less on SAGA cruises

Where to BUY one of those shirts?1?!?!?!?
Dont think you can as its not listed on Miami website merchandise page.
You could always get one made yourself, almost every city and town in the world has places to get knock off gear made up or even sites on the Internet.

RyanAir is the Spirit of Europe. They charged for basic boarding documents. However, I once flew with them round-trip with bags and all that priority jazz for like $71.
There's no doubt you can grab a bargain flying Ryanair!
I have saw prices from UK to Europe being advertised for as little as £9 one way. If you are flexible with dates and travel light then you can bag a really cheap return.
My daughter flies with them and Easyjet often and has never had any issue's.

It's mostly about money and quality of life for him at this point as he's on the tail end of his career (although obviously still very good). He could have gone to Saudi Arabia for hundreds of millions of dollars but chose MLS because they (and Apple) gave him a cut of all new MLS TV subscriptions (Apple TV+ just began a 10 year MLS TV contract worldwide).
Not just apple also gets a cut of Adidas profits, Miami's and apparently has the option to buy into Miami on Retirement.
Messi's contract is basically the same as Golden Balls when he left Real Madrid to sign for LA Galaxy.

Ryanair does not charge to go to the bathroom. They once "considered" it but it never got past that.
Thanks for clarifying that
I Never fly Ryanair, i just remember all the news articles in relation to them planning on charging £1 to take a leak!
Obviously they never went ahead with it due to the bad press they got.

Isn't there an airline that charges for using the bathroom? That's an idea, each time you want to use the bathroom you have to see the room attendant and pony up a buck and he will give you a key to your bathroom.
I believe this was Ryanair! Not sure if it stll happens but I'm sure it was £1

I thought it was okay to bring back sand, that it's just shells and coral that you're not allowed to bring back because of possible critters.
There could also be microscopic critters living in the sand.

The axe throwing was subterfuge misdirection for the real point of the survey… the Sorrentos question.
Unless they want to combine the two so they can reduce costs by having less staff and increase revenue from pizza sales!
You pay for a slice of pizza then instead of a server cutting it up and serving it to you, you have to throw an axe at the pizza to cut a piece off yourself!

Can't say for sure but looking at the photo i would head to where the buses are located in the google map photo

Pure politics, US started this for EU tourists so EU responded for American tourists. This news story is years old, just finally going into effect. Thankfully I can travel both ways and not pay for any of it.
Actually the US implemented this in 2008 as part of the recommendations of the 9/11 commission Act and it's not just aimed at EU tourists, the majority of the world must apply for an Esta. The same applies to the EU version which is not as you state aimed at US tourists but most of the world including the UK.

As cruise ships get bigger and bigger with thousands of passengers and sometimes 2 and 3 ships in port at the same time, the sudden influx of 10, 15 thousand or more passengers puts a tremendous strain on port city'. Infrastructure, traffic, embark/debark hotels, restaurants, public transportation and so on. Amsterdam, Venice, Vancouver, Key West and others have had issues. Having lived in vacation resort town, I can sympathize with all the above not to mention high prices year round.
I'm patiently waiting for the Amsterdam City council to inform Eufa that they no longer wish to hold finals of football competitions in the City.
4 cruise ships with 4000 passengers each = 16k tourists for day.
Champions league final = 50-60k tourists for up to 4 days.

these features are not available on RC UK site!
However you can log in to UK site then switch to US site, this gives you access to these features allowing you to watch cruises and receive emails if price changes.

Forget average since sample is biased. Do what you want. Anything extra is appreciated. Cruisers come from many cultures and lifestyles.
Agreed
Fact is anyone can sit behind a keyboard and say the tip X to the room steward and Y for every drink! Who's to say its not BS?
If anyone wants to tip extra then it should be a personal thing between them and the recipient. No one should feel pressurised into tipping more than they can afford just to keep up with others.

Credit card will be accepted in 99% of restaurants, cafes, shops and taxi cabs in these countries.
However in my opinion its also good to have local currency just in case!
If i go into a place and some of the staff look dodgy im not handing my card over! I'm certainly not giving them my card so they can take it to another part of the premises to swipe it! Take the card machine to me, if you can't do that then i will come with you! If they don't want me to go with them then its cash on the table.
Also nice to have local currency to tip extra if you think someone deserves it such as restaurant staff or cab drivers. What you tip is up to yourself no expected % scrawled on back of receipt.
