Michael Bayley as Empress and Majesty Crew Member?
KathyC replied to stevendom57's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I pulled out my passenger list from 1992 and he wasn't on it...I guess only on The Love Boat the purser was important enough to be introduced. ? -
What’s the strangest thing you have seen on a cruise ship?

Airline tickets for our July Cruise

Can you book flights for the Oct cruise before the expiration date? If not, I doesn't hurt to call and ask for an extension. -
Airline tickets for our July Cruise
KathyC replied to OutToSea's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Check your Southwest account - we had our May flights cancelled and our credits now say they expire 9/7/22. They extended them twice, and we've done nothing to request that. -
Chris Wong said in his latest YouTube video that he's heard Mariner and Navigator as well. Quantum is the real first test. I'm sure the CDC is watching what will happen on those sailings.

You have customer A - Cruisellama - who wants everything included and is upset when it's not. Then you have customer B - FionaMG - who doesn't want everything included because they don't use most of the extra services. So how do you make everyone happy?

Key West Voters Approve Ban on Large Cruise Ships
KathyC replied to SpeedNoodles's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
That actually sounds like a great idea. My in-laws are snowbirds and we could fly into Tampa & visit with them, head to KW via this for a day or two, sail back to the in-laws, spend more time with them, and fly home. -
Fun Post - What's Your Cruise Day Like Drinkwise
KathyC replied to WannaCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Hmmm had to think about this, if we have a pattern or not. On a sea day on a Royal ship when NOT sailing with friends: (water bottles throughout the day) My hubby will get a specialty coffee for breakfast - sometimes I will just cause I have the package, not that I want it. He may spike his, I don't. Later in the morning we'll have something refreshing by the pool/hot tub/solarium/on balcony. After lunch, there will be something frozen in the hot tub. Pre-dinner martini Hubby will have a whisky with dinner After dinner, we'll get beers in the pub or mixed drinks for the show. If we're hanging out in Schooner will be a mixed drink. Last of the evening is a Toasted Almond to settle the stomach before bedtime. On a Celebrity ship sea day: (water bottles throughout the day) Specialty coffee in the morning Martini Bar the rest of the day. (Maybe a specialty herbal tea in the afternoon.) -
Welcome to the boards! I have a cruise in December as well - I too wish they would make an announcement already as I have to re-allocate those 10 vacation days to be used before the end of the year. Normally I'd just take them off anyway, but 10 days at home in a row doing nothing (not including the weekends) would drive me bonkers! ? I do not expect any sailings in December to actually happen, to be honest. I think it may take time to get everything through the approvals and such. Maybe some of the 3-4 nighters from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale will happen first. Jut speculation though. You can try contacting Royal Caribbean directly (as this is just a fan board) to see if they can offer you any ideas on when notifications are coming. My cruise is just over 30 days out and not a peep...

I spend time each morning watching live travel streams on YouTube, as I've been working from home so long I'm so sick of daytime tv. Venice has more live stream cameras than any city I've found - I like to people watch and dream about the day I can travel again. Anyway...my point. It's amazing how many Italians are NOT wearing masks. In fact, the majority do not. I watch them go in and out of businesses - no masks. When I put on the Tokyo cameras - everyone is in masks. Explains a lot.

We walked into Izumi on Serenade many times just to order a drink and they never had a problem with it. We did have the drink package, and my husband had done the sushi class early in the sailing; they remembered him and me (I came at the end to watch him eat and ordered a drink while observing) so that could be part of it as well.

I think it's a worthwhile goal. You get a bunch of freebies that can make a difference between getting a drink package or not. Depending on your habits, you have the complimentary drinks for a few hours in the evenings in the lounge, and access to coffee machines all day. You'll get a couple extra water bottles in your stateroom, and can also get those in the diamond lounge in the evening. Diamond Plus will get you more, like tours, crystal blocks, invites, little bit more discounts, but otherwise once you hit Diamond there really isn't any big reason to reach for more. You'll get a good reciprocal status on Celebrity (Elite), which gets you more at that level than Royal gives you with Diamond.

I had one until a couple years ago, from Majesty in 1992. I had to toss them as they got moldy when a box they were in got wet in our basement. Stupid sump pump joint separated and we had a fountain!

Why yes...yes there are. ?

We were on Summit last year, and to be honest we felt she was a pretty quiet ship. You won't find as many kids running up and down the halls, and the only thing I can think of is maybe a wheelchair hitting the corner? But I really don't think it would be too much of an issue. Not a lot of drunken folks to bump into the walls late night either. We had a pretty "young" crowd on our sailing and our hall was always quiet.

Cruise Planner Deals for November/December 2020 cruises
KathyC replied to S.Marie's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I keep going back and forth if I want to invest any more money, LOL. We have a 12 night in December out of Bayonne. I really don't see it happening, but who knows. I may check the Voom prices just to see. Not buying any excursions though. -

Did Covid-19 Kill The Early Check-in?

San Juan is our first stop out of Bayonne. Ugh I hope they don't send us to Port Canaveral instead...but I guess a visit to Grills and possible meet-up would make it worthwhile. -
Did Covid-19 Kill The Early Check-in?
KathyC replied to FManke's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I'm still assuming my December cruise will be cancelled, but if for some reason I am blessed to go, I do expect a lot of changes, especially to my itinerary - since we have a sailaway time of 3pm...yet the first check in is at 2:30. I think the last offered was 5:00. If we sail three hours late, (assuming all goes well and we can leave by 6pm) I don't know if Anthem can get from Bayonne to San Juan on schedule (and we already have a 3pm arrival time). I'm assuming it takes quite awhile or we'd have an earlier arrival time. @twangster you would know much better than I what she is capable of. We have six ports in total - I'll be happy if I just get to get off at one! These standard check in times no matter which ship/itinerary are a good indication to me that these sailings will not happen. -
Did Covid-19 Kill The Early Check-in?
KathyC replied to FManke's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I was thinking Pinnacles and the suites with the extra privileges that comes with their price tags, and The Key. Everyone else would be in the general masses. I don't think Anthem has genies but I can't see everyone standing outside waiting to get in. There are folks who just don't find that option as acceptable. That's not what they are paying for. So I expect to see certain groups being ushered inside, to a separate area. Those are the ones I think may get earlier times set aside for them. Hell, if I'm paying thousands per person to sail, I think I'd want something extra done for me. LOL -

What time did you get with The Key? My Cape Liberty check in for December had 2:30 as the earliest...and all the rest are after sailaway, which is currently scheduled (3pm). ? I see definite alterations to our itinerary. -

Royal Caribbean app weird message
KathyC replied to RCIfan1912's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I couldn't log into the stupid app tonight to check in to our cruise. I had to do it on my laptop. Wouldn't even let me sign in. Kept bringing me back to the login screen. My husband tried on his app, was able to sign in but couldn't find the reservation. So annoying. No problems signing into my Celebrity app though.
