  1. Refunds are taking longer right now, so keep that in mind when canceling and re-booking if you don't have the funds available to wait for the refund. I canceled a cruise planner purchase on 5/13 and am still waiting for the refund.
  2. I cancelled something on May 13th and have not received the refund yet.
  3. Yesterday when I was watching Riley Tench's latest YouTube video from Quantum of the Seas, he said that they were given the option to stay on board. If they are not making the crew leave, that does give me hope that Royal is truly planning on sailing again soon. I believe they are planning on sailing from China in July, and Quantum is currently in those waters, so does that mean they want crew on the ship to get her ready to accept passengers? Here's his video: (if you just want to hear what he said, then skip ahead to around 6:20. Don't let Chris Wong fool you, it's Riley's video. ?
  4. Did you use a TA? If so, they may be able to find out where that money went. Knowing Royal...they probably refunded the amount to whom ever bought the gift certificate. LOL But maybe they just put the money back on the certificate and it's reusable. A TA should be able to check that as well, or you can try to do a mock booking and enter the certificate as a form of payment. Just don't complete the transaction.
  5. I had both my college boys home, for the first time in four years, on my birthday and Mother's Day.
  6. We were on Oasis in December, right after her amp, and they did have the guacamole classes that used to be held in Sabor...but this, well, I got nuthin. LOL
  7. If you add a shot of vodka, it becomes a roasted toasted almond. I make ours with vanilla almond milk, gives it extra flavor.
  8. I enjoy a toasted almond before retiring. It's kahula, amaretto & cream. Nice, soothing, relaxing drink.
  9. So very hard when there is airfare involved. I had to make final payment for a cruise in August that I'm fairly certain will be canceled, but it's in driving distance. ? Masks don't make a difference to me; it's all about protecting myself, no different to ME (not saying it should be different for anyone else) than having to wear a seatbelt in a car. I can put up with it if I need to.
  10. There always seems to be a sale! LOL I hold out for the resident specials. Those work out the best for me.
  11. We're looking at something in 2021, not sure what yet. I have a B2B on Royal in October 2021 that I will most likely be canceling, not loving the price. It needs to come down, but I'm going to let Royal hold my deposits for awhile, they have enough to deal with right now, and I'm not getting my refunds any quicker if I cancel now or a month from now. I'm looking forward to sailing Celebrity soon!
  12. I can't imagine a vaccine will be available any time soon, and as for antibodies most of us won't have them since we're all social distancing and staying away from getting the virus to create those antibodies. I'm not waiting to vacation. LOL
  13. We've only sailed on Summit, so no help on either of those two ships. Celebrity does not have big ships like Royal does, with Edge & Apex being their largest. I don't remember exactly which Royal class they relate to size wise, but they are not big. 2,900 passengers, I believe for the Edge.
  14. Unfortunately I do not, I've only sailed Celebrity once and we were Aquaclass so had Blu every night. Maybe @monorailmedic can help on this one? Cruisehabit.com also has it's own message boards, where you can access more Celebrity cruisers.
  15. Welcome to the boards! As Matt always says, buy the package at the price you are willing to pay. Then, check your cruise planner frequently for sales, and when you see the price lower cancel & re-book.
  16. Royal has so many older ships in the fleet that I am sure are paid off by now; it's possible they can sail at half capacity to recoup most of the operating costs, and the extra goes to the ships they are still paying for. I have to believe that sailing at half capacity, while still may be a loss for some ships, will be a smaller loss than not sailing at all?
  17. I'm often envious of those who can just put down all sorts of deposits and not think about it.
  18. I voted for choice 1, as it's the closest to what your current cruise is. You've been looking so forward to this itinerary, planning, researching...I think you should still go for it...just one year later. I like the idea of stopping in Scotland. I loved the Summit so of course I need to vote for her. ?
  19. We scored $39 each way from PHL to MCO in May for a land vacation, only for Southwest to go and cancel those flights. They re-booked us on horrible timed ones, and if we want to change to a different one...of course there is a higher cost. So if we actually get to go, we'll be getting up at 4 am to make our 6:30am flight. Sigh.
  20. Mine was for a refundable deposit for a cruise in 2021. There was a weekend of some really good prices, so I put down a bunch of deposits on sailings I was interested in, then narrowed it down afterwards what we were going to actually go on. So it may go through a different department for processing, as there is no FCC involved. I'm thinking that made it "quicker"...if you can call it quick. LOL
  21. My refund from 3/11 posted to my credit card today!! So helpful, as my payment was scheduled for 4/8. I was able to change it in time - makes a HUGE difference on a very large credit card bill. Happy dancing!!
  22. We only ate at Blu, as we were in Aquaclass. The next time we sail Celebrity, we're going to get a regular cabin so we can experience the MDR and the specialty restaurants. Honestly, I think the value is the same as you'd get on any cruise specialty restaurant. Is the price worth it for Jamie's or Giovanni's to you? Then I'd say yes. If you think those are not worth the money, then I'd say no.
