  1. Now that there are cases on St Maarten, (French side) I wonder if RC will replace that port with another (St Kitts, a second stop at CocoCay, PR or Labadee)
  2. I seriously doubt there will be anymore quarantines on ships. They’ve learned that was not such a good idea. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/how-diamond-princess-cruise-ship-coronavirus-quarantine-went-wrong-2020-2%3famp
  3. Sipping chocolate martini in Central Park listening to music before heading to bed. Walking on the track (on Oasis class) as we come into port. Stopping at the stern to watch the wake. Sipping mimosas on our balcony having “first breakfast!”
  4. We use Sharla at MEI. I had always booked myself in the past but this past year I moved our Symphony cruise to Sharla, booked a Mariner and just got a group of 8 to book Odyssey to Italy/Greece 2021! Sharla has a great group rate. ?
  5. It’s quite common for fares to drop after final payment (90 days). They are trying to sell remaining cabins.
  6. That’s our JS for May! Please let me know how you liked it. ?
  7. We sailed Mariner the 3rd week of October this past year. Plenty warm at CocoCay and water temps were comfortable.
  8. My husband did it on Oasis and really enjoyed it. Lucky for him it was free as we knew the Director of Hotels and he got him on the tour. Nice knowing an officer! He took us to Coastal Kitchen for dinner too.
  9. Lots of Facebook pages for individual cruises. We have a meet up at Playmakers for the May 2 Symphony group. Just search your ship and date of cruise.
  10. My husband and girls were on it. My husband is very mechanical minded. He just felt it was a bit rickety. I’m always suspicious of stuff like that outside the US. Who is inspecting this stuff? Someone recently got hurt on a zip line malfunction in Costa Rica.
  11. 1. People do it but doesn’t mean it’s right 2. Get your specialty reservations first, then go to MDR and get that sorted. Should be fine. 3. for skating we just showed up during the times listed on the compass. (that was on Oasis). Haven’t done laser tag. 4. Zip line was sold out before we got there. Book now in your cruise planner. Family did ride the coaster but felt it wasn’t exactly safe feeling.
  12. We did Mariner this past October to get us through from our Freedom last March until our Symphony this May. We’re 2 hours from Port Canaveral so we drove on down Friday morning and hopped on for 3 nights. It was perfect!
  13. I’m 72 and 589! Definitely going to have to jump on Mariner sometime in between! Good think I’m 2 hours from Port Canaveral. Easier to get my fix! I sound like a junkie! ? The 589 days is Italy/Greece on Odyssey so I literally have tons of research I could do. Already wondering how will I fit so many clothes into 2 suitcases for 9 night cruise plus 3 day tour of Rome. Guess I’ll use RC laundry for the first time. 72 days is Symphony which will be the 4th year in a row for eastern Caribbean so I already know that drill. Eat, drink, sit by pool/beach. Repeat. ? Seriously considering getting a deposit down on an Alaskan cruise for maybe summer 2021 or 2022.
  14. Just heard on the news 39 new cases on Diamond Princess. Good grief the quarantine will never be lifted. They may end up with a mutiny onboard.
  15. I just checked my cruise planner and it’s only $88 right now
  16. Wow that’s nuts! I originally booked it for our Symphony in May for $69.99. Then it went down to $54.99! I cancelled and rebooked in a hurry!
  17. Well we booked the beach club ($54.99) for our Symphony cruise in May to insure we wouldn’t be searching endlessly for chairs on the beach. We’re traveling with another couple so hunting down 4 first row chairs is something we don’t want to do. At the time, I didn’t know if we’d be the only ship there or one of several. when we were on Labadee on Oasis, I hated it. Least favorite port. It was a glorified hotel beach. Crowded. We were at CocoCay in October on Mariner and it was great. Deserted! Plenty of space. So I booked the beach club in anticipation of CocoCay being crowded. I’m sitting back waiting for the reviews to start coming in to see if it’s really worth it. I have since found out that Symphony is the only ship at CocoCay the day we’re there. So likely not too bad crowd wise. We’re not rich and don’t need pampering but sitting on top of people is not fun. This was a way to insure some space. For the record, I’d never pay $93.99 for this pass. That’s ridiculous. We got the water park last October for $45.99 and that wasn’t worth it either. I can’t imagine people paying 3 times that amount for water slides.
  18. This could be bad news for the cruise industry. I hope this virus runs it’s course soon. https://ktla.com/2020/01/30/6000-people-held-on-cruise-ship-in-italy-after-passenger-shows-coronavirus-symptoms/
  19. We were invited to CK by a friend who was Director of Hotels on Oasis. Even an Officer waits to be seated. ?
  20. They weren’t doing that back in October on Mariner.
  21. Just to add.....in one of the Facebook groups last week someone posted the breakdown of C&A on board: Serenade top tier January 20, 2020 sailing. CAS onboard. 1767 Gold. 483 Platinum. 297 Emerald. 145 Diamond. 458 D+. 322 Pinnacle. 62 Top 3 3) 2417 points 2) 2481 points 1) 2668 points It was so crowded at Diamond and above (almost 850) that Diamond was sent to Safari for their happy hour. I think it’s become too easy to reach Diamond. You can be Diamond in as little as 6, seven night cruises in a junior suite. Honestly I’d rather they just load my card with my 3 drinks to be used anywhere, anytime and maybe just offer a concierge service. Of course I should talk ? I got the benefit of being grandfathered when C&A was reworked. We reached Diamond a little sooner than normal.
