  1. Past hour
  2. So jealous! I can't believe they did not put a Mason Jar on Icon. Enjoy lunch!
  3. I'd suspect so. With that said, there's a range of tails from the MDR. I was dining at Chef's Table on Oasis during the second formal night in 2021 (lobster night) and our chef plated MDR lobster tails he had personally selected with our filet mignon course. It was a noticeable step up from what I've seen on my MDR plate before and since then. My gut feeling is this move is less about the cost between whole live lobster and lobster tails, as it is about Royal reducing the inventory they're purchasing and managing across the fleet. Doesn't make it any less disappointing though.
  4. As long as you are in the car by 8am you should be fine. Lyft and Uber work, you can pre-book either for an assurance.
  5. So, I will continue with this thread for the fifth and final leg of this saga. We boarded Wonder today (5-5). This is our Pinnacle cruise. Drove up from Port St Lucie. It’s about an hour and fifteen minutes’ drive. Got to the terminal right at 9:00, which is precisely our target for terminal arrival. Getting into the parking garage was the same madhouse that it always is. After about 10 minutes of inching along we finally got to the luggage drop area and then circled around to the parking lane. There, our luck got better as we immediately found a handicapped parking space right by the elevators on level 2. We were the first in line for the Suites/Pinn line and entrance into the terminal area began at 9:45 sharp. We waited a bit in the Suites/Pinnacle lounge area and boarding began at 10:15. We did our muster drill as soon as we boarded and then went straight to deck 8 to retrieve our Seapass cards from the door. They were there ! We had a heck of a time getting to deck 17 ! The elevators wouldn’t go up to 17. There must be a secret of which I am not yet aware. We finally went to 16 and switched elevators which finally took us to 17. Then we had to trek around to find the entrance to the SL/CK. It’s 180 degrees backwards from the design of the other SL/CK ! Finally….seated in the SL, we waited for the CK maitre’d to show up so we could make dining rezzies. SO glad we did that first thing b/c by 11:00 the maitre’d kiosk at the SL was a madhouse ! We got all of our rezzies the way we wanted them so all is well. We are going to Mason Jar for lunch in 5 minutes ! Woohoo !
  6. Ok now the big bad airline as changed our flight to a 11:49 AM departure out of Fort Lauderdale! Can we make it coming from the port of Miami? If so suggested or recommended transportation??? taxi/Lyft/Uber or is there a pre-booked car service?
  7. Absolutely ! This is one of their primary tasks.
  8. Today
  9. The cabin upgrades were welcome and nice. Many of the public areas and specially restaurants did not get a renovation. Retreat upgrade from Michaels club isn't spectacular, as they really don't have the space to create the same experience as Edge class. Matching color palette is fine for marketing, but didn't add to service experience.
  10. Never been asked to show Fire medic ID
  11. Vision and Radiance class appear to intersect at the Millennium class for displacement and passenger count. I liked that the M class ships had 3 elevator locations (F, M, A) as opposed to 2 found on later designs.
  12. In the excursions threads there’s a Norway thread with a great bit of info from a “local” about what to expect in Haugesund that day. We’re really excited, glad we’re in a town that day!
  13. Early roll call start. Haven't been on a short one like this for many years... But its driving distance to the port.
  14. I know, I never made a distinction in the size of the TA. We can assume, but I've learned a long time ago to never assume anything in life... especially with Royal! Whether it's the TA's policy (likely) or something with Royal, it can't hurt to ask to play it safe if that program matters to you. I know Costco Travel does specifically state in their policy that they do not participate with RoyalUp or Celebrity's version MoveUp. One of the reasons we may switch TA's down the road... hmmm...
  15. Hopping aboard this roll call very late! We're 4 days from flying to England. Will stay overnight on the 10th in Windsor, then visit the castle on the 11th, finishing up the day traveling to Southampton that evening, where we'll stay @ the Holiday Inn. Should wake up to a beautiful view of the ship! My wife & I have planned this trip for over a year after finding out some of the fjords will be closing to cruise ships after next year. Almost daily I've hopped on YouTube & looked @ a live feed from Geiranger (& also Hellesylt & Bergen). A new camera they recently installed there rotates, giving a great view of the water & the village. Search for "Geirangerfjord cruise port, Geiranger marina" to view it for yourselves. I also like viewing the live feed from Hellesylt. I've used cruisemapper.com to track ships coming & going to Geiranger & what a hoot it is to watch them on the Hellesylt camera as they appear from behind the mountain at the entrance to the Geiranger Fjord; a totally awesome sight! Do you realize that when we're in Haugesund on the 17th, that is Norwegian's Constitution Day, their equivalent to our 4th of July? Hoping to catch some of the festivities there! Looking forward to seeing all on Anthem a week from now!
  16. Not all agencies participate... we have used Costco Travel and they do not participate or qualify with RoyalUp. We do not get the invitations to bid on RoyalUp. Just putting it out there to check when you switch to a new TA if that matters to you. I don't know the mechanics/qualifications, but just make sure and never assume anything.
  17. Grats included makes a big difference for sure. My example was a good deal on paper if you wanted to eat at the more expensive restaurants. I looked at it just for the heck of it. It just doesn't fit our personal preferences. Part of me wishes we actually spent more on CP items, lol. I see what I know is a good deal... but on stuff we don't want.
  18. We get it if it makes sense which depends on the ship. Liberty with only a few restaurants, no. On Oasis it made a lot of sense. Interesting they have the gratuities baked in there though, I like that better..
  19. Check one, two... check one, two. Howdy from Texas, y'all! We just booked this Anthem sailing at NextCruise while on the fresh-outta-drydock Grandeur of the Seas this week! I was quite surprised by the value to be honest... it ended up being less expensive than the 11-night on Jewel we have coming up for a full week longer at sea. This will be our first trans-oceanic sailing on a cruise ship, so we are very excited and looking forward to the trip. So far, it's just my wife and I, but we're hoping some of our cruise-friends will decide join us between now and our sail date. Added bonus - our 15th wedding anniversary is just a few days prior to embarkation, so we are officially calling this the anniversary trip! Let the countdown begin! /c
  20. I don't ever buy either but I think they started adding the "gratuities included" to the dining packages fairly recently. I know I saw people discussing that there was a pretty good deal on some sailings during the last CP sale. The 3N package for my upcoming Wonder cruise was $130-something (grats included).
  21. Hooked should retire the Messy Fish Sandwich and 'save the tail'. I think the primary purpose of the brioche bun is to absorb water from the cod filet in lieu of a tableside mop wringer to squeeze it out.
  22. Leaving for #10 in a few days. 8 with RC, 1 princess, 1 carnival. 4 booked. Trying X for the first time in 2025.
  23. Just logged into Royals website just to check the "cruise planner" to see prices. In the dinning section they had to prices for the UDP and 3 Night package. One the price without gratuities and one with. I thought that was interesting. How new is this? This is Liberty out of NJ in October. I didn't explore further if this is the case with other stuff in the cruise planner.
  24. Usually, the upcharge isn't quite that bad but I've actually seen it far worse. If you want a refundable deposit, talk to your travel agent about a group rate. That often works out
  25. I'm not sure why a small TA wouldn't participate since any upgrade still benefits their commission.
