We are a party of 6. 2 of us have Passports. The other 4 are traveling with birth certificates.  Will we be forced to separate and go through separate lines for the embarkation process or will we be allowed to go through together?

The type of document you have doesn't matter for getting on the ship, it's all one line.

Getting off, I guess you could go through the birth certificate line with a passport if you really don't want to be separated.

We've done this.  If your people without passports are minors, and your one's w/ passports are the adults, you just all go through the birth certificate line together.  On the other hand, at the airport we have separated and sent our teenagers all through the regular security line, while the adults who have precheck go in a separate line.   You just meet up on the other side.  But if you have minors and are leaving the ship,  you need to go together.

its debarkation that will be impacted. While the passport holders will use facial recognition and be waiting out side while the birth certificate holders stand in the line for non passport holders.

Which, as someone who has done this a few times, I can say the line for Birth certificates is really no longer than a Passport line, it just takes an extra 1-2 minutes for the agent to physically look at the documents.

Wow, clamping down on passports.  Our 3/30 sailing from Miami:

Dear Guest,

We’re excited to welcome you onboard Explorer of the Seas for our March 30, 2025, sailing! As you prepare for your vacation, we wanted to share some important reminders with you regarding your required travel documents.

Travel Documents

All guests traveling, regardless of age, must bring a passport book – not a passport card – that’s valid for at least six (6) months after the return date of our sailing. Not having the proper travel documentation will result in a denial of boarding. Some guests will need to bring additional supporting documents. Learn more about the required travel documents here.

Important Notes

All non-US and non-Canadian guests must apply for either an ESTA or a visa depending on their nationality. Click here to learn more and apply for an ESTA. Please note, any guest who requires an ESTA or a visa must bring a printed copy. Guests who arrive at the port without these completed documents will be denied boarding.

Important but often overlooked note for all Port Everglades sailings: All passengers must have a picture ID to get into the port area on debarkation day..

All Adults in the vehicle will need a photo ID.

Not really "clamping down", you are stopping in Colombia, passports have always been a requirement for Colombia (and possible Panama, but I can't say for sure)

What a great itinerary, I am jealous.
