Light rail plan in the works catering specifically to cruisers FLL>Port Everglades.

Everything down here nowadays is expensive and excessive. I really don’t appreciate the growth in downtown at all as it’s not doing anything good for our waterways. I cannot see $4.3B but certainly $1.3.

I would think they'd get a lot of pushback from taxis and ride shares.

Supposedly $2 a ride.

4.3B sounds like the entire proposed transportation project costs including the elevated rail extension and airport people mover.

Yeah $2 ride seems like a pipe dream. These people are nuts. The excessive development in downtown has literally filled our waterways with human excrement due to the aging sewer infrastructure that is failing weekly. I don’t trust a word they say.

I would be extremely curious to see a study on how many people fly in day of cruise.

The differential of folks using the line "round trip" VS only one way "to the airport from FLL" would be interesting.

I would as well. I am sure it is one of those stats that vary by country, cruise port, starting point of travellers and day of departure. So lots of data to slice through.

For example, I could see Port Everglades being around 50/50 due to it's proximity to FLL and availability of flights to both FLL and MIA. Port Canaveral? Maybe more the day before because of the time it takes to travel there. Europe might be more than a few days before because people might want to take a full day at the departure port (we're doing that in Athens).

Tri Rail, Brightline and now this LR all going from Miami to Palm Beach, all promising to relieve heavy traffic.  

I guess that's good news.  Between the three of them there should be no cars on 95 anymore
