mbrewster55
This will only be my second cruise, the first being in 2002 (I believe). So much has changed, that I remember, but I did become a member of the Crown and Anchor. I see RC still has the Welcome Back party on the Oasis. My question, Can someone in your party, who are not members, go with you to the welcome back party? ck party
monctonguy
Not based on my experience...and I believe that it only starts at platinum level ?(the welcome back party).

arebee
I want to say there is a welcome back party that gold can attend but the top tier event is for platinum and above.

They send you an invite to your room, typically free drinks, maybe snacks, can't remember, they thank you for cruising RCI, introduce the senior staff on board and recognize the highest ranked C&A members on that cruise, I think I was called on one cruise when I reached diamond, not positive. This last cruise I was on in June of this year, on Liberty out of Galveston, there were 4 people/groups they recognized, the highest with a special award, the four people/groups had point totals 1100ish, 1200ish, 1300ish and the highest was over 1400 points. So, I think you need to experience this at least once, I go because it makes me feel like I'm rubbing elbows with the royalty...

I think they have discontinued the "Welcome Back" event. I haven't heard of one of those in a very long time. It think the Top Tier Event is all they have now
monctonguy
yes..I was confused as on my 2nd, 3rd, 4th cruises I was sure there was something I was invited to and then nothing for a cruise or two and then the last few its been the top tier event which was just for platinum and above the last time I went. The welcome back, I haven't seen on any cruise for awhile now.

tiny260
Yea, right, they look at me and say your just a lowly diamond level wanna be and walk on... lol RestingBird
tiny260
One of the guys they pointed out, walk on with my wife and I and he was telling another passenger that he had been living on Liberty since before the first of the year. He was in the Diamond lounge every night, sat by himself and watched videos on his Surface, and of course got free drinks and the free food. Didn't look old enough to be retired, maybe he won the lottery...
FManke
Can you use the C&A boarding line if you are a C&A member, but this is your first cruise? Or do all membership benefits start on your next cruise?
tiny260
You can try, IF the C&A number is part of your reservation I don't see why not. Most other on board benefits don't start until your next cruise.
arebee
Usually on your boarding pass it will say what level you are. If you signed up and this is your first cruise you won't have a color. After you will be gold and you will have your own line. But you never know, my first cruise we got there late and no one was in any line... After that its been gold, platinum, emerald and soon to be diamond... My C&A number is listed on my reservation, so I guess I can ask and the worse they can say is no and that I have to wait in line with all the other commoners! NS8VN
Judging by this weeks podcast though, if you arrive early it might be faster to go through the normal line anyway.

We will be there early, we are always early. If it's all the same, I'd like to use the C&A line. Just to use it. We all remember our first time! NS8VN
Unless you had the drink package during your first time... Er, we might be talking about different things RestingBird
DocLC
If this is your first cruise, you won't have achieved any loyalty status even if you've enrolled. As a result, you won't be able to use the C&A lines.
twangster
C&A boarding lines vary by port. In Baltimore Gold and 1st timers used the same very long line a couple weeks ago. Plat and above had unique and empty lines.
fonemanbob
Get to the cruise port by 11 a.m. and you will breeze thru. Want matter what status you have. That is why I have stated a few times to get to the port early. You get a good parking space if driving to the port. You are on board early and you avoid long wait lines. DaGunny
Unless, of course, you have a suite. That trumps all. Your Concierge will come off the boat, get you, and take you on first. Usually. Also, you avoid any line except suites. On the big ships, GS and above get "free" Internet ( a special number to input ). Also, there is a Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen on Oasis class plus a separate sun deck. Special seating and no reservations required in the theaters. Wine and beer 11am - 11pm as well as happy hour 5-8:30 or 4:30 - 8:00. Smaller ships just have the Concierge Lounge and happy hour. Also quick debarkation being escorted off. Different place for breakfast avoiding the masses. Different world. Oh yeah - Pinnacle gets the same. Royal Suites get genies that will bend over backwards to take care of you. Put nice red reserved seat covers on your chairs in theaters wherever you want to sit. You get what you pay for.....
