Biaggio
Cruising out of Ft. Lauderdale with a 1 pm assigned boarding time. Would like to board earlier for lunch. Anyone have luck with an earlier arrival? Thanks
Ryan79
You should be OK as long as you don’t get a check in agent having a bad day. RCIfan1912 and Robert M
twangster
Sure, give it a shot, but if you are told to join a queue for your actual time slot don't get upset.
LandstromCruise
When I cruised out of there in November they weren’t checking boarding times, but as others have said don’t get upset if you are told you have to wait, but most likely will be fine. PPPJJ-GCVAB
If everyone who has a later than lunchtime boarding time all decided to try to board early for lunch…the ones with the earlier boarding times would end up in a crowded mess! My opinion only…but…show up at your scheduled boarding time…not the time you would like to board! ScottishRobbie and tjcruisers

tonyfsu21
Official Statement: you should follow the rules and stick to assigned boarding times. RC will follow up with a stringent message 24hr prior to embarkation telling you NOT to arrive early. Unofficial statement: arrive when you want and jump in line. I have never been turned away. I don’t like how embarkation is considered day one of a vacation yet 1/2 a day is blown by the time you arrive to the ship for a late assigned boarding time. Jill
Pre Covid there were no boarding times and Royal still was able to adhere to the “car to bar” in 15-20 minutes. Most of the rush is over within the first hour.
