bzmie3
I will be taking my first ever cruise next month on Enchantment of the Seas. From what I’ve read, there are limited outlets in the room. Between my husband and I , we will have 2 phones, 2 Apple Watches, and a CPAP. We charge our phones and watches at night. So we will need at least 5 outlets. I understand about the European outlets and that anything with a surge protector is prohibited, but am confused about power outlet extenders. Not with a cord, but the ones you plug into one outlet to create 3. I was thinking by getting two of these multiple plug adapters and one European adapter I could create 6 outlets out of 2. What troubles me is how much I’ve read about people having these extenders confiscated. What is actually allowed on board?
SpeedNoodles
You probably don't need 5 outlets. Most of your devices only need the charging cord. I take a USB charging block. I can plug 6 USB cords into it. My needs are such that I have one that accommodates regular USB and USB-C cords. You can find one that mirrors your needs. That will take one outlet in the room. My husband will then have the ship provide an extension cord for his CPAP machine, which will take up another outlet (only when he's sleeping, obviously). A European adapter is nice to have to utilize that other one. https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Adapter-Charging-Station-Extension/dp/B0BLR47PK5/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3QMDA0EP0AASG&keywords=usb%2Bpower%2Bhub&qid=1703090035&sprefix=usb%2Bpower%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-4&th=1 Fill out the special needs form before you sail so that they know to have an extension cord (and distilled water, if necessary) for the CPAP. There is not an outlet near the bed. It should be allowed, however sometimes the security screening will pick up on a charger with a cord attached to a brick and flag it. If you get one with a removable cord you are less likely to have issues. WAAAYTOOO

I'm honestly curious why anyone would need that many ports. That thing looks impressive. I think the 4 people in my family would struggle to get 10 ports full between the 4 of us. But we all use individual ports anyway (everybody wants the phone to charge next to the bed).

Get one with a detachable cord and put them into different bags. I stuff my cord inside a pair of sneakers. PPPJJ-GCVAB
CrznTxn
They may put your checked bag into "time out" with an attached corded USB hub but once they see it they will let it go (had that happen). We now carry our hubs in our carry-on as they generally are more lenient on seeing and passing it through. I pack mine in with my laptop with its power supply and cords and have not had any issues. My wife has hers in a bag with all her charging cords and it passes right through. PPPJJ-GCVAB

Maggie M
I found this one on Amazon that has the removable cord people were referring to: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08R73ZJ6P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 It has 5 USB's plus 1 USB C (airpods?) Maybe this would be a better option than the one you're asking about?
CruisingSteve
All you need is a European adapter that has 2 or more USB outlets on it
jbrinkm
We always take the ones that plug directly into the wall with no cord and have never had a problem - like this: https://www.amazon.com/AILKIN-4-Port-Charger-iPhone-Samsung/dp/B08133MTN3/ref=sr_1_14?crid=13T4FT9QNCB0V&keywords=multi%2Busb%2Bcharging%2Bstation&qid=1705523724&s=electronics&sprefix=multi%2Busb%2Celectronics%2C399&sr=1-14&th=1 You can get them with different amounts of plugs to fit your needs, although you might not get as many spots as you would with a corded version.
