VFM
Hi, I know adults can’t wear shorts for dinners at Royal Caribbean, but I was wondering if this is also applicable to kids? Or are they allowed to wear smart shorts? This would make my life easier. thank you!

While the policy does not welcome shorts for either adults of children (same policy regardless of age), in practice you will be fine wearing shorts at either age level. You won't be turned away for them. Neesa and OCSC Mike
smokeybandit
Adults definitely can wear shorts.
CruisingNewb
That depends on your definition of "boy". I am a 40 year old boy. I am allowed to wear shorts anywhere on the ship as long as my wife says okay. Seriously though, if you, or your boys, don't go out of your way to wear something truly offensive, Royal has a pretty easy going and liberal way of applying its dress code. Overall, Royal wants you to have fun too. BobbieS, Neesa, WAAAYTOOO and 3 others 2
smokeybandit
I was not alone among adults wearing shorts on dress to impress night this past week. OCSC Mike, PPPJJ-GCVAB and bluer101
ScottD
All shorts, all the time! I BRING pants... I never intend to wear them, though OCSC Mike, CanHardlyWait and bluer101
PPPJJ-GCVAB
We just got off Oasis on Friday and my husband wore shorts all week. He did not even bring a pair of pants with him! As long as men do not wear tank tops they will be fine wearing shorts with a polo shirt or t-shirt or button down shirt. My grandsons also dressed with shorts and short sleeves and were fine. No one felt out of place! ScottD, CanHardlyWait and OCSC Mike
emmef
My husband wears shorts all the time, even in the MDR. He is in a wheelchair and it is REALLY hard to get long pants on him. We just make sure that his shorts are clean, in good condition, and look nice. We've never had an issue on any of our cruises. bluer101
I wear shorts the whole time too with slides, no issues at all, it’s a vacation. PPPJJ-GCVAB
tonyfsu21
Shorts 100% of the time. Vacation in the Caribbean = no pants. Nobody in that MDR cares what you wear. I’ve seen some borderline offensive logos and nobody bats an eye. Do what makes you happy and comfortable on vacation.
