Theresak1021
Quick question. In the dinning room can kids where khaki shorts ? Such as with a polo shirt

Xaa
Shorts are not allowed per dress code, but the dress code is not enforced for such. They will be fine. ChessE4

The only true dress code RC has for MDR is no bare feet and no tank tops. Anything else is a suggestion. Main Dining Room/Specialty Dining Venues Bare feet are not allowed at any time in any venue and tank tops are not permitted in the Main Dining Room or Specialty Dining venues for dinner. WAAAYTOOO
Unfortunately, even the tank top restriction is often overlooked. PPPJJ-GCVAB, USCG Teacher and HeWhoWaits
CanHardlyWait
Dress them in what makes them comfortable. Nobody wants unhappy children when they are trying to eat. Srp431, USCG Teacher, ScottD and 1 other

I certainly don't care and think OP's kids (and anyone who wants) should wear the shorts, but I see this in the App addressing shorts at dinner The full FAQ response that you quoted is more vague but talks about when shorts are welcome
Luly
My kids wore tshirts and shorts, not even khaki ones, every night on our Caribbean cruise and not a word was said and I never felt like I was getting weird looks. OCSC Mike
That wording from the app can be ignored. You will see tons of shorts on adults & kids.
