RCL not honouring covid policy

Recommended Posts

hi everyone

Just a heads up for anybody considering cruising with Royal Caribbean. Family members caught Covid in December while on Jewel of the Seas. Policy stated that we would be entitled to a 100% cruise refund, but then they changed it after the cruise to one day refund. I've been battling them for two months on this and they said today that they will not honour the refund and are allowed to change their policy whenever they like. So, they will not honour any policy and have the right to change policy at any time for any reason. You've been warned.

You are leaving out a lot of details here, because there is no policy that grants passengers a full 100% refund if they test positive once onboard.  If a passenger/s test positive while onboard Royal will cover all onboard medical cost related to treatment and if required any land based required quarantine also if required they will fly you home using private not public means of travel.

How long was the cruise?  Was a test administered onboard the cruise or did they feel like they perhaps had COVID because of symptoms they were having? At what point in time during the cruise did they test positive?

Welcome to the blog I'm sorry you had this experience but the policy you are talking about is for passengers who test positive before boarding the cruise then Royal will provide a full 100% refund.

Sorry but this is LITERALLY every business. Policy change is stated in everything and a right of the business.

Also, there wasn't ever a policy that they would give you 100% refund if you caught Covid on ship. Only if within 2 weeks you or someone in your party tested positive. As others stated, it was a prorated situation and 100% medical cost associated with a positive on the ship.
