  1. It's a smart idea. Just think of the worst case scenario. A group of armed gang members decide to make the long trip to Labadee. They have paid off the guards to let them in or maybe the guards are on their side. They would be able to get so much food and medicine from the ships and also hold everyone ransom. That would be a cool movie with the Rock going in and saving the day. Or nothing would happen and this is an over reaction.
  2. Why don't Playmakers and the Pubs offer more common beers on tap? What I've seen is that they only have around four uncommon beers.
  3. I stayed in South Beach one time and it was awesome. The beach is awesome during the day and all the neon lights at night are really cool. You can go to South Point Park on the South end and watch the ships leave the nights you're there. It's expensive to eat and drink though.
  4. If people don't stop climbing on the balcony rails and falling off, cruise companies are going to enclose the balconies with glass or put a net underneath them.
  5. I got into cruising a few years ago because of a youtuber. They always went on RC, and now Royal invites them to make content. It looks like a lot of work and the videos are basically infomercials now. There are going to be so many people walking around with cameras on the first couple sailings, you'll see them in the background of each other's videos.
  6. Is it just me or does the sound in the Music Hall kinda suck? I've popped in there a few times and it sounds like they're playing through some cheap karaoke speakers. The sound in the pub and Boleros sound so much better. There was never anyone in there too, it's kind of a waste of space. I could be wrong, but they should upgrade the soundsystem.
  7. The biggest I've experienced is 35% off my base price. My base price for my upcoming is $100. It's always been buy 1, second 50% off, except for for a couple of days it was 30% off so I bought that. Has anyone seen it 40% off or more recently?
  8. I just booked a Boardwalk balcony on Oasis for $2,100 through a TA. On Royal's site they are $3,200. That's a huge PRO. I'm booked as a solo btw.
  9. I always stay on Hollywood Beach if you are staying a couple of days and if that's your jam. It's right on the beach with restaurants, shops, and family friendly.
  10. That's true, but how many families with kids are on the older ships compared to the Oasis class ones? If those ships are 80% kid free, it really wouldn't hurt their attendance.
  11. I wouldn't mind if they took a couple of those smaller ships and made them adults only. They could updated some of the venues and style. They might find a new interest in those older ships. I would never go on one of them now, but I might if they were updated and adults only.
  12. Yes equipment is included. It's really cool. A guide takes a group out throughout your time there and shows you cool things. I think there's another excursion that doesn't include snorkeling equipment so you could take your own.
  13. I would like to see one somewhere in the Western Caribbean so cruises from Galveston would have one to go to.
  14. Since everyone is recommending South Beach, it's now going to be crowded. This thread should be deleted before anymore people see it. Fight Club rules!
  15. There aren't any sailings from December to February 25. Will it be in dry dock, or those dates haven't been added yet?
  16. That room comes with all you can eat lava cake.
  17. It's a boat if it has a trolling motor and a fish finder.
  18. You might get lucky and your room could be available. I booked Lago Mar Resort in Ft. Lauderdale after my last cruise. They said I could drop off my luggage and use their pool, restaurants, and beach access until my room was ready. I got there around 9:30 am and to my surprise, my room was ready.
  19. Just say "hey bear" and he'll want no part of you.
  20. You sound fun. Even older people can get a hangover. lol
  21. Being the day after St. Patty's Day, many of you might be hungover like I am. I've been laying around surfing the interwebs and it got me thinking about what everyone likes to do when you're hungover on a cruise. Mine is usually on that first sea day. I'm usually 60% tired and 40% hungover so taking a nap works the best for me. In the past I would down a couple Liquid IVs and Excedrin, then head to a hot tub or take a nap on the pool deck. I usually feel better around 1, so then I go find some food and go back to drinking.
  22. Under the "Packages" tab mine now shows The Key, not the VIP Pass. They must be fixing the glitch this morning. Maybe they'll give the ones that ordered it The Key for $88.99 as a good gesture.
  23. I would tell her now so she can get a passport. Half the fun is planning and researching the ship and ports in the lead up to the trip.
