Candace Houck
Are you made aware of any island changes or deletions before getting on the ship?
SpeedNoodles
Sometimes yes. Sometimes they happen mid sailing. chill6x6 and Swar
KevinJ
For our Jan 9th Anthem sailing we're supposed to hit San Juan Day 4. I fully expect that they may not make a decision until that day, as things may change at the last minute, as they have for some current sailings. BrianB
They can change at anytime during the sailing. We accept this possibility when we agree to the cruise contract at booking. If changes occur prior, they usually send out an email ‘Changes affecting your itinerary’. But sometimes things happen to prevent the ship from docking…usually weather related. Or a medical emergency causes a diversion and thus a delay or a cancellation of a port. It’s just routine when you cruise….ship happens! HeWhoWaits
If changes occur prior to boarding, you'll be informed of such. There is no way to anticipate other changes that may happen once the ship sails. Swar
smokeybandit
My favorite was a couple years ago in Cozumel when they were having the ferry bombing issues. We all got notices on our door saying all shore excursions going to the mainland were canceled.

Yup we were going to Cozumel on our first cruise in 18 years right around that time. Got lots of concerned calls from the family! Matt
In the case of San Juan, Royal is telling folks in advance. The issue right now is some ports are blocking ships from entering on the day of the visit. No advanced warning.
