Welcome to the boards @Jax and to cruising Royal. We have done DCL 3 times in the past and we find that Royal gives much better value for your money. And to start with star class? That is the ultimate spoiling right there! We’ve done Anthem twice. First time we stayed in New Jersey pre-cruise. This past July, we did what you are planning, we stayed in Manhattan and then headed to Cape Liberty the morning of. Less than an hour to the port. We may have gotten lucky as some others have reported longer times. It probably would be wise to leave extra time. Your boarding, either way, will be expedited because of Star Class but it is always better to arrive early. Enjoy and soak in the pre-cruise excitement. Nothing really compares to the build up of that first star class sailing.?

It’s hard to predict whether or not the holiday sailing will have an impact on CK availability. Your best bet is to go to CK right when they open on boarding day and try to grab your reservations for the week.

Based on availability for Junior suites. Very true. We are guilty of booking Junior suites for the sole reason of being able to access Coastal Kitchen, especially on Anthem. Oasis class is harder to get into CK with a JS.

Nothing compares to Oasis class! Aqua Theater, Central Park, Broadway shows, enough said.
