Yes, those would be things that you have to sign a little paper stating you will not hold the company liable for death or any other injuries just to name a few related to ACTIVITIES(ex, flowrider, ice skating, rock climbing wall, zip line.
A foreign substance (vaccine) injected into your body should be a choice! Any business could come up with an option for those who want a choice.   

Imagine if the cruise line and the CDC just gave the passengers a choice!  This unnecessary turbulence could be avoided !  They don't want it to be simple, they thrive on controversy.  

I was thinking about this yesterday.  Originally I was thinking Royal will want to show the FCDC it is capable of implementing stringent protocols but now I'm not so sure there is any value or purpose to this approach.
The FCDC is steadfast in using year old protocols based on no vaccines so now I'm thinking Royal may be best served by using common sense protocols because nothing they do with influence the FCDC in a good or bad way.  The FCDC can't see anything with their heads stuck up their...

It's ALL about GIVING PEOPLE OPITIONS!!!  Thank you for bringing some common sense to this topic.  Although, common sense now a days is gone.

One of the things I found interesting when I was in Florida last week was the number of people wearing masks, not because they had to, but because it was what they chose to do.  When I was in a Winn-Dixie, I'd say it was about 50/50 mask vs no-mask.  I think government, in general, doesn't give the general population enough credit to make the right decisions that are right for them.

This is an idea I can get behind with a few small additions, for those who are not vaccinated but present a negative test no more than 72 hours old they must submit to a rapid antigen test pier side before they board the ship.  If that test is also negative they are then allow to board and perhaps a second rapid antigen test on day 2 or 3 of the voyage. 

My wife and I were actually talking about just that the other day. I can see a scenario where they say, in order to cruise, you must either show proof of vaccination or have a negative PCR test within 72 hours or something like that. 

What if the CDC and Royal gave passengers options?
People with vaccine would follow xyz
People who choose not to get the vaccine would have to follow xyz.
People would lose their minds if this happened!

So what will happen if his is able to accomplish this or give out the money, what will you move on to next?

Matt for what is worth(never met you yet, although I think we have been on cruises before), I like having conversations with you as we both understand that having opinions on subjects allows for good feedback on this blog.
We have been pretty harsh on the CDC with what they have subjected the cruise lines to vs other industries during COVID.  And now, the CDC is putting unrealistic demands and pressure on the cruise lines putting this 95% number for passengers.  Ultimately, in my opinion, if we had a choice, things may be really easy to move on!  You can have the best of both worlds, people who want and have the vaccine and those who don't want it for future medical implications or for what ever reason they believe in. 
 

I am not sure that this is a fair statement "Florida Governor signs bill banning vaccine passports possibly affecting cruise ship restart"   He has been very supportive for a restart of the cruise lines.  In his press conference, did he actually say this? No.   Some of us have given him kudos for putting pressure on the CDC and Washington to get cruising back up, unfortunately, once he shows that he wants to protect our rights, things turn and head south.

It's a tough question that Royal is going to have to address.  I know we have people that could give top level thoughts (for those of us that aren't savvy lawyers) some general direction.

I like your thinking!  Once upon a time, people said Royal would not start cruises outside the US ports based on the CDC being sticklers (bite my tounge).  IT COULD'T BE DONE!  We now have two out of Barbados.  And no matter how you would like to twist the story, it happened!!!!!

Good for Him!!  The CDC and Government is pushing the vaccine and it should be the choice of the person!  Not the Government, CDC  or Businesses!  

I also respect your opinion, that's what makes our country great, however, we have had many public health issues in the past that businesses haven't forced any vaccine upon us.
So I guess if the cruise lines decide NOT to REQUIRE the vaccine when cruising resumes out of the US, you will not be cruising?
Norovirus was just an example, you could look at many other medical conditions you could get on a cruise from another passenger or crew, it may not result in death, but can affect your health.  Sorry, it was my common sense approach to this horrible disease.
Lastly, Governor's around the country have had very different approaches to this pandemic, and from the flock,heard, mass exodus of people moving to Florida from states that have different rules, is a good sign people think he is doing a good job.  And many of these people are from both sides of the aisle. 

Your health is your own decision and no one including businesses or the government should mandate what you put into your body.

That is inaccurate. The CDC is only making a recommendation to either not travel to the Bahamas and/or make sure if you are going to travel to the Bahamas that you are fully vaccinated. CDC is just doing their job. They are aware that they have no jurisdiction in a foreign country.

Wow just wow. How long until St Maarten and Bermuda are on the hit list? This whole situation has reached a whole new level of ridiculousness. Waiting for Bahamas to sue our government
