It's  6 "points" not 6 documents. Some points are worth more than others, like a passport is worth 4.  You have to pick at least one document from the "primary" category, which range between 2-4 points, based on the document.  Then you fill the rest of the 6 with documents from the "secondary" category.  These range from 1-3 points each.  Some require more than 1 thing for the point(s).  Like if you use a school photo ID (high school or college) you must also have a transcript from the school to complete the item.   It's annoying.

Aha!  Thanks for the explanation.  It does sound very annoying.

I can't imagine why NJ needs an extension - we need to show tons of identification to get our licenses.  The six-point system requires so much that we can't NOT be compliant.  I feel like it was easier to get a passport than come up with the 6 points for the license!  Even harder when you are married and some things are only in one spouse's name.

6?!  That's a pain!  I think we only need 3 in Florida, and I thought that was bad.  6 is nuts.

The old, thrift store luggage we have been using is not in good shape, so it looks like we are buying luggage for our February cruise. We do not have to fly to the port, so we have that advantage. But I need some advice: Recommendations for luggage? What would be perfect for cruising based on your experience? How about cost: What particular brand or style seems most cost effective?

For me it's all about the fabric pattern.  We found a 3pc set with ships, palm trees, light houses, etc on it, from TJMaxx.  No idea if it's actually any good (haven't had a chance to try it out yet) lol, don't really care, cause we're gonna look super cool pulling it around ?

But seriously, I have a big Oakley suit case that I love.  We've had it almost 7 years now and it'll easily do another 7 (no idea if 14yrs is good or not, lol).

I had the same experience.  At first, I thought "I have no idea what's going on, but this is incredibly weird" but once Britney Spears came out, it started to make sense for me and then I really got into the show!

Britney's in it?!  I'm there!  Glad I'm not her only fan on here.

I was in JS 6242 on Oasis one time.  I didn't notice any noise at all from the Schooner Bar.   We loved that cabin!

Awesome!  I originally booked 6242, incase my TA missed the sale.  However, she was able to rebook for me, and get more commission or whatever for doing the whole booking instead of a transfer, and she got us right next door in 6240.  Thanks for the reply!

  6. Again, what @DocLC said, really anything goes anymore.  I, like him, didn't do the full suit when we had to fly to our port of embarkation.  Some dress shirts, a couple ties, done.  No offense to anyone, I just don't know what else to call it...but personally, if someone comes in wearing "the preppy college kid look" (some nice shorts, nice collared shirt, and some boat shoes) I'm ok with that.  It's the "I don't give a ****" shorts outfits that bother me.

My family is booked on the Oasis in February and after the cruise we are spending a few days at Walt Disney World.  My question for all of you is what is the best way to get from the port to Disney?  One option we were thinking of doing is the airboat excursion with airport transfer, but don't know what they do with the luggage during the excursion.  Has anyone had experience with this excursion?    Also one thing to note is we don't have park tickets for the day we disembark so we are not in any hurry to get to the parks.  Thanks for any help you can give us!

The airboat excursion would be fun if you've never been on one.

On the airport transfer excursions, the luggage is typically carried under the bus with you. Another option is to rent a car with an airport drop off. While Disney does provide transportation, I've found it to be much more convenient to drive a car rather than wait on the buses.

I'd have to agree with @DocLC.  If you're going to be in Orlando for a couple days a rental would be the way to go.

I look forward to the next 2 weeks!   Jane

Wow, I haven't thought about that...over 2 weeks of a live blog...  Well, it'll give me something to do since I've already done all my cruise booking, lol.  However, @twangster, if you can't keep up for 19 days I'll understand, that's a long time to try and keep us landlockers entertained.  Have fun!!

  10. Haven't checked cruise planner yet...but...  Had Oasis booked for April 2019, changed it to Oct 2018...$2,000 cheaper for a JS with a bigger balcony.  It was cheaper for me to book with a refundable deposit this time around as well...Not sure if that was a glitch, but I ran with it and booked.  I'll have my TA check it out Monday, and rebook with her if it's all the same by then.

  11. Just read this in the Port Canaveral 2017/2018 Directory.

"Cruise Terminal 3, one of the Port's oldest cruise terminals currently being used for single-day port-of-call vessels, will be replaced by a state-of-the-art facility able to serve cruise vessels with up to 8,000 passengers calling on the Port.  The Port will invest $150 million for the new terminal, targeted for completion in 2019, which will support an estimated nearly 4,000 permanent jobs."

No idea how new this news is, but it's the first I've heard of it.
