FloatMe got a reaction from Neesa in Prices went up...
Among other reasons, another good one for why we book so far in advance, and only pay deposit until final payment is due. We will be able to use the FCC to pay off the balance of our November indy cruise and a smaller portion of our march 2021 enchantment.

FloatMe reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Future Cruise Credit (FCC) question
Yes, you absolutely CAN apply an FCC to the cruise you have booked in April 2021. FCC does not have to be used to book a new cruise. Can be applied to any existing cruise - even one that is paid in full.

I-O, we have looked at booking a b2b to even out the cost per day. Maybe some day!

FloatMe got a reaction from SteveinSC in Buckeye Cruise for Cancer - Explorer of the Seas
As a Buckeye living in Columbus, we have always wanted to do this cruise. The reason we don't, is that it has always been a 4 or 5 night cruise and considerably more expensive. Not to mention it sells out in no time flat, particularly the suites. There are a ton of Buckeyes fans with a lot of disposable income!

Cozumel food tour with chef Emily
Not a fan of Costa Maya, but we go to maya chan beach resort every time we are there. It is a pleasantly primitive with phenomenal customer service.
No recommendations for Roatan. We have only been there once and i did a Snuba scooter excursion through royal Caribbean.

FloatMe got a reaction from whenismynextcruise in Junior Suite questions
I forgot........ SPACE and MORE SPACE!
We have only stayed in a Grand Suite once. We were married on the cruise, so we splurged. The extra space is amazing! That said, we didn't use any of the extra services so it isn't worth the extra expense for us to do any time in the near future. We love the Junior Suites. The extra space and double C&A points justify the cost for us.

FloatMe got a reaction from Kathleen in Civitavecchia embark & disembark times
I will try this again, I posted an earlier response to no avail. We stayed at La casa sul Mare in Civitavecchia. A very nice bed and breakfast. The owner was extremely nice and accommodating. They have at least 3 rooms maybe 4. All with air conditioning and hotel style accommodations. They do have 1 room that does not have a private bath, FYI.
We used aimlimorome. Adequate service. We used them for 4 adults from MCO to Civitavecchia in a Mercedes van, from Civitavecchia to Rome hotel after the cruise, again 4 adults Mercedes van. And finally, Rome Hotel to MCO after a few days in Rome, 2 adults Mercedes sedan.
In Rome after the cruise we stayed three nights at le meridien visconte rome (Marriott property, western style Hotel).

We used Z Limousine. They were satisfactory, on time, for both transfers.

FloatMe got a reaction from Sweety in Junior Suite questions
Junior suite guests get:
Priority boarding in the suite line
Double crown & anchor points
Bath robes
Upgraded bathroom products
Tea and coffee in cabin
Silver SeaPass card
Real suite
I think the biggest thing is access to the consierge services and lounge. Free hors d'oeuvre and free drinks every night before dinner and help planning excursions, dinner reservations, show reservations, etc. If we have missed something or gotten closed out of an excursion or show, the consierge can usually make it happen for suite guests.
Also dedicated pool deck seating on some ships
Free pressing of clothing for first formal night.
Nightly free something in your state room. Cookies, strawberries, etc
Fruit basket the first day

FloatMe reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Upgrade?
I usually caution people against bidding for a RoyalUp if it is from one balcony category to another balcony category. I have read of too many people who ended up with a cabin in an undesirable location with little or no upgrade to their cabin or balcony configuration. IMO there just isn’t enough difference from one balcony to another to justify additional $$. The single exception to this would be if you are already in a bad location and don’t mind paying more $$ with hopes to get a better location but wouldn’t mind ending up in just as bad of a location as you already are. If you were to bid on an upgrade to a whole new category, that’s a different story. But not from one balcony type to another balcony type.

FloatMe reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Medical care aboard ship
Yes, there is a doctor on board and yes it is expensive. You must pay all charges up front and if your insurance covers the expense (many do not) then you must file with insurance to get reimbursed. This is a major advantage to getting travel/cruise insurance to cover the cost of unexpected medical expenses.

FloatMe got a reaction from USCG Teacher in Drink Packages
Just a thought. Use your points for OBC which then could be applied to your daily gratuities. Which will bE the same price pre-cruise or on board. Buy the drink package now and save a significant amount of money.

FloatMe reacted to spiralqueen in When is your next cruise?
Yaaaaay! There’s already a decent number of us on Oasis that week. I’ve taken to calling it the Unofficial satellite group cruise lol. If you look on FB there’s a group for our sailing already started by @FloatMe

FloatMe reacted to Mulligan in Royal Caribbean Newbie
So after 20+ cruises on Carnival my wife and I go on our first Royal cruise this weekend. Doing Harmony and from what I have seen via videos and read on this site I believe Royal will most likely be out carrier of choice going forward. It will be interesting having a gold card vs our normal platinum but I guess we have to start somewhere. I also want to shout out to Matt as this is a fabulous site with a tremendous group of people who share their knowledge freely and willingly.

FloatMe reacted to Matt in Trip Insurance
There are quite a few travel insurance options out there. Like car insurance, there is not just one option that fits everyone, so I'd price around.
Allianz is well-regarded.

Yes...sigh.... I broke down and booked a loft suite because the prices were so good. I usually don't give O-class much consideration but between Matt's blog and Chris's videos and this price, I might as well give it another try?

Booked for this cruise too. Was able to book a 2BR Grand Suite for the same price as a 1BR Grand Suite. The rates were really reasonable compare to Christmas or New Years.
